I have never gotten free parking in Minnepolis. If you do find a spot please share the location with me.

That's why I asked. Downtown is so packed and so I rarely go there.

Taking a trip down there to shop seems pretty much useless unless you walk/take a bus or something....

If you spend like 20 bucks at the Target Downtown, you can score free parking for a few hours. thats about it.... Otherwise, its like 2 or 3 bucks an hour. Still, not bad all things considered. Ive spent more downtown, and at least its secured.

Bump for the BRILLIANT dismissal of Flip.... *rolls eyes* If the team isnt listening to Flip, WHY would they listen to Kevin ? His guest starring roles on Cheers ?!?!?! :D

Is a certain ex- Bulls coach in the immediate zen of the T-Puppies?

Bill Cartwright? ;)

If you mean Phil, I hope to god it is. He would be able to do something with this team, also it would help bring players to want to play here.

I doubt the the Zen Master will be the next coach.

I just wish the NBA would allow teams to cut players, similar to what is done in the NFL. It would certainly make the players pay more mind to who is running the team. Cassell was going to be on KFAN tonight with Barreiro, but I missed it. He was supposed to address the scenario if which the fans & media were blaming he & Spree for Flip's firing.

Alrighty y'all.... I will throw it out there:

I got a question.... Does anyone know who these "mysterious" East Coast Backers are helping to support Fowler and Denny Hecker  ANOTHER Used Car Salesman ?!?!) buy the Vikings ?

Is there a list? And is it possible Fowler is being used as a figure head because of his ethnicity ? When Tom Clancy tried to buy the team, he had more money than Fowler, and was turned down.... I'm just curious is all. Fowler sounds like an excellent guy, and being a former football player couldnt hurt in making wise/experienced decisions.

Hey D.... I saw Flip at Vesicios in Dinkytown last night when I was there eating with Tiff. He was there with his sons. He didnt seem to have lost his appetite. :D

My buddy Simon is a waiter there, and didnt even know who he was until I told him....

I have both the series 1 opened, maybe I should have gotten another BB. I'll have a Shaq-Magic also, if that's the chase.

I stopped at Shinders today, they had the 3" NBA 2, most were $6.99, the Garnett was $9.99 and the bubble had dents in it. :( I'll wait some more I guess.

I've been to a couple games so far, We sat in the $25 seats, mid line, 1/2 way up. The game is fast and they hit hard. Guys are always getting whacked with a stick. I've seen a few fights. I'm going this sunday with a friend, it is a lot of fun, once a guy figures out the rules.

Yeah, I talked to Dion but all he said was send the Collector's Club a message and so I did. Well, too late because the 2 packages arrived today. I guess I was able to "fool" the system, lol. Shinders is a good idea, but eveytime I bring a chase figure there that I don't want, they always act like *******s to me. Once I brought two chase figures, and the guy that buys them had to be called out of the ahem..."Adult Entertainment" section and boy was he pissed. Not a good start to the Wolves - losing to the Clippers!!

They needed to get rid of Sam yesterday before the trade deadline. They should have shipped him to Atlanta for GP. It sounds like he is going to get bought out anyhow, so he can become a free agent. They mentioned that during the game last night and the 2 teams named were the Wolves & Nuggets.

The Pioneer Press reported that Eddie G. fractured his index finger on his left hand & is out indefinitely. They also reported that Kandi left the Staples Center on crutches.

They have got to start winning games in a convincing fashion. Losing 14 point leads in the second half of back to back games is not going to cut it. At least they were able to pull away from Portland last night. Nice to see the Lakers & Sonics lose.

With games coming up against Golden State, Milwaukee, Boston & Charlotte, they need to go 4-0 or 3-1 at worst. Denver is starting to gel under Karl's leadership and have gotten to within a 1/2 game of the Wolves.

Hopefully Sam's hamstring will sideline him for a while!!! :D

When you shoot around 20% for the first quarter, while your opponent shoots over 60%, chances are that you will be losing. It was nice to see the Wolves pull their heads out during the second half. The Bobcats were VERY physical with the Wolves during the first half, with very little being called. We were sitting about 6 rows behind the Bobcats bench, and while a few players seemed to be feeling pretty good about themselves, JB Bickerstaff reminded them that there was still a half left to play.

As far as suffering for your faith, do I have to bring up the Packers teams between Lombardi & Favre?!?!

Hope your dental visit went okay. Mac & I had ours this morning. Still no cavities for me and Mac now has two (2) loose teeth!! :D

Wolves beat the Magic last night, which was a MUST win. Now they have to beat the Mavs on Sunday, but it's a Noon game, so that in itself makes it harder for the Wolves.

I love the Walker "Lambeau Leap" idea!!

