i guess 19 teams runs that draft pretty deep :eek: i've got good defence and i'm thinking my goaltending is probably pretty safe in burke and grahame (philley and TB are strong)... but my forwards - spezza needs a big year, and bergeron better have something (he was so low down my list).

i really wish i had adjusted my rankings a bit more (which i tried to do right before the draft started to no avail)... any way to check who you drafted when?

Since I'm running a different Yahoo hockey league, I can answer that. Rookies are not listed in the list until after they have played a game in the league. There are exceptions to that, Crosby being the obvious one. But most are not included.

As for goalies, holy crap, I think both of mine are backups. 19 teams is a huge league.:eek:

i found the link to watch the round by round draft... i definately could've done better if i was there live - but my defense. wow - chara and foote, then stuart and boynton (if the bastage signs)? that's not a bad place to start... if some of my waivers go through i'll be in better shape.

but fellows like langkow i could've had over dudes like "erat"... really not sure where the bottom of my prerank ended, but i guess it ended too early.

my offense is a bit weak right now - but hopefully i can bring it up in the backend (though i guess defense doesn't help too much in fantasy...).

Boy does my defence suck. Zyuzin (spelling?) is my best one, thats pretty weak. My forwards are strong though: Iginla, Smyth, Federov, Demitra, Palffy, Sykora, Zhamnov.

Not quite. It means they'll be available once they've played a game. It's a slight difference but important.

And my D isn't bad either; Pitkanen, Slegr, Hamrlik and Lydman.

I went in and "excluded" a lot of injured, retired, or overseas players in my pre rank. It worked pretty well...

wow... 200 players? suddenly i feel like i didn't prepare enough (a little painful that my last minute adjustments couldn't be made either).

i'm hoping to balance out through the waiver wire. i've got a strategy or two that might come in handy with the new season - and i might be able to lurch off some key guys that i didn't get to draft.

the one good thing - almost all of my players had + seasons.

oh - and i meant Esche and Graheme for philley and tampa.

i'm thinking the league will be interested in that everyone seems to be lacking in at least one department... those with the high point forwards don't seem to have the best goaltending, and vice versa... most of my dmen seem to be powerplay guys, so that should be helpful. i'm thinking we'll have a close race.

There's a tupperware island in St Vital. Also, the simple Rubbermaid boxes and storage bins at WalMart and Zellers might work pretty good. Plain old boxes works pretty decent, too. I've stored some of my SPs in my basement, which gets some spring leakage and makes it damp down there, but my SPs have been just fine in a regular box.

That was so intensely frustrating today. My (former) team is absolutely brutal.
There is no way that I am playing with those clowns next year. As you could

Awesome, it'd be cool to have you on the team if you can't rally up enough people. Our team really only has about a 7-8 person core anyway so if you have some buddies and you are unable to get a full team going, we definitely have spots open for more people.

Oct 7 Kovalchuk has yet to come to terms with the Atlanta Thrashers. The 22-year-old winger, who shared the NHL lead in goals with 41 in 2003-04, has been in the United States in an attempt to negotiate a new contract. He says he will return to Russia, possibly as soon as Sunday, and play a full season with his Russian Super League team.
Advice: Kovalchuk's Russian team is scheduled to play on Wednesday. If he plays in Wednesday's game, he must pass through waivers to return to the Thrashers. That's not likely to happen, so an agreement must be reached in the next few days to keep Kovalchuk in Atlanta. Reportedly Kovalchuk and the Thrashers remain about $6.5 million apart on a five-year contract. Reports say he is seeking a deal worth close to $7 million a year.
