my laptop ate it so I haven't been able to be online but thank god for insurance if they can't fix it I'm getting a new one. Anyway went saturday to the Rafael Furcal signing at Toys r us and he was very nice signing a ball for my son and taking a picture. As soon as I get my laptop back I will post pics. That same night I went to the Dodgers game and they lost but I got top see Nomar's first game. Looking forward to the Dodger Angel game on May 21st.

That is awesome. I was at the game too... I was about 3 rows from the field, near Vlad. Zito, warmed up, right in front of us. Also, had a good look at Jay Payton's HR steal.

Anyone seen NHL 12 yet??

Being the third major release recently for NHL, I am really not feeling too happy about this release living in SoCal. The Team Canadas slowly floated around... Legends 3 was absolutely non-existent.... I NEVER saw a Dionne in a Kings uniform, which really sucked since I watched him play for many years. You'd think, since my local TRU had 5443215245 Jackie Robinsons, that we just might have gotten a few Dionne figs, being that he is wearing a local teams jersey and everything.

I hope that the lack of NHL figs to an area that has 2 NHL teams doesn't drive me out of the collecting business. I guess I'll wait and see what happens over the next month to decide. Because if I have to buy every figure I want from the secondary market at ridiculous markup prices, so that the people here make 2 and 3 and 4 times the amount that TMP does on their figures... well then I'll go ahead and sell everything I have and find another way to spend my time and money. Come on TMP... show SoCal some hockey respect!!!!

I won't be surprised if vendors at F&S get NHL12... but in my book, they are the secondary market. Anyone who goes through their stock and adjusts the price compared to what the figure is is considered secondary market to me. Hell.. unless 65,000 Sidney Crosbys show up, I'd be surprised if anything they sell at F&S would be the same price as anything at TRU, KB, WalMart or any other toy store you find these at.

Consider this pre-*****ing, because of these are as hard to find as the last 2 sets, there won't be any complaining from me... but just a big FOR SALE sign.

I have season tickets for the ANGELS, and im not going to be attending all the games. Just mainly the A's games, and a few other games.

I have 4 seats in section 246, right field pavillon. For weekday games, Im asking for $20. For weekend games (Fri-Sun), im asking for $30. The price of a ticket, for one game, is $12 each, but when you buy them for the season, they come out to $6.

I would rather meet in person for any kind of deals, but I could ship, given enough time.

Im sure there will be times, where I will be going to a game, and Ill have an extra ticket or 2. If that's the case, and anyone wants to go, its my treat.

Im always opened to trades as well.

I have to check with a few people, for the Dodger vs Angels tickets. I know I had promised a few co workers, some tickets. I need to double check if they still want them.

I plan on going to at least the friday or Saturday game. I was able to pick up some tickets, for both games, in left field. Those ones were are regular price, plus the ticket master fees. I think those came out to about 50. Im not sure, when I do go, if we are going to be in left field or right field.

Well... I didn't see any fellow boardies, but it was productive trip. I got a pretty mint looking Khabibulin and Pronger, and right in the front and center... ROENICK COYOTES!!! That clamshell is near mint, because it is pushing out a little at the top, and the edge is folding a little on the bottom, but I DON'T CARE!!! I am STOKED to find it!! Of course, there was 1 Roenick Kings hiding above in the cubbie, but he was trashed. They had every regular figure in great shape except for that 1 Roenick....

The Angel fans in attendance were being very ****y since they had a 4-1 lead and this 2 Angel ans were shouting and telling everybody the score real loud. Well no sooner than later there was the immediate 16-3 response. needless to say the final 8-4 score made for a lot of unhappy Angel fans. There was more police officers than usual for a Dodger game. I did see a guy wearing a Dodger shirt that said "Los Angeles Angels my ***, there is only one Los Angeles team the Dodgers".:D

Baseball cards have become too expensive. I buy my topps regular set every year at Target....actually I receive it as a christmas present...and thats about it. I can buy 10 sps at regular price for the cost of a unopened box of cards.

And the auto prices for the National are ungodly. Rod Carew $69? ***? When I went to the one in 96, Pee Wee Reese was $45 and Sandy Koufax was $70. Around that time, I also got Stan Musial, Ernie Banks, Rollie Fingers, Dave Winfield, all for $20-25 each, except Musial was $30. The prices for auto's are sick and not something I really want to spend that much money on.

I was very impressed with Magic Johnson he was very friendly and cordial with us. He even took the time to ask my son his name and age and to thank us for coming. It is very rare to meet an athlete that does small things like that and leave a very positive impression on a young kids mind. I was glad to see for myself that Magic is very friendly unlike other athletes. It was a good day and I finally got Magic's authograph after 26 years :D

Hi guys, nice to see this thread still going strong! I know I haven't posted here in ages... good on you all for keeping it up. :cool: Going back a ways through the thread, nice pictures of Hockeytown, WingNut 25, it's always a great experience to go to your favorite teams' home arena. My girlfriend and I went up to Edmonton a few years back and had a blast. I timed the trip with the Oilers sked so we saw two Oilers games back-to-back nights -- vs the Blues (Oilers win) and vs the Kings (Kings win). I took a bunch of pics, maybe I'll post them sometime (when I find them). It's funny too, one of the Oilers customer reps we met was originally from SGV -- I think Covina. A little tip, WingNut, they let you go down to watch the warm-ups for both teams at Staples and the Pond as well. As soon as it's over, the ushers will tell everyone to leave. There's always a big Wings fan contingent every time Detroit plays the Kings.

Great pics and stories about Pete Rose, 14lalo, and Magic Johnson, Duckmyster. It's great to hear stories that even superstars can be great with fans too. I've had numerous great experiences with a lot of hockey players (most of the Kings, Ducks and Oilers players from the last few years). I saw your post about Kevin Gregg as well, J3-M8 -- good stuff!

Wish I could make the planned get-together on 9/11. I'll be up in Toronto for a friend's wedding at that time. :( But hopefully I can make the next one... and maybe we can make the next one in LA for those of us on the LA County side of things. :) I think Edgar might have the right idea... perhaps a Ducks-Kings game at Staples?! :cool: I know the Kings (and Ducks for that matter) both have group ticket rates. The Kings give out free hats to everyone in your group as well. Actually, didn't we talk about doing this last season, but we never got around to doing it?!

How about this for another possible idea for a future outing... poker! :cool: I know JayDouble and I have both played at Commerce. And I've seen those legendary games that Lance has with Sam and a few others. I know Commerce has a "bring-your-home-game-here" deal. Basically if you have a group, you can come and have a friendly game there and Commerce provides the table, dealer, chips, etc. plus table service too. I don't know how much this costs, but it might be fun. Of course we could have a low limit table with $1-$2 blinds or something like that, so no one will win or lose a ton of $$. Unless we want to play for SportsPicks. ;) What do you all think of something like that?!

Happy belated birthday, King Smokey. :D I still have that $4 Bossy figure that I picked up in Toronto on my last trip there, Billy. LMK if you want me to mail it to you or just wait for the next SoCal boardie outing and give it to you then. Can't wait for hockey!!
