View Full Version : WHY DIDN'T TMP LIMIT ALEX SMITH PURCHASE TO 2 PER HOUSEHOLD INSTEAD OF 2 PER ORDER!?!

:( I'm very disappointed that the Alex Smith figure sold out so quickly. If TMP had limited the purchases to 2 per household instead of 2 per order such as what is done with exclusives, more of us would have had an opportunity to purchase these. Any chance there will be more in the future? I'm really disappointed.

And so the griping begins.....

It's all hit and miss and at the whim of the servers. If they stay up for the next big CC crush.

Hey,

Did you like how the Cincinnati ran all over the Titans on Sunday ? My cousin drove from Cincy down to Nashville for the game.

31-23 is a roll over? I've come to grips that Tennessee just isn't very good this year...... okay they're awful. Cinci is getting tons of hype yet they can only beat the inexperienced Titans by 8  Roll over?

Mack, didn't mean to offend any Titans fans with the avatar. I've been a Rams fan since 1967 and it's the only Superbowl they've ever won. I'm changing the avatar to the Rams fearsome foursome. My apologies to you and other Titans fans.

No, no, it's all good :D I was just giving you a hard time. I'm not offended, not one bit. Hey the Titans lost, yeah, but why did it have to be by one damn yard. Have a good one and good luck finding some Smiths.

Atleast the toy club, who dont compete:rolleyes: , with us regular, schmuck, retailers had some to sell in THEIR cases....;)

Kim - I think it sucks you guys didnt get ANY Alex Smith's and the Spawn store has cases of them. To me he should have been treated like a chase figure and not made available through the store.

But they knew it was money for them if they did it this way. Look how fast Ogden sold out in the club too.

Yep. I bought an Alex Smith today at the retail store because the case I bought from Kim didn't have a Smith. The limit was just 1, so I couldn't get an extra for sremmaz or the like. By the time I paid, there was only one Smith left at the Retail store (they only got 36 to sell retail).

Sadly I missed out to. I finally came to realization that I can't afford to be a completist no more with chase figures. But it really sucks when you can't even get a set of the regular figures without paying an arm and leg. :(

sucks, i just got home hoping to place an order and there out already. i dont get why they would make a regular figure that no one can get. if they dont think it would sell in high amounts it shouldnt be a figure in the first place. and if its all for monetary values thats what the variations are for. this is so frustrating

So is this Release Schedule correct??? Rice/Sanders 2-Pack on the 31st? Since NFL 11 was sold on the 17th can we expect Rice/Sanders to be true to listing? Missed on the Alex Smith but had everything else. Will have to try to pick up one somewhere other than EBay.....

First, let me say that I feel your plight on the A Smith figure. I spent an hour trying to buy World Series tix online today and got shut-out. Why didn't they set limit to two tix per REAL FAN instead of 4 tix per every scalper!?!

I had plenty of Smith product (as much as Ruffusberger) but within an hour after it went up it was gone - poof! Typically, only Club exclusives receive the "per household" limit so that's what I did in this case. I understand that the sets w/Alex are just now hitting retail stores - hopefully most of you will snag a few.

Dave - knowing that the A. Smith figure was made in far lesser quantity I would have thought it would have been more limited.

Then when the store opened - you were limiting walk in purchases to 1 per person - which sucked because someone was going to pick one up for me.

So its 2 per order online and 1 per person in the physical store - meh.

Glad I only collect my teams - and I won't lose sleep over not getting one

I wish you got your tix though man - knowing your a die-hard Sox fan... Must have been fun taunting Steve the past week

Had McFarlane toys included THREE Alex Smith's in each case like they did Brady they would be peg warmers just like Brady:) ....I guess the burning question I have is how many of you guys were big Smith fans BEFORE you found out they were going for 70 bones on ebay?.......my guess would be NONE of you;)

There is an unknown dealer that comes to this board that I was talking to about buying 10 for people on the board when he had them for $13.95 each, and I said I would take but wondered if there was any chase, when I finally got an email I responded and asked how I could pay and he no longer had any for sale, but on his website now he still has them, but they are 3x that price now!

So, there are a few people here who are getting a bunch of Smiths, but most arent getting any? If they are that rare (I havent been paying much attention lately) they probly should have been more limited. Hopefully they will be as plentuful as Ogden and Phins Seau.

Same here. I could care less about the value. I just need it for my set.

Agreed 100%. Why didn't TMP just make the Smith a full-on chase a la Elam? I used to collect every fig, regular & chase that came out. It was fun & sometimes expensive, but not impossible, and to me, well worth it. Then chases became near-impossible (at least where I live), so I started going w/ regs & chases of figs or players that I really liked. Still do-able. Now I can't even get a set of regs w/o holding up a bank first and traveling halfway around the world. Very frustrating.

And the worst part? I'm a "grown" man crying to a bunch of strangers that I can't find the toy that I want! :p

Dont tell me that I didnt want one...Go read the official niners thread, I been pimping him pre-draft...

I collect every Niners, A's, Sharks, and Lakers figures that TMP makes even if they sux. I would of been much happier if they did make the Packers Aaron Rodgers instead of Niners A. Smith, would care less about getting it. These figures are even more popular now that the scalpers are getting them more than the collectors, it's SLU over again.
