The only way that you'll get with actual duty is if the item coming in was manufactured outside of North America. They don't seem to watch that very closely, though.

thats the way it goes with canada post. alot of **** comes through no problem, even stuff you expect to get dinged on. and then once in a while you get hit.

sellers marking up values can be a big problem though. just ignorance on their part i guess. i often make a point of explaining in correspondence about customs hassles/costs.
