So, for my weekend report... GO UCLA!!! (I hate USC!) ;)

OK... Friday, I went to KB Toys in Santa Ana and found a Willie Stargell chase. Bought it. Then yesterday I went to TRU in Santa Ana and they are closing. Walking around, first I found a hidden Phil Esposito chase (hockey is my first choice always!!), and as I was going to the register, I found a Mike Mussina chase. 3 chase figs and I am as happy as a puppy with 2 peters! ;) I know they're not worth a ton of money, but it's sure fun to find em!

I want every hockey fig ever made. For the other stuff... I am a huge Dodger fan, I like the Angels, and I am a Laker fan that hates Kobe. ;) Glad to meet all of you!!

Hey guys... hope you're all doing well. I just saw this on the Ducks webpage (I also posted this on the Sports board)... the Ducks named Scott Niedermayer captain, with Rob Niedermayer named an alternate and Federov keeps his "A" from last year.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm a little irked that Keith Carney wasn't named captain, or at least kept as a regular alternate captain. He's worn the "A" for quite a few years now. Seems like a slap in the face to Carney. I guess the whole "out with the old, in with the new" continues with Burke and Randy Carlyle at the helm.

And I still can't they (salary-) dumped Steve Rucchin. Rucchin was my fave Duck, an all-around class guy, great captain and played hockey for my alma mater in London, Ontario!

Hockey figs are my favorite as well. I'm about 8 figs short of a complete NHL SP collection (still need to finish Legends 2 chase - Black Kings Gretzky and Blue Bossy and almost all of the variants for NHL 11 except Hemsky, plus the two big boys in my signature). I also buy figures from the local teams in other sports and certain figs in other lines that I like, plus any figs of Canadian players or teams.

I know I have a lot of extra NHL figs (chases and regulars) -- I'll be doing a full inventory in the fall. When I do I'll be sure to let you know what extras I have. Anything in particular you're looking for?

p.s. I found my first chase in a loooong time just a couple of weeks ago!

I finally found NFL11 at Tustin TRU, a fresh case no less. Picked up a Jason Elam(only chase in the case). The case had no Joe Horn or Willie Roaf. Also picked up a Randy Moss and reg Brady.

BTW The Elam is up for trade, I'm looking for chase of the following: Big Ben, Willis McGahee, Julius Jones, and Tom Brady.

There was another guy there as well. He seemed to be a little too good to talk to me, as I tried to make conversation. If it was one of you, sorry.

2) I was in Vegas a couple of weekends ago -- I went to the Kings-Avs Frozen Fury exhibition game (lots of fun!! :) ). I tried playing a bit of Texas Hold 'Em Poker and had a lotta fun. Do you guys know if any of the local casinos have poker tables or a poker room?? I don't mean tournaments with large buy-ins, or those with the pros, but lower tables. I played at $2-$4 tables in Vegas (though they also had $1-$3, $3-$6 and no limit tables as well).

On another note... busy day today... Kings and Ducks start in about an hour or so.... And los Angels play later! Not to mention that Lost is on later as well.... Good day to be a SoCal Sports Fan!! Enjoy the games tonight everyone!!! :D

Thanks for the info about the poker rooms, JayDouble and Masahiro714. I guess they're like the ones in Vegas -- with various table limits, etc. Have either of you ever played in them?


I play the $100 or $300 no-limit tables at Commerece once or twice a week. It's pretty fun and you see a lot of pros.

Those are $100/$300 no limit tables, meaning you pay $100 or $300 to play. I think blinds for the $100 table are 2/5 and the $300 tables is 5/10.

Poker casinos make lots of money, they take a rake from each hand played. The rake is the percentage from the pot won. Each casino is different. An example: Say you won a pot of $100, if the casino rake is 3% you'll only get $97 from the pot.

Hey guys, I've gotta catch up on some posts.... but for now here's some NHL news for now...

This is really last minute notice, but the Red Wings are practicing at the Health South training centre right now (scheduled from 1 pm until 2:45 pm). Meant to post this last night, but was zonked after getting home from the Oilers-Kings game at Staples.
WingNut 25, hopefully you see this in time or already know about it! You're going to the game at Staples tomorrow, right?

Also, the Columbus Blue Jackets are scheduled to practice there on Saturday from 12:15 to 1:30 pm. Too bad NHL 10 and the Rick Nash figure's not out yet... would love to get one of them signed by him!

For those of you who may not know... Health South, or Toyota SportsCenter as its now called, is the Kings and Lakers training facility in El Segundo (near LAX). LA Kings and visiting teams practices are open to the public (just like Disney Ice, or is it Anaheim Ice now?).
