there was a big friggin watermain break on route 90 north, close to the wendy and tim hortons i think...

and there looked like there was construction or some kind of crew on the other side with a big arrow pointing left (y'know, watch out for workers)... so we're all shuffling about... and i look up... and there's water all over the road... and one car is like right against the curb.. and another one is stuck in the middle... and the brinks trunk in front of me is literally sliding in a parallel manner towards the curb, everytime it stops driving...

so, it's clear the cars can't move... and i'm pretty much stuck just before the water... so i get out to go push.. the water was like at least 8 inches deep... and i got the one car going... and just as i got the second one to move... some other guy finally came to help... in the meantime, like 20 cars went around the brinks truck and just kept driving instead of helping.

then i ran back to the car (and boots were pretty much ice)... and tried to merge into traffic (i had to make it through the water)...

and i almost got hit by SIX cars. i was spinning on the ice, and people on their cell phones, just decided to move into the space where i was... i couldn't believe it. nevermind that i couldn't avoid the water at that point - and could barely see when i was driving out of it...

so anyway. i got to school - and i had to buy new socks, and dry off my pants.. and my feet were friggin freezing...

i was there for like 3 hours... when i go to go home, my car starter didn't start the car... it won't even unlock the doors... i open the door with my key and try to use the power locks... nadda... put the key in the ignition - and no lights, nothing..

so my car is like frozen or something, and i had to call CAA and take the bus home and wait patiently for them to come sometime before 730 to tow me home... (or as my mom says "maybe you left the lights on" argh!)

and i'm still cold.

people suck. anyway. that's my rant. i can't imagine how messed up those other two cars are going to be if mine froze up like that. i'm just so mad that only one other guy finally got out to help... and then half of them almost drove into me after. :angry:

alrighty.. well on the way home from picking up my car (it would appear that i *did* leave the headlights on in my numbed rush to remove my frozen boots and socks from my feet - but my parents were glad they didn't have to pay to fix the battery or anything) ... a guy jumped the snowbank right in front of me on ness across from the silver heights arena...

luckily i was driving 30 and got to stop, and...

winnipeggers redeemed themselves - no less then 6 people came to help dig, push, and direct traffic.

nice to see after the pain in the arse experience i had this morning...

Shakes: I hear ya. I was driving home from work last winter during a storm and was stopped at a 4-way stop. There was a dude crossing the intersection but he was stuck and was blocking the intersection so me and my buddy get out to push him out of the way. As we are doing that the traffic behind us starts going nuts and honking and stuff. That kind of stuff just aggravates the hell out of me -- if we didn't get out to push they wouldn't have been going anywhere. Anyways, I feel ya...

i've had lots of similar experiences myself and certainly empathize. i guess what i've 'worked out', is that you need to understand the difference between ignorance and apathy.

these days, i try not to 'hate' people simply for their ignorance, and 'do my best' to avoid judgement of others as i prefer not to be judged. live and let live is my opinion. really hard to explain peoples' "failure of logic" to them when they're roadraging on you tho, eh?

the damn thing freezes on me out of nowhere... toshiba says i might be having battery static or something (we took out the battery and did a discharge earlier - but it froze again right after), and also told me to install a BIOS update (which i'm about to do)..

they said that i might want to just take it right back in and exchange it for a new one so i don't have to worry about this becoming a major issue..

i just called staples back and apparently your shift just ended... what do you think i should do?

I'm pleased with toyfest, and TC single figs is cool, But I'm a little tired of repaints. I don't need another damn Broduer and everyone else is a paint swap. They will be cool and I'll determine what to buy when I see them, but NHL10 will be the only new sculpts all year.

Crashz - man lol.. the first thing that happened when i got my computer home... i did the norton bit, rebooted for updates, and then logging back in, opened up IE and it FROZE... but we've come to a strange conclusion... i was in the kitchen the whole time, on a vinyl type chair - the only place it's froze... and now i'm in the dining room on a wooden chair, and when i was in my room, or anywhere else... no problems...

Okay the show on Tuesday is ready to go!

We've got our set worked out and we are debuting 3 new songs too! This is our first show in a while as the band was kind of on hold while I was in Winkler and X-Mas.

It's a battle of the bands called "Search for Ra NRG (Raw Energy...clever,eh?)
My band is called WORMHOLE and you should enjoy us if you like At The Drive-In, A Perfect Circle, Rage Against The Machine, etc. We need the support to advance to the second round. We're not holding our breath, but that would be awesome if we could win at least one round.

For those of you that may have seen us before, we have made a slight line-up change that has really been great for the band. Instead of me singing old songs, we've been able to turn the page from the old singer's material and try new stuff, which is working out great!

Zoomer, Shakes, Gratzi, etc. Come on down on Tuesday and have a beer with me and help out the local music scene!
