I totally agree. I was watching a Shaw preview of NHL classic games last night. They played the Detroit/ Winnipeg 1996 playoff game. It was neat seeing the old arena. I felt a bit nostalgic having seen a bunch of Moose games there. Winnipeg fans need to cheer for the Jets again, not the Oilers by default.

Our hockey group had to pay $40 for the Rent-A-Goalie. It was the first time I had to use this service.

For 2 seasons, we always had 2 goalies playing net.

It was a close call, I didn't confirm as 2nd goalie until 2 hours before game time.

I have a decent database of back-up goalies myself. They were either busy working or playing in the Highlander league on the same night.

One is our main goalies for last year is now a spare. However, he refuses to play back-to-back nights. I think it's pretty silly.

I picked up a PS3 on Monday, but I don't want the thing. I want the Wii. I posted a thread looking to make a trade / cash deal but no dice. Ah well. The kids would have loved the Wii. There are still PS3s available at Superstore in Steinbach if anyone is interested. They had 3 left when I left today (1 x 20 GB, 2 x 60 GB). They got them in yesterday (Monday) and they're still there. I work in Steinbach so I'm there every day if anyone needs one. They're $715 and change after taxes and after the $30 discount coupon. Picked up a flying Orr Reg and a Chase Team Canada Gretz this weekend...

My wantlist is pretty simple:
Chase Ovenchicken
Chase Perreault
Chase Clarke (maybe)

I kinda like the Reg Clarke better, but every one I found has a terrible paint job...

Some football, some hockey, some baseball. I love the Legends and Cooperstown series and pick up quite a few of those. Mostly variants of current players when I find them in stores. I did buy the Antonio Gates regular figure because of the Chargers Honolulu blue throwback uni he's in.

I would probably buy a lot more if it wasn't for the 300 or so Starting Lineups I already own. I had a great time collecting those for a few years in the mid 90's.

Has anyone got a variant Perreault yet? The white Sabres jersey was the first one I ever purchased back in 1975. They went on to the Cup that year. I loved the French Connection and the fact that Buffalo was the only team that could consistently beat Montreal back in the mid 70's made them my favourite team for a number of years.

The thread moves pretty slow as a lot of the original collectors have scaled back their collections. I guess the hardcore guys left would be me, cogra, and zoomer, but everyone still tries to help each other out now and then.

I'm a hockey collector only and I'm motivated by having the most diverse collection of uniform combinations. I'd like to have one figure in all possible uniform combinations. For example: I have Chase Series 6 Roy, Chase Series 9 Sakic, and Chase Series 10 Aebischer. so that covers all combinations of the Avalanche jersey. If another Avalanche player is released I don't need to buy one, but I will "swap" players if it's a player I like better. Players like Nash, Kariya, and Perreault are a pain for me as since Sabres, Blue Jackets, and Preds are not often released, I will buy Reg and Chase to check two uniforms off the list. I also really like Oilers figs and goalies, so I get sucked into those too...

Long story short, my wife thinks I'm nuts and I'm broke!:p
