Kody's new project: Punks The Comic

Brand new project in the works called 'Punks the Comic', it's a punk rock comic done in the style of punk rock flyers. Art by me, and story by Joshua Fialkov.

Just a few quick notes on this, the comic is done entirely using collage. Old school. X-Acto blade and a glue stick and doing the colors in Photoshop. It's really a blast and unlike anything being done in comics today. Hopefully you'll dig it so we can keep doing it.

H_A, I think I found the problem, it was the font size in Safari and FireFox right? Bumped up the font a few points, should be a lot easier to see now. Let me know.

Cool feedback! Thanks to everyone that checked it out. I've put two test pages up for anyone that's interested. We made some great progress today with lining up publishing. Hopefully we'll actually have some dates in the next few weeks.

OK, took us a while to get everything lined up on this, but we're one step closer to having our publisher locked in, and we started a Punks MySpace Group (http://groups.myspace.com/punksthecomic) to help coordinate some of the guerilla marketing ideas we're going to try.

For those that don't know, PUNKS is a new upcoming comic by me (Kody Chamberlain) and the lovely and talented Joshua Fialkov. The basic concept is a punk rock comic done ENTIRELY in the collage style of punk rock flyers. I'm doing all the art on this with an X-Acto blade and a glue stick. No drawing, and no Photoshop except for the final coloring.

Sorry to bump an old thread guys, but since there was some discussion of the book I thought I'd mention that we're in Previews this coming issue for a July release.

A big thanks to all you guys (and gals) that supported us while this thing was in the works. And an even bigger thanks to those of you that pre-ordered the book. Our numbers were good and we're already working on the next book, it's a Christacular Special, you'll love it.

Anyways, pick up the book and send us some feedback. For those of you with blogs, columns, etc, give us a shout out if you can squeeze it in, we'd really appreciate it. It's tough for such an odd little book to get the word out.
