--Book of Shadows just messed with me a bit and i liked the freakiness

--AVP.....well the slow motion was cool, the predators looked cool, LANCE HENRIKSEN, cool effects, the setting was cool, story was ok

Anchorman - it's like watching Monty Python...you have to be in the fun/silly mood

S.W.A.T. - I don't really like Colin Farrell, but I think it's a good cop movie. All the training sequences are cool.

Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - no one that I know likes that movie. It's damn funny.

I Heart Huckabees - Marky Mark was hilarious as the 'environmentally sensitive fireman' and the way Jason Schwartzman hated Jude Law's character was some great cinema.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith - my wife and I are the only people that we know that saw this film that liked it - Pitt was his usual amusing self, Vince Vaughn was funny, and Jolie...well, no wonder Pitt left Aniston in the dust!

Hey guys I created this thread a while back and just thought I'd give it a good old necromancing. new movies out means more to post. I'll add these 2 to the list of hated movies that I liked:

Live Free or Die Hard (Not TOO many people hated this one but a good number did but I simply loved it. lots of action)
Ghost Rider (I really don't know........just something about a biker with a flaming skull saying corny comic book lines like "eat this" and "nice jacket" that made me feel satisfied)

Celtic I'm beginning to think you miss the point. This is thread is specifially created for movies people love that most others HATE. No movie bashing should be in here. And a movie is "overrated" if it was praised by people all around but based on opinion you think it sucks, not based on how many people know about it or saw it. From what I know many people hated AVP therefore making it underrated. same thing with Ghost Rider, I've not heard of a single soul who like that movie so how is it overrated?

Ghost Rider may have been the top movie but no one liked it. That's what makes it underreated, not the fact that alot of people saw it. That's called "Popularity". An example of "Overrated" would be the video game "Halo 2" in my opinion. Lots of people love it but frankly I find nothing special about it

It's the complete opposite over here. Everyone hates it. There was alot of hype for the movie, that's why many people saw it. Doesn't mean they liked it. That's why you see a movie in the theatre's, to see whether or not you will like it

I think Alien 3 is a fine film. The last proper alien film, believably taking place in the same universe as the previous 2 films unlike alien 4 which was just a monster film and a crap one at that. Alien3 had at least 2 good characters other than Ripley in charles s dutton (?) and charles dance. Resurrection had none, not even Ripley, that I gave two ******s about. So Alien3 definitely.

Also Titanic. At first it was overrated. But now the backlash against it has been such that it has gone completely the other way and become underrated. Its a good film.

And I've always been fond of Waterworld. Great adventure film the likes of which we just don't see in these CGI-burdended days. Pirates of the Caribbean and its sequels can toss off with themselves. Overlong, pointless action scene after pointless action scene with characters who really don't hold my interest enough to keep me awake during said pointless action scenes.

I'm gonna add a few more movies that i believe are underrated feel free to chip in:

AVP R - YES, the acting is horrible but why would you go in expecting good acting in this movie??? The fight scenes were incredible between Wolf and the Hybrid, and i'm glad they didn't rely so damn much on CGI. only when it was neccessary.

Hitman - What can I say, I'm a fan of the games, and I loved the action and style of the movie. The musical score was pretty friggin badass too!
