i find myself wondering what the heck to do to fortify my team. i'm not sure how much of a game i want to play of rotating through hot and cold players - especially if i get stuck at some point not being able to pick up a hot one.

Unfortunately for you, the commissioner is the one that has to reset the priority rankings for the waiver wire. I'm not sure if there's a way to do it automatically, I don't think so. The commissioner of the other football league I'm in sets it every Tuesday morning based on standings: last gets first priority for the week and so on.

If you didn't do anything about setting the priority rankings then it was just going along with the default settings that are in there. I would suggest a weekly ranking of the waiver wire as well, but that creates work for you, Mr. Gratzi.

I tried to pick up Ovechkin too and I'm very disappointed to not get him as I did wait until quite late at night to get at him. Still, how would you set the waivers that early in the season? Nearly impossible to do so without ticking off about half the league.

Morg - i don't think that's accurate... i've now moved to 10th, from 15th on the priority list for waivers... though i don't pretend to understand the science between deciding who gets firsties and who doesn't.

Well I don't profess to know how the hockey waiver works, so maybe watch and see what happens. I know the other football league does it manually, but that may be because that commissioner set it that way.

I'd like to see a reverse waiver order, last place gets first priority. The trick is setting it. You'll see some wild daily swings, so if you agree to reset the order once a week, it minimizes your work and at least the same person won't always get top priority. Unless you want to put me first priority for waivers and leave me there, then that's fine :p

Maybe it automatically resets though and if that's the case, it's cool.

Waiver wire is set at the beginning of the year in reverse order to what the selection was. After that everytime you pick someone off waivers after that you go to the end! I didnt pick anyone off of waivers early leaving me #1 on the waiver wire. Hence I got Ovechkin!

Bug In 'Madden' Game Makes NFL Player Tiny

Thanks to a bug in a roster update for the online version of popular NFL game "Madden 2006", a player who is 6-feet-3, 305 pounds -- appears in the game to be 7 inches tall. It's the bug that makes Michael King look like a bug.
King, who is a lineman for the New York Jets was apparently the victim of a typo made when the rosters were updated.
The game makers, EA, offer periodic updates during the National Football League season that take contain updated information such as player trades and injuries so teams can have the most accurate rosters. But in the most recent update, King's height was entered incorrectly and wasn't noticed until it was downloaded by thousands.
"You can barely see him on the field, unless you go into replay (mode)", said Phil Frazier, a "Madden" producer. "He's a tiny little guy".
But not all players are complaining, and the general reaction to the bug has been laughter with some calling it the "best bug ever".

ottawa, montreal, and atlanta will contend for the cup in the east.

vancouver, san jose, and edmonton look solid in the west. but i'm sure calgary will turn it around.

in a strange twist of fate - i expect the eastern conference to be the higher scoring one, but i think that the western style should prevail in the playoffs when those shootouts go away.

that being said: my money is on Ottawa or Montreal for the cup. (either way, i say it's coming back to canada)

i think i'll start saving my money for a stanley cup trip asap.

i'm 3-2 in football, i think i'm doing ok considering i'm not really trying - or follow football. i'm gonna try and keep my roster a bit more updated and squeeze out some extra points. i'm middle of the pack tho, and i can't complain about that.

fantasy hockey is my thing tho. i really enjoy it.

You're still very much in the hunt at 3-2.
Your starters are OK but you don't have much depth.

Here are some tips:

You should not be carrying 2 K and 2 Def when the roster sizes are so small.
You can't afford to do things like start players who are hurt and not playing (TJ Housh) and start a guy who probably won't get >5 touches (Sowell) while leaving a starting RB (Moore) on the bench.

Anthrax are great live. I saw them around 10 years ago in chicago and I saw them here in the peg back in 1987 (I think) with Kiss. I agree with the set list not being the greatest, but Halford still has great pipes for a 54 year old.
