I'm sure that creativity is why saint seiya became such a hit worldwide, the way the approached the zodiac sings turning them into armors was brilliant.

Like Saint Seya or not, you really should check the super articulated figures by Bandai. Some of them with their die cast armor are just kickass, like Taurus, and the pope is very cool, too bad they're expensive.
