Hello,

Today’s DAILY UPDATE is a bit of a science experiment. An anomaly. Both a comic book and action figure update using the same three images for both purposes. How can it be? Read on to find out…

Yesterday, SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0) hit shelves and along with the number of interesting points of… well, interest that such a milestone issue presents - new creative team, re-defined focus on the direction of the series and a renewed effort to bring back some of the “creep-factor” that goes hand-in-hand with a story about a Hellspawned warrior – there was also the introduction of a number of new characters, including the following…

The Disciple…
http://board.spawn.com/images/board/1027disciple.jpg
“First and greatest of Heaven’s warriors,” SPAWN has never faced a Heavenly adversary like this before. And after their confrontation, he may not want to cross The Disciple’s path ever again.

Man of Miracles…
http://board.spawn.com/images/board/1027ofmiracles.jpg
Mysterious. Very mysterious. This stranger may have a much larger role to play in all of this – human destiny, Heaven and Hell – before all is said and done. Or, maybe, he’s just another piece set in motion to further manipulate SPAWN. A player in the game, or a pawn, only time will tell.

Thamuz, Master of Tortures…
http://board.spawn.com/images/board/1026thamuz.jpg
A denizen of Hell, Thamuz has designs on breaking the mind and spirit of Al Simmons and learning his innermost secrets, some of which Al may be completely unaware of.

So, there you have it, three new characters from SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0) (and there are others that I will share with you in the future).

If you have had the opportunity to pick up your copy of issue #150 (http://www.spawn.com/comics/comic.aspx?bookid=1-150-13-0), or if you just want to find out what some of your fellow board members thought of the issue, make sure to visit the…

SPAWN #150 – Discussion Thread!!! (http://board.spawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234655)

Then, of course we have these…

The Disciple

Look familiar? Good. Each of these characters is set to appear in our next line of SPAWN (http://www.spawn.com/comics/series.aspx?series_id=1) action figures, set for release in the first half of 2006.

Hiya folks!

Everyone take a moment to bow down to jdarling22, the winner of the 2005 MLB Playoff Challenge. As the newest sports guru on the board, he’s received a permanent plug underneath his board name when he posts, and will receive his pick of the three prizes available. Kudos to audioslave_phreak and jomo3640 for finishing second and third. I’ll be in contact regarding your prizes soon.

For today’s update I’ve got some hints and tips regarding our upcoming MLB 14 line. It’s scheduled to arrive in Toys R Us stores in early-to-mid February 2006. It’s a TRU exclusive that won’t be available in online stores (including the SPAWN store). As previously stated it’s an update/head-swap line similar to MLB 13. We’ll be revealing the identities of the players in a few weeks when we show off the photography, but for now here’s some hints to their identities.

1. It’s a six-figure lineup.
2. Three of the figures are making their Sports Picks debuts.
3. The six figures represent five different baseball positions: catcher, second baseman, outfielder, pitcher and third baseman.
4. Only ONE of the figures is a straight re-paint. The other five all required some new tooling around a base figure you’ve seen before (new heads, arms etc.)
5. Since most TRU stores are in the midwest and East Coast, the line certainly slants that direction.

That’s it for today!

yeah

I just think joints would detract from the sculpture quality of the figures. Thats what makes McFarlane figures McFarlane figures. But thats me, and this is why we have opinions :)
