All-Star Game was pretty cool tonight. Got a funny story from it too.

So during the second period this young punk in a Canucks jersey kept razzing Ritchie Regehr and saying he sucked and was soft and his brother sucked and all that (who does that at an all star game by the way?). Somehow Regehr got a breakaway and he scored. I jumped to my feet to cheer and turn to the kid and point at him and I'm like "Yeah Regehr, WOOOOOOOO". Just thought it was funny a got so fired up I did that, I was laughing to myself later in the game.

Hey guys, OOPS - looks like I messed up in the hockey pool. Late last night I was looking at my lineup and considering zoomer's trade offer to me - a forward for one of my D-men. Then I looked up who I could replace my D-man with and I saw Zubov sitting in the available list, so I picked him up and accepted zoomer's trade. It turns out that Crashz was supposed to pick up Zubov. :o :o :o

Crashz, I'll try to figure out a way to turn Zubov over to you later this afternoon. Maybe you can pick up any free agent and I can trade Zubov to you for him.

Ok I don't complain much but my one major beef with the fantasy hockey league is that we overvalue PIM's, it's sad when the high scoring goons are the most valuable players in the league. For the future PIM's are only valuable if you have a system where you have a designated "Goon" position. Otherwise the teams that are penalized the most are worth the most in this league. I do not propose changing the scoring now. Just wanted folks to think about it.

That's something we can all discuss for sure. I like how most of the stats are right now but that's just me but, maybe we should have had them at 0.25 instead of 0.5 points. Next year if we do this we will have to plan things out better. This was my first time being the commish and I didn't really plan it right. Maybe next year someone else can try if they want.

gratzi - you're doing fine as Commish. i wish we did have a 'bonehead' position... then again, i wish that our prerank draft had gone better and that maybe we didn't have 19 teams lol. definately some stats we could look at changing or adding.

powerplay goals are a killer because it becomes a 3pt goal (goal + powerplay goal) and maybe even +1 as well... so there's a much heavier emphasis on goal scoring whereas the assist guy gets duped (PPA might be a good addition).

SHG's and GWG's should be worth the 2 pts but PPG's should be reduced to one pt and it should be PP Points. They already have the advantage so scoring with the powerplay shouldn't be rewarded. I don't mind the number of teams. it just means those who pay attention win.

Simpson is entering his sixth CFL season. He was a member of the B.C. Lions from 2001 until 2005 and was Mr. Dependable during that time, playing in 90 consecutive games for the Leos.

In 2005, Simpson collected a team-leading 71 defensive tackles, six quarterback sacks, six special teams tackles, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, three tackles for losses and one interception for the Lions.

Simpson averaged 89 defensive tackles per season with the Lions, including a career high 115 defensive tackles in 2001. He led the CFL in defensive tackles three consecutive seasons (2001-03). He also had 18 quarterback sacks and seven interceptions during his time with the Lions.
