In touch football news, The Bondiddy Bengals had quite the upsetting loss today against the Beer Bombers. Teams were evenly matched on Offense and in Defence. No points were scored until the 3rd Quarter. The Single point was scored by the Beer Bombers on a Rouge play. Tight defence was played on both sides. Offensively the Bondiddy Bengals had the Beer Bombers beat in the first half but got cut short in the second. Noted was also that the Bengals only had 2 spares to rotate through Offence and defence while the Bombers had 5-6 players rotating. Good game all round.

The movie has been out for a long while. Tarantino just was instrumental in bringing the movie to North American audiences. Kung Fu Hustle is already on DVD. All the asian Jackie Chan movies that were released the last decade were all released in Asia long before they even hit the theatres here

I saw it a second time last night with my boys. I'll agree with this statement. He wasn't that great during the love scenes, but then again, what can you really and truly do with lines like:

Anakin: "You never looked so beautiful"
Padme: "Only because I'm so in love."

After my second viewing, however, I found that he actually did act the part really well, doing his inner brooding about dark side/light side stuff (ie, (spoiler) ******





in the council room while Mace Windu went to arrest Palpatine).

I found that there was not much of a contrast in his "conflicting sides" and he spent the whole movie looking like he had a headache. I really liked the whole movie, but he's the weakest link in all the Star Wars movies. (Except Jar Jar and the little Anakin kid)

Luke learns more of the force, meets/trains with Yoda while being guided by Obi Wan, Han Solo hads the best one-liners yet there is no cheesy love residue (euch), Vader reveals himself as Lukes father, Luke gets his hand cut off and Lando gets pimpslapped by Chewie.

a lot of credit to the director. lucas can not work with actors (he has no respect for them for starters).

Kirschner was also the best Bond director (imho) and his daughter is the best character ever on 24 (and i hear her 'other' show aint half bad either :D )

Ep 3 was definately the best of the 3 new ones. I watched Ep 1 and 2 again after seeing the new one and I erally like Ep 2 a lot as well. Agreed on Empire being the best of all 6, I've always liked that one. Me and my bro would watch that one every year when he'd come home for X-Mas back in the day.

I watched Empire earlier this afternoon. The dialogue was fantastic, the plot twists were amazing (everyone remembers "I'M your father" and "That boy is our last hope." "No. There is another."), and every scene flowed into the next.

Contrast that with A New Hope, whose screenplay was actually written by Lucas, and you'll find choppy dialogue complimented by terrible acting all the way through the movie.

Even Return of the Jedi was well acted and plotted out.

What changed? The main actors were the same in all three movies. My opinion is the screenplay writing.

One has to wonder how much of a hand Lucas had in the screenplay writings of these recent ones. They are reminiscent of his poor screenplay writing in Episode 4 -- especially the love scenes.

They should've got the guy who wrote Empire to write Ep1-3.

great movie tho - gotta love gary oldman in that one - certainly much help from director luc besson (he also directed the original french 'la femme nikita' and 'the 5th element')

natalie was always good at chosing roles tho - beautiful girls is another great movie (directed by the late great ted demme, who also did 'Blow')

and the whole soundtrack to Blow is just awesome

GAMAX has a Vader on the way, I have a Mace FX on the way. I've seen them in person and played with them a bit, they are pretty awesome to say the least. Not sure what TRU is charging for them and whether they're THAT awesome, but much, much nicer than the Hasbro stuff.

You might be able to do 1 year contracts, but you might also pay through the nose.

MTS has 1 1/2 year contracts. When I used MTS I liked the contract, but hated the coverage. My phone coverage (I had a brand new phone) would cut out in certain places IN THE CITY!!! They weren't far out places either like around the perimeter. They were places like along Pembina & McGillivray, in the parking lot of Dominion Center, Portage near Cavalier, Stafford near Corydon.

IMO, short contract, lousy coverage.

Get DVD Decryptor,
DVD Shrink &
Nero

DVD Decryptor takes the files from the DVD and copies them onto your computer (called a rip). Then open DVD shrink, select open files, find the files you ripped (usually in a folder with the same title as the movie). After the files are loaded you can tweak the DVD, like remove the french audio, spanish audio, etc. By doing this you increase the quality of the movie itself (you want compression as high as possible). Removing the bonus material would help big time.. But at the minimum put the compression down as much as you can (can get around 50% or so) this should give you 85-100% for the movie. Then hit the "backup" button, a box pops up giving you a couple more options, look through those and then hit ok.... DVD shrink will then burn you a copy of the DVD using Nero (Nero is the dvd burning software).

These programs are very easy to use and produce a quality burn... Even the guys who have backed up hundreds of DVD's use these programs.

Also just to make sure we are on the same page.... Its only legal to backup DVD's you currently own.
