Hello,
SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0) hits shelves today, featuring five different covers for you to pick and choose from (or, if you are so inclined, you can, as some people do, collect all five).
As usual, I have posted a discussion thread over on the COMICS (http://board.spawn.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=1&f=10) board for anyone who would like to share their thoughts on this milestone issue – your likes, dislikes and opinions on the new creative team’s first foray into the world of the Hellspawn…
SPAWN #150 – Discussion Thread!!! (http://board.spawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234655)
If you visit these message boards on a regular basis, or have taken the time to browse through the COMICS (http://www.spawn.com/comics/) section of SPAWN.COM, you have no doubt already seen the various covers associated with SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0), but for those of you who, for whatever reason, have yet to feast your eyes upon these glorious works of art, here ya go…

Cover by Jim Lee.
http://board.spawn.com/images/board/LILTODD.jpg (http://board.spawn.com/images/board/BIGTODD.jpg)
Surprise “sketch” cover by Todd McFarlane (including the Jim Lee’s penciled artwork (http://board.spawn.com/images/board/BIGJIM.jpg) for his cover as a special bonus on the back of the book).
I am tempted to post some interior artwork showcasing a few of the new characters who make their debut in issue #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0), but to avoid any spoilers I will wait until tomorrow to do so. Of course, if anyone who already has the issue would like to scan in some artwork to share with everyone, that is fine.
Aside form today’s release of SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0), we also have plans to announce a number of our upcoming action figure lineups for the first half of 2006. Not all of them, mind you, but a majority.
Here are few insights into some of the questions you may have once the NEWS (http://www.spawn.com/news/) stories have been added…
“What is McFarlane’s Cyber Units all about?”
Think SPAWN Reborn 4, but with a twist (more details to come).
“3-inch SPAWN figures? What are those?”
The first series will be made up smaller versions of an array of figures from throughout our history. This isn’t replacing any of our other lines and isn’t meant as a sign of things to come for our normal 6-inch lines. It is more that we simply wanted to offer something a little different along with our already established products – hopefully bringing in new fans, while at the same time offering longtime collectors something cool and inexpensive to add to their collections, if they so choose.
“What’s up with Movie Maniacs 8?”
There is no Movie Maniacs 8 at this time.
(pause)
Allow me to explain, briefly. We have plans for two boxed sets in 2006 (one is a two-pack, the other is not) based on different licenses, both of which you are already aware.
(pause)
These boxed sets are meant as a bridge for something… well… something different. Something new. Something we have been working on for a while now. Something that we feel will allow us to use our talent and creativity in way that stands out from the current flood of film-based anthology lines heaped upon the market. Don’t get me wrong. We have in no way lost interest in doing lines based on a varied collection of characters, but Movie Maniacs is about to change. Evolve. And while figures are still part of its future, this “something different” will offer you a whole new way to enjoy your favorite films.
Further info about the products mentioned above, as well as others (including McFalrane's Military 3), will be available in the NEWS (http://www.spawn.com/news/) section shortly.
Oh ( I almost forgot), and we will also have an announcement regarding Todd's presence at an upcoming East Coast Comic Con in our surprise mid-week NEWS (http://www.spawn.com/news/) UPDATE.
