Zombing: aka: Zombie-Bumping: Bumping long-dead threads in ways that turn them into unholy threads dedicated to wandering, shifting and random topics, as a shadow of their former selves, and with a taste for brains and a tendency to attack the first page.

Mini Board Dictionary:
1st : This need no explanation. You're fuggin first.
2-Up: Sculpted figure that is the base for what ends up in the stores. It is twice as large as the fig, thus its name.
6" Scale: Figure scale on which 1" would correspond to 1 foot.
Accessories: Any additional item(s) that are included in the package or associated with the action figure which are sold separately. Such as weapons, vehicles or playsets.
Administrator (Admin): Runs the message board and is not nearly as involved w/ communicating w/ the board members as the Mod.
After-Market: The market upon which an action figure is sold after it's initial retail availability. Usually associated with toy shows, conventions, privately owned specialty shops, and collectors selling their personal collections.
Articulation: a combination of joints that allow movement and poseability. Some articulations is very useful and some is pointless. Articulation tends to break up sculpt in some areas. It is very cool for poseability though.
As$peg:Plastic rod, often with a ball joint on the end, that couples the figure's torso with the lower hip section. Originally coined by Biohazard.
Ball Joint: derives its name from its appearance and gives articulation in 2 planes. Most commonly seen in necks, shoulders, hips and some ankles.
Banned: Jon says bye bye to you cause you messed up. Can be permanent of temporary but disables ability to sign into your account.
Bendie(s): A type of toy manufacturing process wherein rubber is molded around a wire armature making the piece extremely flexible. Some figures are entirely constructed this way while others may have only parts (such as arms, legs, etc.) incorporated into the figure.
Blackboard: The old Spawn.com message board or the UNREAL Spawn board
Blister pack: traditional action figure packaging, plastic "bubble" attached to large cardboard backing see also J card
Chase: a figure that is inserted randomly once into every few cases, requiring you to chase after them.
Con (i.e. Bot Con, Comic Con, Sci-Fi Con, etc.) A "con" (short for convention) is a planned event based on a theme where dealers of the after market sell SWAG and other collectibles, merchandise is given out by raffle or contest, special guests make appearances to sign autographs, etc. Usually sponsored by a local interestgroup of the particular genre chosen for the event. Many cons have their own exclusives available.
Crate: The Alimighty Crate, source of the power and majesty of all that is cool. The Crate is a Scorpio, likes beer, long walks on the beach and is a total playa. It knows all, yet claims to know nothing. The Crate was forged by the Great Eric Roberts himself, from the bones of Vin Diesel, Chuck Norris, Mr. T and the immortal Captain Jean-Luc Picard and filled with blessed VHS copies of Chunk from The Goonies. Eric Roberts would eventually pour his soul into The Crate, making it the ultimate in bada$sery, and then breathed life back into his own corpse... essentially twinning his soul. Our God is a Stackable God. Bow to its mighty, stackable power.
Custom: Altering a fig in any way that makes it different than it was when it came from the factory. These can be as simple as a light blackwash or as complicated as creating your own fig out of parts.
Customs: multiple customized figures. Also, the branch of a government who deal with people and packages that cross borders. If you're getting something from another country, it will pass through customs.
Cut Joint: Also known as a swivel joint, a cut joint is one that only moves on one plane and derives its name from its appearance.
Dealer: A person who sells toys on the after-market.
Death Sausage: The nickname given to Gemini from Warriors of the Zodiac Series 1
Derail: As in to derail a post or thread. The process of changing the topic away from the intended subject
Die Cast: It’s made of metal… like TF’s used to be.
Duties: Fees determined by Customs to be paid on items that are crossing into thier country. These can hurt.
Enigma: a puzzle or riddle. See: Joranthalus (Enigma wrapped in riddle coated in mystery)
*FAINTS* : just too cool / no farking way / OMFG i cant believe you did that / blood not reaching brain (something that thejikas does every freakin thread)
Goffed: Deleted or edited by a mod (not necessarily the Goffster himself)
Haloz: McF cash cow, causes extreme distress in some older boardies, not to be taken in large doses, may be hazardous to your wallet.
Hoarder: collector who grabs any and every fig of value that they will hold onto and not let the other collectors have, even when they already have 1 or 2 or 12. Such people are usually very irritable while in toy aisles and have been known to lick items in order to keep you from grabbing them. Obsessive collectors who are more about acquiring and storing large quantities rather than being concerned with the quality or in many cases, rarity.
Haul: coming home with something you didn't have before (be it figs, cd's, a man or woman)
In-house property:a licensed property that is held internally and thus requires no fees to purchase the rights. Spawn (TMP) and Traxx (SWP) are perfect examples of in house properties.
IP Address: Your internet provider address. For non-dial up users this is what will be banned and prevent you from logging on. For dial-up users your IP is generated every time you log on and prevents permanent banned sometimes. In that case an IP Area ban would take care of you but would only be used on the Sled since it takes out 95% of the people in an IP area.
J-Hook: A J-Shaped hook on the cards that is used to keep figures on the pegs... older McF toys with bubble cards had them, but they have returned in the age of clamshells
Licensed property: a "well known" character(s) (such as Matrix or AvP) is licensed from their original holders to manufacturers to be used in merchandise.
Loose Figures: Toys that have been set free. Sometimes you just gotta let your boys (or girls) breathe.
Lurker: Person who does not post on the board but visits. They may or may not have a board name registered.
Man Cave: the designated part of a home dedicated to all that is man, but excluding the garage. Man Caves typically include TV's, entertainment centers, offices, collections, sports memorabilia, etc. and sometimes have signs on the door that say "No Girls Allowed." Man Caves are also known as Caves, Dungeons, Chambers of Awesomesauce and Testosteroneville.
Mang (Meng): Messican for "man"
MOC Figures : Figures that are enslaved in their plastic cages, suffocating, wishing to be set free.
Moderator (Mod): Person in charge of a specific forum. Deals with its upkeep, updates and generally is the person questions should be addressed to.
MUNG: teh c00l3st band of teh 3v4r!!!! teh r0xx0rz!!1!!!!!!11!! BBQ!!!!1!

