Good game! Vanek is pretty sweet for Rochester. Buffalo must be drooling over him. He undressed Auld on the last goal. Bieksa had a crappy game, but our forwards looked good. Green, Goren Kesler, Sarno, King and Heerema all looked decent. Our defense is going to be our downfall in the playoffs. After Baumer and DiPenta, we are pretty weak.

and lastly - i started a dynasty up last night in NHL 2005. i picked the blue jackets, got a star in waiting on that team, and otherwise a good chance to build up into something good. i'm playing on medium (i've only played it once before when i rented it) and i'm getting my behind HANDED to me. the computer just decides it's going to start winning, and puts the puck in my net... oh well, at least i'm scoring goals now. my Penalty Kill is my most effective attacking line (haven't sorted that one out yet...).

but my season objective (as from the owners): get the 1st overall pick.

so what - i have to tank all my games? yeeech. (then again at the rate i'm going, it shouldn't be too hard)

the open ice controls in NHL 2005 are great... except for in all your button mashing glory you accidentally PULL YOUR GOALIE!!! ugh. happened twice, and i gave up the lead - and then lost as a result... i'm still not sure how the game scores at will - i haven't quite figured it out but i *might* be putting it on my own during little scrums, but otherwise it looks like the player just skates up to my goalie and the goal goes in. blah...

hey shakes to make the game a little easier to play and not have so many goals scored. on the start up page go to options and change some of the settings. I messed around with those for a bit and instead of losing 7-2 or winning 7-2 it was always close games either way. Just an idea

NHL 2005 is pretty good now that I've actually given it a chance. I really hated it at first. Play around with the settings like moosefan said, I think you can turn hitting down al the way and it helps a little on that part of the game. I haven't gotten the open ice stuff down cause I'm still too used to controlling the puck carrier, so controlling the non puck carrier always screws me up. I'm playnig on easy right now but I'm doing pretty good so I'm gonna move upto Medium soon. Hell I was awesome on All-Star in NHL 2004, but then again my team was STACKED seeing as how I was in my 5th season and won lots. Lots of upgrade points and lots of trading away my draft picks to get good players. :D

my defense needs work too... as soon as you switch to a player - you lose a step on the guy your chasing... i dunno kinda frustrating.

NHL 2003 and 2004 are pretty good.. i ended up with both despite my efforts. i miss the create a player... but i'm having fun with the dynasty mode - i sim games for the fun of it. and i'm glad that i can't cheat with a stacked team... it makes it harder, but, i think i'll get used to it. even if i'm not winning ALL the time, it'll be interesting to see how far i can last in this thing (i'm not a hardcore gamer)...

Generally the US packaging has the comic, the Canadian packaging with French is the poster. Sometimes though the Canadian packaging has the comic, but the US packaging never has the poster.