I just heard the Vikes signed Sharper for 4 years. I am sorry to see him go, but at the same time, happy that he will now be missing tackles for the Vikes instead of the Pack!! :D

Im looking forward to it, and Im not a Packers fan per say. Anyone here have any ideas why everyone seems to be so vocal against it?

Yo D.... What up ?

This brings up an interesting discussion idea. You know me, I'm all about communication over here.... :D

I wonder how many sports transplants there are on the boards?

I was born in Minnesota, but I grew up in Savannah.... A Bills fan because they were the first team I ever saw play in person, and a Cubs fan because of that whole epiphany thing I had when I was 6 years old after a little league game.

Sorry about the Wolves.... Whats the "Hot Stove League" Equivalent in Basketball called, and when does it start? Now, or after the playoffs? Who should the Wolves loose *beside Cassell and Chuckles Spreewell* and who should they pick up? Despite my height, Im not a Big Basketball man.... I just like to know, so I can hold my own during those crappy board meetings. *Read that as I need an ejection lever, as my business partner is a HUGE B-Ball fan, and when I screw up.... Yep, resident of Ohio for 27 years, lived in MN a year and a half now. I am a homer except for the Steelers which I've rooted for since I was little because Jack Lambert was from my hometown and he was still playing when I first started watching football. I do root for Minnesota teams as long as they don't play my teams....I can't really root for the Twins though since they are in the same division!! Vikes and Twolves are my 2nd favorites in their respective sport!

This is just my opinion, but I think that if the Wolves are going to try to get rid of Cassell (which they will), they are going to need to package him with a younger player in order for some team to take him. I could see the Wolves putting Cassell & Hassell together in an effort to land Kidd or another upper caliber PG. I read that the Wolves have 8 players under contract for next season:

KG (not going anywhere)
Wally (I don't think they will trade him)
Hoiberg (not going anywhere)
Hudson (need another year to see about his ankle)
Hasell (defense dropped off & pouted to start the season when he wasn't starting)
Casell (good as gone)
Kandi (could be traded with Cassell)
Ebi (wasted pick - will never see the court)

Once / If they make some trades, I would like them to resign Carter (defensive PG) and Eddie G (shot blocker with shooting range). Add their draft pick (playing for pingball luck) and they should be good to make another run.

It will really depend on if McHale stays on as GM. If he does, whoever they hire as the coach will want certain type players for the system that they will want to implement.

And they didnt take Mike Williams WHY ?

I know speed never goes out of style, and Williamson is quick... but Williams is like 6'5" tall and pretty good skills. As I said in another thread, I really feel like he could be the next Cris Carter.

What are y'all thinking ?

I think we already have 2 receivers just like Mike Williams in Travis Taylor and Marcus Robinson. We have seen in Kelly Campbell that speed is a deep threat no matter how big you are. Williamson is a good size receiver with great speed and is a homerun threat every play.

The title of the thread is indeed MINNESOTA COLLECTORS, meaning collectors that live within the borders of the state of MN. If the name of the thread was MINNESOTA COLLECTIONS, that would mean collections of items based on thing/teams/players from the state of MN.

Getting to the Packers draft, they may not have addressed immediate needs, as the Vikes did, but when a QB like Rodgers falls into the Packers lap, they had to take them. They traded down in the 3rd & 6th rounds to get additional picks, so they ended up taking 11 players, plus the undrafted FAs. I see that they have signed a couple of veteran safeties (Freeman & Little) and a LB (Thompson). Rumor also has Chad Brown coming to GB. If that happens, they will be set for LBs. My guess is that they will be looking for defensive linemen & a DB or 2 with the June 1 cap cuts.

Too bad that they decided against St. Paul. And, no, it doesn't need a roof. If I can freeze my butt off playing softball (played last night at 8 & 9) for no pay, then those getting paid can also. The 5-6 games a year that may need to be postponed/rescheduled simply opens the door for possible doubleheaders.

I am as "pro-cookie" as they come, but I just cannot see the reason for an extra $100 million for the handful of games that the roof MAY have to be closed. Seeing how Pohlad is willing to give $125 million, and you know that figure isn't going to increase, we would be responsible for the extra $100 million for the roof.

Janet Jones was YUMMY in American Anthem!! Not that I saw the movie or anything!! Alright, but hey, I was young and it seemed like it would be a good date movie!! :D

Todd - How's the cost for repairs coming?? If you need any additional bids, I could probably refer a contractor or 3. Give me a call if you need any assistance.

So, did you guys see that McFarlane will be attending the GI Joe convention? (I saw it in the news section) Apparently, this is being held at the Minneapolis Convention center from June 24th till the 26th. McFarlane finally comes to Minneapolis, and it's for the GI Joe convention? I wonder if Mark could bring along some of those NFL warehouse finds for any registered board members?

