No rush Brad, I didn't realize we'd be trying to get it done in a day. My other draft is on a different board, kind of like this one and we just do it in a dedicated thread there. That allows guys time to do whatever they have to in the interim and the draft extends over a week. People make their picks online and the list is updated as it goes. Sometimes you get delays as people are away or not online but it usually works out pretty well. We've done baseball, football and basketball drafts in that fashion.

I do like the wait to see what happens with pre-season injuries though, I made my first pick this morning drafting fourth overall and took Priest Holmes in spite of the concussion he suffered yesterday. It's supposed to be minor, but being able to wait three weeks wouldn't have been a bad thing either.

I don't know if I'll be able to dedicate 5-6 hours to a draft so I may have to drop out. I'd been presuming we'd draft online like the other. Not that I had any good reason to presume that, but I did.

I wanted LT and got him at the #3 spot last year. I was humming and hawing on E. James as well. I was going RB in the first spot no matter what. 14 guys in our pool, so lots of stuff will be gone by my next pick. RB/QB/WR, it's all up in the air to see who's left by then.

I think Alexander is a first round pick, but not a top three. And I really like Manning as well, but wouldn't select a QB as my first pick. If I had, I might have taken Culpepper anyway.

On Yahoo, each person is allowed 90 seconds per pick. With 12 teams and 16 players each, the absolute longest that it could take is 4.8 hours. If we do go with the live draft, I am not going to be around so that will knock 24 minutes off of the draft time. I did a yahoo live draft last year and it was done in under 3 hours.

With that being said, I like the idea of drafting on the boards, in this thread or another dedicated thread. Especially since I am going to be at the lake, away from a computer from the 20th to the 26th. If we started the draft on the boards on the 27th, that would still give us 2 weeks to complete the slow draft.

I guess it is up to the commish (Davetheking?) and what everyone else wants to do.

My brother in law in Vancouver got his first haul yesterday. He said he went to a Superstore and found a bunch of unopened cases lying in an aisle, so he opened them. Judging by what he found, they were cases from previous series' stuck somewhere in the back of the store.

He found 1 green Gaborik, 1 blue Sundin, 2 white Raycrofts, and 4 Wings Fedorovs. What makes it sweeter is that they were on clearance.

I think that superstore/extra foods must of had lots of extra cases from different series in there central warehouse. My local extra foods recently got 3 cases of Legends series 1. They will never sell and we will not get anything new. We were only getting 1-2 cases in town anyway. I would love to take a shopping cart, fill it and wheel it to the trash compactor! These figures are crap. Probably one of the worst cases you could get.

i really need some more of those protech cases (never mind what's inside them). i have 3 that are large enough for nhl sportspicks (skaters only). right now they're holding : Espo NYR, retro robitaille , white series 1 yzerman repaint

and i have a smaller one with a bonds '700' (not auto'd, but then again it didn't cost 300 :rolleyes:) and a second smaller one holding a lebron james 'national' 2004 exclusive

and i also have 2 mcfarlane 'fishtanks', one with a loose white kings gretzky - awesome pose. the second 1 has a white lebron2 variant 'finagled' into it. they take 4 AA batteries, which will NOT last very long, but they DO hang on the wall which is :cool:

btw, ff closed the encore with monkeywrench - nice choice. i actually seen the whole setlist before the show, when a security supervisor showed it to me. i wish i could have grabbed it off him

Madden 2006 is highly addictive...rented yesterday. I've only played two games but, damn!

Precision passing is awesome and easy to get used to (I've turned Vick into an accurate passer and like in real life, Peerless Price sucks. Roddy White on the other hand...)

The passing is very realistic in this game and I love how you can look off safeties and LB's (finally). In my first game, I got little yards and needed an onside recovery and a Matt Schaub (Vick got hurt) TD with 24 seconds left to beat Philly on the road, 14-13. And then I threw for 490 yards vs. the Saints, and the best part was on one play, it looked like Aaron Brooks actually threw the ball away to the side and BACKWARDS. can't get any more realistic than that. J/K Peaceshark:D

Although the Stats are kind of skewed thanks to the glitch in the game, but other than that, great game

Does anyone here own NCAA 06, I'm probably picking it up on the weekend after I return Madden. I think I'll keep it for an extra day,Thank goodness for no more late fees at blockbuster!