New Toy Stink/Smell: That pungent and addicting odor that comes from inside the packages
n00b : One who exhibits the characteristics of n00bd0m. Usually begins stint on board w/ lame intro or MM request thread. Not time nor posts keep n00bz from becoming Regs or Vets..
Paint apps: short for Paint Applications, each painted-on color counts as a differnt application
Pegwarmer: figure or line that is so unpopular that it sits on the pegs for months, often even when on clearance. Pegwarmers are the Rick Fox of action figures, except he's got Vanessa Williams (this joke was funny before they divorce, trust me). Pegwarmers are also group of board members who post at the Pegwarmers message board.
Peeker (aka Peter Pecker, Peekerman, Peekernaut, Peeks, etc.): my illegitimate father and perhaps one of the greatest bass players to ever come out of Kanada... a collector of massive porportions, he's also slightly fond of beer.
Post *****: A person who posts entirely too much, is almost always on and spends a ton of time on the boards. (I am a post wh0re)
Proof-Of-Purchase (aka UPC): An abbreviation for the white area which displays the bar code for a retail item. Found on most all product packaging from potato chips to toys.
Prototype: These are the test molds of future figures. Usually made for the sole purposeof showing the detail of the figure before it goes into full production and for the most part appear unpainted. Most prototypes never leave the buildings of the manufacture, but some do slip out to be sold on the secondary market. Sometimes they obtained by action figure magazines to be given away in a contest.
R3: Repainted, Resculpted, Revisited... Different than a normal repaint line because of sculpting changes on things such as new heads and paint apps that give the line a totally different feel. (Series 22)
Rehash: Taking a pre-existing sculpt and reusing it. This could mean reusing whole figs or only parts/accessories. Rehashed parts are seen very often in lines with articulation.
Reg: Board Regular. Contributes often and adds to the overall board experience.
Repaint: New paint scheme on a pre-existing figure. Other than a new paint job there are no changes to the fig itself. (Most Reborn/Refresh lines or customs)
Roto: short for roto-casting, a type of toy manufacturing
Sculpey: A wonderful substance that has a wide variety of customizing possibilities.
Sculpt: the actual distinctive look given to the figure. It can be highly detailed, but to achieve this articulation will probably have to be sacrificed in some areas.
Scalper: A person who buys a toy with the intent of selling it above retail/cost and not for their own collection.
Shortpack: Figures that there are less of in the majority of cases. This usually means 1 per case, but sometimes 2 per case is also a shortpack if the line is small.
SKU: Stock Keeping Unit. A common term for a unique numeric identifier, used most commonly in online business to refer to a specific product in inventory or in a catalog. UPC's are commonly used as SKU's.
Sticky: Topic that the mods have stuck at the top of the board so they don't get lost in the jumble of madness that we post. This allows easy access to info and polls instead of having to search for the Daily Updates.
Suicide/Suicide Attempt: When your toy decides it must be free of you and jumps off the shelf onto the floor
Suspended: a new lesser form of banning that tokesone was the guinea pig for.
SWAG: Acronym for Souvenirs, Wearables And Gifts, SWAG includes everything from posters to mouse pads, shirts to shot glasses. For Spawn figure collectors, SWAG would cover Spawn games, stickers, cards, etc.