This only makes me more mad that they didn't come to the NHL All Star game with a North Stars Modano and a 3rd jersey Gaborik. Can't come for the NHL (what's the NHL again?...), but they're here for GI Joe.

I agree, but the official word from TMP about the All Star Weekend was that the NHL wanted them in Edmonton, instead of Minnesota. TMP's budget wouldn't allow for both trips, so we were shut out.

Hey, if the Twins get a new stadium, maybe the All Star game will come here & we will finally get some MN Exclusives!! :D

Went to the TRU in Roseville today.... they have some good deals. Starting at 10% off for a lot of things, somethings 20 and 30 % *no Video Game Consoles, but they have games at the 10% discount, plus Controllers *PS2s, XBox, etc. and other accessories at 30% off

I put in to buy the Batman, JLA, GI Joe and other art liners from the overstock. Someone already bid on the Star Wars. I was #6 to bid over all, so its a short list if you want fixtures or art or anything.

Y'all might want to check it out. Nothing has really been picked over, and they do have some pretty good deals. Some old G1 Reissue Transformers *Grapple, Inferno, Red Alert, Blue/Silverstreak, Hoist* and others for like 10 bucks.... You can score some Hockey and other figures. Looks like they found some old stock in the backroom, has some NHL 6 and 7 on the pegs. *ugh* Still, theyre a good deal at like 5.50 if you need fodder. *Nothing but Regs.... sorry*

2 Packs *Helton and Sosa* for like 10.50, and a bunch of other crap....
Candy is like 20 or 30% off. :D

Seriously, hit up the TRU in Roseville if y'all need anything other than SPs.
I could have dropped some SERIOUS bank today. I escaped spending only like 50 bucks.... You'll save at least 10%, so think of it as screwing ol' Gov. Tim out of his 7%.

*humming Christmas tunes, so get your list in EARLY.... and you KNOW who you ARE*

#1. I would LOVE to beat the guys from Swindlers.... :D Im thinking a gentle kneecapping, followed by some Louisville Slugger Scalp Massage. 25 bucks for a Regular Priest Holmes2 my Shiny Irish Hiney !!!!

#2. Nope.... No one died, but my Dad challenged me to a drinking contest.... *tsk tsk*
Poor Dad. Didnt have a chance. He drank American beer, and had 9 glasses of *whatever* I dunno, its all the same crap to me. I had 9 Irish Car Bombs *12 ounces of Guiness and a shots of Baileys* to match his beer, then I chased it with a couple of regs of Guinness.

Barely Buzzing.... but there was a time or two the boat rocked more than it should of, if you catch my meaning. Mom WAS NOT Pleased.... but SEVERAL relatives WARNED him. You think he would have remembered Grandpa's wake, where I drank for myself and Grandpa.... Well, someone had to drink for Grandpa. He wasnt there. :o

Come to think of it.... its the only thing Dad's ever really bragged about when it comes to me.... My Irish Liver. Again, he should have known better.

All in all, it was a very BEAUTIFUL wedding. I was very impressed. So was the Bartender whom I showed how to make an Irish Car Bomb. She was a cute lil Red Head..... *Im in SO much trouble....:cool:* Witness protection program, HERE I COME !!!! :D

Still they should put more bathrooms on a boat when you open the bar like that.... especially if youre serving lunch AND dinner. Needless to say, it looked like there were a lot of guys fishing off the end of the boat if you catch my meaning.... :o

God I love my zoo.... er..... family.

#3. As for the Yankees.... I aint saying NOTHING. Like the Cubs Winning, Derek Lee Hitting, and the Yankees Loosing.... Respect the streak.

I'll see if I cant get something stoopid signed if I go.... I still havent decided if Im going, it depends on how I feel. I slept for crap last night, but I think its because I REALLY liked the new Batman movie

Speaking of that, Im late for Riverside. Gotta run.... Make the world safe for democracy and pharmacuticals and all that jazz. :)

I'm sure Best Buy wouldn't waste money on someone who will not be on the team next season.

Or maybe they're trying to cash in on the Wolves, while there is a buzz created with the hiring of a new coach and the upcoming draft??

Plus, I don't think the Wolves front office is thinking "Great - Now we can't trade Cassell this offseason. He just had a signing at Best Buy." ;) :D

Todd - I am thinking of taking Riley to Batman Begins on Saturday or Sunday. Is it okay for a 7 year old?? What about a 5 year old, in case I want to take Mac along??

