I'm looking for a new job right now. Anyone have any ideas? I've got 10 yrs experience in sales, retail, and customer service and 8+ years Financial Services. I've got IFIC and CSC too. I like action figures and long walks on the beach....

wow. i've actually put more thought into this...

i think i could sell off like 90% of my collection, and keep my avs players and goalies. and then only buy avs, goalies, and the team canada figures...

think i could do it? my retros are pretty pimp... but i'm dying from clutter overload.

i'll put together a list of what i've got tomorrow, and you guys tell me what you think.

Saw Constantine and The Ring 2 this weekend. More I think about it, Constantine was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it exceeded all of my expectations after seeing some pretty blunt reviews. It definitely ranks up there with some of the best comic book movies out there.

The Ring 2 however was quite a yawner. I'm tired of seeing possessed kids to be quite honest and they dont quite pack the Linda Blair punch way back in yesteryear. The movie itself was quite absurd in many ways. I found myself cracking jokes throughout the movie at it's expense.

Now I'm gunna d/l Constantine so I can watch it again

wow do my shelves look bare!!

i rearranged the shelves above my tv - the top shelf is going to be my colorado shelf, and the middle shelf will be team canada.

my retros have all been stacked up onto one shelf.. not sure what to do with them yet. i'm still considering selling the lot. i don't think i have the time for that just yet, it'll probably wait until summer (should wait for another lineup to come out - might catch some new buyers looking to jumpstart a collection).

very excited to try to kick some of my packrat tendencies, so much junk to throw out (and that's not even related to my SPs)... i streamed down my comic collection years back.. certainly i can do it again with my SPs.

oh also - anyone looking for a loose corrected white &/or red hossa (i did the switch) he's looking for a new home.

Selling it locally can save you the trouble of packaging/shipping and Ebay fees.

well i thought about doing the list thing and see what sells...

but two reasons i'm not a fan -

a) i don't want to be stuck with straggling crap figures (ie. who wants an Iggy 1), i need to be able to move most of them..

b) i'm hoping to get market value (read: whatever some loon on ebay is looking to pay) and not gouge the people i trade with...

i'm hoping to avoid a blowout if necessary.. but i'll get a list up and maybe i'll see how many people are interested in figs, and if there's only a handful left i could do it that way. i just don't have set prices yet.

They split up and a couple of them hung out in electronics for a bit, I did not really believe it was them cause why would they be in Winnipeg? They were on their way to Saskatoon for the Taste of Chaos tour with Killswitch Engage, The Used etc...

Once I realized it was them it was too late to talk cause they were on their way out the door. The crazy thing is I was listening to one of their albums in the car on the way to Wal-Mart and my girlfriend still had the case in her purse. We could have got it signed by the whole band, but it took me too long to figure out it was really them. Cool eh?

I knew I should of pre-ranked more pitchers and Outfielders. I have a couple of pitchers coming off big injuries and no Studs in the outfield. Nice Pickup Espin with Ichiro.

Shakes: Nice job with Tejada, he had 150 RBI last year and I think that led the majors. Shawn Green used to hit 40 homers a year, but I'm not sure if he's still got it. Maybe 25 with the D-backs?

Mark Teixeira should have a big year too, he's only 24 and is getting better all the time. He's been a fantasy pick in a lot of mags I read. Hoffman is a wicked closer and should get you a lot of saves.

ShakesO-- I saved my first post? Oh well, must be losing my sanity (married with children don't you know). I've been busy doing some work so I haven't been around the message boards in a long while. As to why a guy from San Jose is posting on a Winnipeg thread, I'm from Winnipeg (St. Norbert, with many relatives still there that I tease about the weather) and I stumbled across the Winnipeg thread searching for Brodeur. Yvan was a good player, can't compare with the likes of what is playing these days though since I left Winnipeg in 1970. I was 12 then and we had the California Golden Seals in Oakland then. There was virtually no coverage of hockey in those days down here. Hey Winnipegers have the best sense of humour! Keep Sam Katz on his toes. Ribbit!

Yup I've cut down considerably and the delay in NHL products helps me out a lot.
NHL 11 makes it even easier for me I only want teh reg Kipper, the reg Jovo, reg Khabbi and the CHase Khabbi. The goalies will be tough to get but damnit I'll get em.

Hey guys, was out in Indiana for the past five days, so sorry for not responding to pm's. Found and left a white MacInnis at the TRU out there, otherwise it really sucked (Lafayette/West Lafayette).

Those Marvel Legends chase figures I found were at Walmart on Regent. ML/toybiz has the incredibly annoying habit of packing all the chase into single boxes, so when you win, you win big. It was a very big find, to say the least. Only looking for a chase ghost rider in trade, otherwise I'll be holding them until there's something I want.