Shempites (Shempers): those former wandering nomads who once posted at the Fake Shemp, currently located at shemp.forumer.com
Sledders: those who post at the35pagesled.
Test-pull: the first "test" of a new toy mold, commonly gray, or left-over colors, that simply tests the quality of how the toys are going to eventually be molded. May or may not feature final articulation
Threadjack: taking a thread by force that someone else started and turning it into your own. This is the extreme version of derailing.
Thread Rat: those who do not start their own post and live continuously the threads of others. Never fail to jump out of a sinking thread only to take refuge in the nearest active thread. Often derail topics.
Tooling: the "molds" that the plastic is poured into.
Troll: Annoying board member who basically contributes little and causes problems whenever and wherever possible. Likes to be fed.
Toy Fair: yearly event for manufacturers to introduce upcoming product lines. Unfortunately, what you see is not always what you will get.
ToyFare: the toy magazine with the grudge against McF for not attending Toy Fair anymore because of ToyFest. They are now the greatest printed champions of NECA, SOTA and Mezco. Unfortunately, what you see is not always what you will get.
ToyFest: a monthly upgraded catalogue of TMP products for the year. This also comes with an article taken from fan suggestions and allows the company much more time to work on the lines rather than rush to get them ready for Toy Fair. Unfortunately, what you see is not always what you will get.
UNREAL'ers: those who post at the UNREAL Spawn board.
Variant: a figure which has multiple variations resulting from anything from missing peg holes to alternate paint apps.
Vet: Veteran Board Member. Been around the block a long time. Some love em, some hate em, but they were here long before most of us.
Whiteboard: The Spawn.com message board.



A Discussion on the use of the word "Grail":

Grail is derived from "Holy Grail" a holy relic long desired by many throughout history but never found. In terms of action figure collection, a grail is something very rare, a figure or object which will take considerable investments of time, effort and/or money to get. its a figure of legendary status, and may or may not have been sold at retail, but in very limited numbers. everyone's definition of a grail cannot be different because a grail is something that the vast majority must reasonably recognize as being rare. most true grails appear to be things that the masses are ignorant of because they're paying more attention to "false idols". a figure from another market CAN be a grail if it's not imported en masse, but it still has to be very rare. a grail is a figure that is nigh unobtainable.

Grail can be applied to niche collections. the grail of ML collectors, the grail of Spawn collectors, the grail of Movie Maniacs collectors, etc but it does not apply to mass produced figures, whether they were shortpacked or chase unless they were extremely limited (less than 1000 and that's pushing it). Collector's Club figures don't even count as grails unless they are sufficienty rare enough. a CC label does not a grail make.

ML Deadpool is not a grail. Cult Classics Mohawk is not a grail. MM Series 1 Freddy is not a grail. Urizen is not a grail, except for one of the paint-masters, or Black Sig, or T. McFarlane, or one of the no-sigs. Chrome-Jason IS a grail. Pewter Raven IS a grail (if the Book of the Dead never comes out) Bloody Chainsaw Ganado is not a grail. ML Phoenix and Dark Phoenix are not grails. Sportspicks have a decent number of grail-worthy figures. The employee-only JLU Hal Jordan figure IS a grail.



How to Post Pics on the Board

1) Have the photo on your hard drive
2) Upload the photo to a hosting site such as Photobucket or Imageshack
3) Copy the photo's URL (right click on the pic and copy the url it gives you)
4) Paste the code into the post box on the board
5) Put tags around the URL

6) Repeat as needed
7) Post

new guy pissed me off (spilled paint...PAINT! on my new linoleum floor, and did ****-all to clean it, left it for a day).
this, of course, made me rather angry, as I can't use any harsh chemicals on this floor.
he was in a meeting tonight, and when he came down from said meeting, I confronted him. not very politely.
he got kinda lippy, and since I've been there 2+ years longer, I got pretty mad.
it's a stressful week, lotsa work, and a funeral tomorrow.
so I got *****ing mad.
