Well got our cases. No Repaint Case unfortunately. My Money is still on Bernie getting that. I got Cujo and Flames Roberts. I may end up having to sell my Roy/Cujo/Roberts to see if I have the funds to just buy one at this point. hey guys...

so how bout that storm last night?

i don't know what happened but apparently it was *all* right in my neighbourhood or something...

started off with this sudden crazy wind at around 930ish... then we were watching this big tree bending in my neighbours yard when we see this big FLASH of orange - either sparks or fire... (at which point i booked it downstairs to get the 'rents)... fire truck is on its way - we're all outside with the neighbours (apparently the lines popped about 10 times all down through the neighbours yards)... and that's when we notice the FUNNEL cloudS above the house..

my girl is on the phone with her mom - who is like 2 minutes away, and as far as they are concerned nothing is evening *happening* on that side of portage. just a bit of wind.

the lighting was crazy north of us - it was like war of the worlds - non stop lightning flashes (everyone at work decided they'd never seen that much lightning before anywhere ever). so eventually i managed to actually fall asleep - only to have everyone waking up at 1am to the crazy thunder that seemed to be happening next door or something...

and then at 230am was the mad dash to the basement when we started taking in water... something is wrong when we're literally lifting buckets of water out of the window wells...

lemme tell yah - it was a long night. probably would've slept better had i not seen the power lines in my back yard sparking light that. but hoi... talk about the worst lightning storm i've ever seen. i was spooked for sure. :p i'll put my vote back in for winter storms. i can deal with that.

Yup, those are the chase figs for this series. Not sure what the current ebay value is (or trade value, if you prefer). This series seems to have had pretty high production numbers and that's the fourth of fifth set of chase figures I've heard of being found in Winnipeg.

Yup, that's accurate. As I said, numbers seem higher for these, whether it's the number Winnipeg received or higher general production I don't know. The Hulk will probably retain better value, since the other is just a head swap. Tough now, wait a year, someone will just be getting into the line and be itching to have these. I got my green Hulk free. I have a movie Hulk as it is, plus the green early ML Hulk with the ripped shirt plus a grey version from the Hulk Classics line (much better, IMO). Too many Hulks.

For the guys who play hockey for FUN.

I'm interested in possibly organizing as weekly pick-up hockey game at the Maples Sportsplex every Saturday night. I'm hoping that we can book the ice for 1 and a 1/2 hour.

It full equipment and no contact, no slapshot pick up hockey, remember it is just for fun.

I'm looking to have 20 players and 2 goalies come out.

Players must pay for the season in advance.

Please let me know if you are possibly interested in playing, getting some exercise and having fun.

I will inquire at costs as soon as I can.

i'm taking skating lessons this fall/winter. i figure once i know how to skate backwards, stop, and turn suddenly - i'll be in better shape to play pick up games.

although i am dependable as a goalie, or jumping into the rush. just don't expect me to turn around in time to play defence :D (and that's super late for me too). or aim my shots for that matter.


i can't wait for all the NHL stuff to go down. i'm going to take another trip this year, haven't decided where, to catch the new look NHL and see some players i didn't get to catch last time. hopefully i luck out with some good scheduling.

i trust we're all down for a fantasy league?

I got mine today and I am not too happy. They charged $25.50 for brokerage.
That is more than ****ing UPS. So after the taxes and some other fee the

Don't get too excited, it likely won't hit here for any amount of time. I think the chase figures are still chase figures, they're just repacking some of the harder to find figures or cooler figures from underproduced Series'. It may drop the price, but ToyBiz isn't really known for helping collectors out.

I'd love to get a phasing vision but there's nothing else I want in that lineup. I already have a red Phoenix:p

btw, to all and attn: Morgbug - the avs bourque i want to trade has some internal clamshell damage inside the bottom and a little bit of creasing of the clamshell on the left side. displays perfectly tho and the paintjob (like virtually all series 1 figs) is perfect. had to mention this. my 'other' avs bourque is minty mint. also tho, i expect i'll be trading the nrmnt avs bourque for a wittle bit wess than i paid :P

I know some of you don't have hockey equipment and that is a comment that I'm getting from quite a few guys that I know.

Please note that hockey equipment does not have to be super expensive.

You can buy a complete set of equipment for about $300 brand new, not including skates.

You do not have to buy the best equipment out there and brand new stuff.

Gary is right. Hockey equipment doesn't have to be expensive. Just run down to Sports Traders on Pembina or Play it Again Sports on Dakota. Apart from skates and a stick, you could probably get almost everything necessary for about 100-150. Just be thankful you're not a goalie. That's EXPENSIVE!!!

And Gary, sorry, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who might be able to play.....but I'm sure I'll bump into people as we get closer to the season.