I have a feeling that Cassell will be gone this offseason with a trade to somebody else, because he was complaining about his contract (along with Sprewell) early in the season and he's only under contract for 1 more year with us from the trade with Milwaukee, and since he's having hagging hip problems, the best thing to do would be to trade him to an interested party in hopes that we could still get something for him. I fairly certain the Wolves are not going to up his salary and there were even some wicked rumors that Wally would be getting traded this year too, but that seems to always be the trade rumor each offseason. It would be nice to put something together for a trade involving Wally and Cassell for somebody else. Perhaps somebody with the likes of T-Mac? He is a free agent at the end of this year and I don't know if he's agreed to resign with Houston or not, and I have no idea whether or not he would even be interested in coming to the T-Wolves, but I can dream ;) There's also the small issue of whether or not Yao will return to the Rockets next season and there's rumors circulating that he could be a Laker next season, which would lead me to believe that T-Mac would not want to remain a Rocket without at least 1 other serious prospect to take that team to the next level.

Given that Wally & Cassell do not seem to get along (ala Sam not passing to Wally), I would seriously doubt that the Wolves would find any takers for a Wally / Sam combo, unless there was a 3rd team involved with Sam going to one team & Wally the other.

Personally, given the amount of money Trenton was paid and the amount of time he spent complaining about playing time, I would not be surprised to see he & Sam packaged together.

Bottom line is if the Wolves are going to get rid of Sam, they will need to package him with a younger player that has some worth (other than Sam's expiring contract).

Sam shoots, Sam doesn't pass to anybody, except maybe KG

Uh..... I dunno. See Im remembering when I was a kid, and how I grew up at 5, or even 7, but we all know I was a freak job, so lets not send your kids down THAT road. :)

Some of the Scarecrow/Maggotmask scenes are pretty intense, but theyre short. Obviously Bruce watching his parents get popped aint friendly. Then when the whole section of the town goes on the Scarecrow's drugs.... it got a little intense. Bruce's Peyote trip was interesting as well, at the beginning of the film.

Its an EXCELLENT film, but I dont want to scar your children.*yet* :D I would recommend you go see it first if you can before you bring the kids. As PG13 flims go, its not gory, just some psychological horror stuff and drugs. Its weaker violence wise than say the 1989 movie, but there is a LOT of intensity. When Crane sees Batman *not trying to spoil it* well.... I could see how a kid would get creeped out, and then theres the Scarecrow on horseback, fire and brimstone....

All in all, I wouldnt take Maddy and Brady to see it, but Maddy isnt 7 yet, and Brady just turned 4.

Total judgement call D. Like I said, low on bloody violence, not a lot in the bad language department, just drugs and terror in a scene or three. I really dont know how sheltered or not sheltered your kids are bud, so Im a little scared to say its okay or not okay.

The real kicker is.... Im sure your kids are smart, *Thank Amy for that. :D* but I could see the plot being a little hard to follow for kids. Especially Bruce's socializing ways, and a few of the one liners. Its a GREAT story, but some of the deeper stuff is going to fly over them probably.

You know me, normally Im a stinking hippy liberal when it comes to most things.... but there is a scene or two that might rattle a kid. I'd think I'd say yeah to Riley, but Mac should probably sit this one out, depending on how sensitive she is. If she gets nightmares easily, then the maggot mask and the demon bat might not be good for her.

Man, all this responsibility.... no wonder I dont have any kids. :)

Thanks for the quick review. Seeing how it's so blessed HOT & HUMID today, we may be catching the matinee. Amy & Mac would probably hit Herbie Reloaded or something to that effect.

We took 3rd place yesterday, which was a lot of fun. Our Friday night game went 2 hours, as we were tied after 5 inning, tied again after the first extra inning, but won in the 2nd extra inning. We then 10 runned the Phillies, but lost to the Cubs in the bottom of the 5th!! DAMN CUBS!! :D We then got 10 runned by the A's, whose coach I really dislike. He rotated his best 3 players between SS, P & 1B, which is technically not against the rules, but even the director of the league wasn't happy about it. I can't imagine that too many of the parents could be either. So it was going to be the A's & Cubs for the championship. I really hope the Cubs won!!

Taking 3rd wasn't too disheartening for any of the parents or kids. The kids were drained from playing 3 games, so 1 more might have really pushed them over the edge. We then had a nice relaxing cookout at a beach, so the season ended on a high note. Now, on to soccer or football. Riley is still saying football, but that could change at the drop off a hat!!

Saw Batman and really liked it guys. That was a good tip for something to do on a Sunday night. I would not take little kids to it. When I was little, I had nightmares from reading the morlocks/woods on fire part from the Time Machine.
Got a lot of new memorabilia on my webshots site, including Gaborik game worn skates, so please check it out:

Also, the Gaborik and Modano customs I had done are on there. Sorry I never posted pics here. I currently have a Bouchard and a Roloson being made (Bure and Khabibulin poses) by the same guy. He's really good at Wild and North Stars, so I'm sticking with him.

Camp Snoopy Mall of America has Bird and Soriano chases. They are kinda expensive and I found no takers for them but maybe one of you guys might want them.