No toys around or nobody having any luck with basketball and baseball legends? Or did I just miss all of them.

Gary, congrats on the house, it'll be great for the kids. And I thought IG had mortgages ? :p

I went to the game last night, got free tickets from a co-worker.

My buddy and I snuck downstairs before the end of the third period. Waited in an area bewtween the ice and entrance to the dressing room. I got Hawerchuk, Steen and Arneil autographs there.

I got a free pass to the VIP autograph session from a stranger. I got Guy Lafleur, Richard Brodeur, Gil Perrualt (excuse the spelling) and Kirk Muller Autographs on the front of my jersey. I got Hawerchuk and Steen autographs on my game used puck that I caught at the Old Barn when I was a kid.

The players were very nice and easy going yesterday, no complaints here.

Zoomer, they may leak out a little early, but not by much up here in Canada. The Unleashed you seek should be out on April 2nd, the official release date for the new Star Wars stuff. For Episode II, stuff was out a week early, so it may show up that way too. Don't think there'll be a problem finding it though, I suspect that Walmart and Zellers will have the newer ROTS unleashed stuff as well as TRU. The only local major chain that doesn't go in big on the new movie release is Superstore.

I bought the Darth Vader Japan Kotobukiya figure from Outer Perimeter yesterday. It was quite costly, but a very nice figure. I have my eye on the Jango, Darth Maul or a Stormtrooper next, but I need to save up the money first or sell figures off.

This would be a bad time to tell you about the copycat Vader figure from another company? A guy on snowtroopers bought it and it's really hard to see a difference from the original Koto Vader. I'll spare telling you the price, but it was cheaper. :eek:

I don't know. They all seem to come out of Hong Kong and are readily available on ebay from the same seller all the time. I've seen the Koto and I've seen the knock off and it's really hard to tell the difference. If you want, I can do a search and send you a link to one.

I have to hand it to the people in Red Deer. Tuesday night Ryan Smyth's little hockey tour came to town. Red Deer is big on Hockey thanks to the Rebel. Well only 800 (it was less, 800 was VERY generous) fans turned out to watch the game. And what a terrible game it was. It was WORSE than an All Star Game.
When the players came out, plenty of people even boo'd them. It'll be interesting to see if they get more support in Saskatchewan and Manitoba .... but I hope not. The players need to realize fans are tired of their complaining and that they are at fault for the current NHL troubles just as much, if not more so than the owners.

at $20 a ticket (after "convenience" fees) i wasn't overly excited... works out for the best though, i don't have much cash right now, and no one to go with.

i don't think it's so much the lockout - but what interest do people have in paying to watch a meaningless game? short of us that want autographs that is... but i guess when i'm being cynical, it's just hard for them to come rolling in when they just threw away a season - and now they want our money for charity.. it's kinda like saying "we want our millions - and we have enough money right now that we don't care if we get paid this year, but you working class folk - could you cough up $20 to come to the game and support charity?" ... why not work for a year and donate a million dollars.

it's really hard to relate to that... so that, and the whole "out of sight - out of mind", most people don't care about hockey right now... i don't think they ever could have expected more then 2000 people.

just watched the first few chapters of the Clone Wars... not what i expected - i couldn't figure out why the thing was over 30 minutes in and hadn't ended... i didn't know the "chapters" were like 3 minutes each. not sure if i like that per se, and i have a hard time buying all the clone trooper hand signs and rolling around like a video game or something, but damned if it doesn't have the best sound a cartoon has ever seen :)

The first 2 series were chorts like 3 mins each but overall very entertaining. THe last 5 episodes are much longer as Morgbug said and are excellent as well. Does an excellent lead into the movie. Overall I enjoy all of the cartoon more than the first 2 movies. I'm beginning to think they should have just done the prequels as cartoons rather than live action. The writing is definitely much better. Wonder where the think tank was when the first 2 prequels were scripted

Vetoed by some clown named Lucas, no doubt.

I'm hopeful for the last of the prequels. The first one was pretty wooden, aside from the major duel. The second was ok, but for the recurring Sound of Music imagery:rolleyes: Much death and mayhem is hoped for in the last one.

Haven't posted here for quite a while. Played my last ice game today at lunch (not including the "for fun tourney" next week. It's going to be a long summer. :(

By the way, thanks Bernie for inviting me out yesterday. I love scrimmages.

Our whole thread needs to get together for a ball hockey or roller hockey game out in a parking lot or something. Let's give people some "quality hockey" to watch, kind of like those guys who play in the parking lot beside the Earls on Main St.

As most of you already know, Dean has been just diagnosed with Leukemia and
is currently receiving treatment.. The prognosis is good , but Dean is going
