I picked up a flyer at a TRU today.

I dont know if the are signing or what, but I think that everything should be free (autos, pics, etc.) because its at a TRU.

Yup, series 3 is the bounty hunter series. Boba, Jango, Zuckuss, Bossk, Dengar and 4-LOM. Unfortunately, in the case of 12, 4 are Boba (3 reg and 1 silver), 2 were Jango, 2 Zuckuss and 2 Bossk, 1 each of Dengar and 4-LOM.

You can get the bust ups at any Suncoast. They retail for $4.99, so not to much damage there.

Did anyone ever take Duke up on his offer of Cooperstown figs? I know he offered a set of Cooperstown 2 for $40 and then $30 which seems to good to be true. He never contacted my by phone, although I left my number, said he got sick on a day we were supposed to meet, and eventually stopped responding to my pm's. Flake and a half in my book.

Also, I note the horrible spelling(indicating an underage individual) and the fact that the other guy in the above mentioned trade has said nothing about things working out.

I have about 20 Pm's from Mr. Duke .... First it was he was sending payment for an autograph baseball he wanted. Then he had like 10 cases of Cooperstown 2 and was selling sets, singles, and had one chase set. I offered to buy the chase set and we worked out a trade for my Garvey ball and Cal Ripken Cards + some SLU for the set. He claimed he sent on last Monday and I asked for his shipping address as I wanted to ship his stuff from me out before Easter (glad I did not). He never emailed me his address and I am in Fresno, Ca and figured 5 days was plenty. When I asked about the package he claims he forgot to send out and will get it out ASAP and toss in a free open Catfish Hunter for the screw up .... I get the tracking # a few days later and it leads me NOWHERE.
I sent a pm to him about the bunk tracking # and he said he will check it out. I dont care if you can spell or read Dexter Manley but dont come on here with all kinds of BS and then try to claim you have been working hard .... I have a wife, 3 Kids, pets, and a job .... I find the time not to drop lies like Canseco drops names !!!

We decided to walk next door and I used the ol' switch-a-roo at the self checkout counter to get an Ep.III Anakin/Vader color-change saber for my nephew. At the checkout, I scanned a regular Vader saber and then told the lady that I didn't want that one, that I was going to just get the one and put the Anakin/Vader saber in my bag. :)

In the new MLB 11 Sightings Thread, Mark stated they were shipping regional cases, like Vlad to So Cal, before the regular assortment cases started showing up in early May. So people in NY are seeing A-Rod and Piazza, Illinois is seeing Prior, etc.

Sean May would be nice addition. But he hasn't declared if he's going to enter the draft. Andrew Bogut would help too. But the only way Lakers get him is to get the first pick. Hmmm, get the first pick and have Phil coaching again next year. :D

I've still been looking around the boards, but haven't been posted in a long time. Hope you're all doing well.

Nice to see some fellow Angel fans out there! Great to hear that a bunch of you got the Angels Vlad figure. I haven't had any luck yet, but I've only checked a couple TRU -- Industry and another (I think it was Covina). No Vlads either in the "Opening Day" promotion areas or in the regular SP sections. Can't wait to get two of them (one to open!). Actually I want to get three or four -- two for me and one or two for my girlfriend.

Did anyone go to any of the U2 shows in the last week. I went to both Staples shows... awesome stuff!!

I hear what you're saying about KROQ... I don't know how many times I tried to win tix for that "secret" U2 rehearsal and some of the concerts. Never had any luck. And you're right about the prices -- I refused to pay agency or scalper prices for them!

Actually I was lucky... I bought tix for both Staples shows from Ticketmaster. My girlfriend and I were at the Tower Records in Covina the day they went on sale a few months ago. Even though I was about 10th in line (after the ticket drawing), and was phoning from the cell while in line, still no luck. A few of us stuck around (even after they said all four shows were sold out), and they eventually released some wheelchair accessible seats to the general public. So we bought a pair for Tuesday's show. We got Wednesday's tix the day of the show. Ticketmaster happened to release a few tix around 5 pm -- right when my girlfriend was at the Robinson's May outlet... and off to the show we went.

Sorry for the long read... guess I get excited telling the story! You should try checking Ticketmaster on the day of the shows when U2 come back in the fall. Hopefully you'll get lucky!!

Thanks for the offer, man. I was about to take you up on it until... my girlfriend stopped by the TRU in Industry on Saturday and she four Vlads there (around noon or so). She bought all 4 -- 2 for me, 2 for her! :) Kind of surprising, given its close proximity to Frank & Son's. They must've got a case Friday night and put it out overnight or Saturday morning. She also found a few "Darth Taters" Mr. Potato-heads at SunCoast -- she bought one for each of us.

I think it's the same situation (hook-ups) at the TRU Santa Monica as well. I went to that store when it opened one Saturday morning before Christmas (the first and only time I've been to a store when it opened to look for chases!). There was a guy waiting outside with me who -- from what I take it -- goes pretty much everyday. He works at a restaurant on the 3rd St Promenade, so I guess he goes there before he starts his shift. He was a nice enough guy (we chatted a little bit about McFarlanes), but it was a little disheartening when I found out that he knows the employees by their first name. He wasn't just looking for SPs too... I heard him ask his employee/friend if any new Hot Wheels had come in. The guy told me he's also friends with the owner of the Puzzle Zoo store. They have a bit of everything collectible-wise -- it's also on the Promenade.

They closed since they are not making any profit, it was a small TRU store. Parking is terrible and with the real estate price is sky rocketting, they figured it's better to sell the building. So the only big toy store in Santa Monica is Puzzle Zoo, in the 3rd st Promenade.

Since I noticed some of you guys also collect Star Wars, I just want to share some of my loose collections that I'm trying to set up. The Jabba Palace is still long way to go, and I'm trying to fit them all in this small show case cabinet. I need something to raise the Jabba higher etc. (That's my problem for not having a big show case cabinet, I got this one from IKEA) Also, I already replaced the Han in the Skiff with the corrected version (I took one from the one in the Jabba Palace Diorama)

This Skiff is the one with error Luke (the hip was backward), you are right, it's really nice. That's why I couldn't just put it in the box. I'm tempted to replace also the Luke with the later version but I haven't gotten a chance and still deciding which Jedi Luke. I like the Pit of Carkoon Boba too, I have one ready to open and also the Carkoon (from the Galaxy series) but I'm still trying to find out where to put. This Boba is from FF Boba :o which I didn't realize at that time it would be hard to get (I got an extra one though). For the Han, I was thinking about your suggestion but he changed his pants to brown right before he was carbonized. Thanks for the comments.

Very cool set up! I unloaded most of my SW stuff after the mega clearance sales of a few years ago. Got most of my money back, thankfully. I kept all my Vader and Anakin stuff and still have some random figs that will probably end up going to my nephew at some point. I've really gotten into the Unleashed line ever since I found the Ep.III wave early and have been collecting the .45 scale Master Replica lightsabers since day 1. Wish I had the budget to do the full size line.

I found a blueFuhr and a white oilers Gretzky at GS (Northridge) yesterday. Also the TRU in Van Nuys has about 18 Vlad's and from the looks of the leftovers had about 3 or 4 cases of Cooperstown.If there were any chase figures the crew over there takes them all. It's a good place to find regular figures but you will never find a chase oe retro figure there.

I live in Van Nuys. I'm going to hold onto the Blue Fuhr. That was the piece I wanted the most. The Places to find chase figures in the Valley are dwindling. Only Tru, KB, and a few Gamestops sell Sportspicks now.There are hundreds of collectors in the valley, and in most TRU's here the employees grab all the chase figures. I was looking really hard for the Ruth chase and didn't even come close to finding it. Usually I found my chase figures at GS, but most want you to reserve the case now. Oh well!

Regarding Van Nuys TRU.......

It's not the employees. It's the rat bas---d scalpers who run "Kitty World" next door. Or at least it used to be. I know the TRU manager a couple of years ago limited what the "Kitty World" people could buy, but I do not know if that is still in effect.....or if the employees at TRU caught on and started doing it themselves.

Kitty World is pretty bad, but I know for a fact the employees grab everything. I was friends with a guy who worked in the electronics department. He collected football figures and told me he couldn't even get chase figures because the stockers grabbed everything for themselves. If they got 2 or 3 of the same chase piece they would then kick one over to him. Kitty World buys cases of Sportspicks and then triples the price for the chase figures and L.A. figures. When I first started collecting I made the mistake of purchasing a few figures from them!

Hey guys I went to F&S today. SoCal SPs- Legends 2 Gretzky Kings reg $9 - MLB 11 Guerrero Angels reg $15. At TRU in Pomona they had 9 Vlads and 1 Mays chase (Mets).

Supposedly they were all supposed to have the white jersey Mays, yet they screwed up and put the grey jersey Mays in. They said it was being corrected, but all I ever see is grey so white may end up being the HTF one.

Lots of Vlad's at Porter Ranch TRU. They will not scan so you have to bring up another MCfigure so that they can scan the price into the register.

Also several Bonds/Mays 2 packs. Kinda have the feeling these will not be big sellers in Los Angeles. From Coop 2 they had Ruth, Hunter, Ripken, and Schmidt. Seems like they just put out some cases. Some jerk had searched through them and left a mess of the display with figures lying all over the place.

I went to Champs (northridge mall) on Tuesday to buy some tee shirts and scored a DS Blue Roy Williams for 14.99. They had ton s of NFL chase figures. They had L.T., Moss, Culpepper, T.Green, A. Green, Urlacher, C Johnson, plus a few regs. The price for the chase figures were 21.99. I didn't really want any of those figures so I left them hanging. I went back today to return one of the shirts and they were all gone. The manager said some guy came in and bought most of the chases all in one shot. So check your local Champs stores.
