All the effects you can add to your pictures are pretty cool too. I do like the video chat feature, funny to see my goofball friends, but you're right, people do want to video chat while you're playing. And dammit, GOW has gotta come first!

Man, the Superman Returns Demo finally came out today, and my 1 month free Trial of Xbox Live Gold just ran out so I can't download it.
I really can't afford the extra money for 1 month right now, but I may just have to suck it up. Bummer.
you don't need gold to download stuff

Not this time - there is a lock on it until Nov 22nd for Silver Members.
So I took the plunge and got a month for 7.99 - it's all I can really afford right now. Next month I'll pick up the full year for 50 since it includes the $20.00 coupon off one game.
Oh well, gives me an excuse to play Gears of War online finally!
If anyone wants to play co-op sometime this weekend, give me a shout, gamertag is the same as the handle here.

Doh! Would have been great, CJF. saving 8 bucks woulda made more of a difference then most think :).
It was worth it though. It's a pretty decent demo. Feels like another game that has alot of things right, but also a number of things wrong. But the right are done so right, the wrong might be forgivable, or something.
Just hope they make a sequel, and have more time to develop it. There's a LOT of things to like about the demo, it seems.
Oh, and I'm of course referring to Superman Returns.
got a question about LIVE connection. I just found out for sure I'll be getting a 360 for Christmas YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... I won't be housing my 360 in the same room as my PC. I do have a laptop w/ wi-fi connection via router. I was wondering, would it be possible to hook my 360 up to my laptop and use that to connect to Xbox LIVE?

Alright .. can anyone help me beat the Tantive IV level on Battlefront 2? ... I don't have a clue as to what to do other than follow the objectives. Is there any strategy to this level, or is it just a matter of hope you out shoot the friggin computer. Which, I can't seem to do. I get Vader and pretty soon he's wasted. And it always runs down to one guy left and that's me. I can't figure this out. This one level, if it turns out to be a damn luck level, totally mars the game for me. It sucks.
Either the opening I get a rocket launcher in my face. Or enemies are just randomly spawning around me. I can't seem to figure out what to do. I can get to the point where I have to clear out the stupid escape pod passage ways and it's usually just me alone. And I can hold my own, but everytime I try to head for the stupid escape pod halls some rebel runs up and shoots me in the face with a rocket launcher. If I'm twenty feet away they break out the pistol. But if I'm right in their face, then that's a great time to fire a rocket.

I'll do a little digging... but yeah, if you can get the wireless bridge for $60, go for it as it should cause you less headaches. Just make sure your wirless security is less than WPA2 or the 360 won't see your router.

I picked up the HS-DVD addon for the 360 last night.
If you have a 360 and an HDtv, don't hesitate to buy this device. HD movies have such a huge WOW factor. King Kong looked amazing! $200 is a pretty sweet deal to move to HD.
Now if only MS would release an HDMI cord for the 360...

anyone hear if their planning on releasing one? Is there even a HDMI cable slot on the back of the 360 or on the DVD player?
PrimeBane

According to the information I've read, the 360 is capable of outputting a digital signal... they say that when demand is high enough (note to MS, IT IS NOW!) they'll look at releasing one.
There is currently no HDMI port on the 360 or HD-DVD drive... but if they make one it would have to plug into the same output that your current cables do.

so I'm confused on the HD-DVD... do you have to have an HD receiver or just an HDcapable TV in order to get the benefit of the HD DVD

Just the HDcapable tv. If you want to take advantage of Dolby TrueHD sound, then you need a brand spanking new stereo receiver. BUT, the 360 is having trouble with that at the moment so I wouldn't rush out to buy one... DD 5.1 will do for now. :)
And although the disks are 1080p source material, you can only squeeze 1080i out of the component cables... you need to connect your tv via VGA to get the full 1080p and from what I've read it doesn't look that great. I run a 720p signal into my HDtv as that's it's native resolution and the PQ is beautiful.

Can't really remember to much...as it's been a while since playing it....but I think it is just as you are saying. I would also be the only one left alive towards the end. Your "men" die off and none respawn for you. With Vader.......I just used the lightsaber throw alot. Do not bother with the choke. Stand in a doorway...chuck the saber...then move to the side of the doorway so you are not getting hit. At one point....I think...you'll meet up with Leia. Another good time to use the lightsaber throw....as her pistol does some nasty damage. Another option...is if you have any points left once you get Vader....kill him off quickly and respawn as your trooper of choice. Its harder then being Vader....but you also don't have your health constantly ticking down.

I picked up Smackdown vs Raw '07 earlier in the week. The game series has come a long way from the subpar button masher it used to be....but it's still no AKI-developed game (WCW vs nWo, WWF WM 2000, WWF No Mercy).

I feel I've gotten very good in terms of taking cover and tactics on the campaign, but I still don't feel 100% about my adversarial skills. I joined a game last night for around 10 minutes, and I felt like I helped the team a bit, but overall, I finished with 0 kills. He also let me try out his Project 8, as well. I have played all of Tony Hawk's games, but soured on buying them after TH3, since there wasn't really any new innovation to make me want to buy any more after that. Although Project 8 still has a lot of American Wasteland or T.H.U.G. to it, it's fun. I had a great experience on Live, as well. There were 8 of us, just skating (Both in free and Trick Attack), and just having a blast. It was a ranked game, but there wasn't a bunch of people acting like jackasses. It was a great experience. It's amazing to know that I could play random people, and not have to worry about the usual idiotas.

I totally agree with your opinion on this. I quit playing after THUG And Wasteland. And although I bought Wasteland for the 360, never even played it. but I downloaded the demo for THP8 and it was like playing TH2 or 3 again. Got the game the day it came out and am having a blast with what little i have played.

My buddy was saying they don't have that in this installment of the series. That's just his word, though, because I didn't play around with the various modes enough to verify if that is true or not. I don't think it would be a make or break thing where I'd base buying the game on that alone, but it is important to me. Of course, I prefer to use a custom skater, so I can pick my skater's tricks from scratch.

Gears is 100% about teamwork - I've been on teams with plenty of individual talent but since we're all in our own spot, guys just wreck us.
The most fun I had was a 3 vs 3 on clocktower, the 3 on my team would communicate perfectly. To start, we'd say how many of us were going up or down. Then we'd call the amount up or down. We'd call out who was getting what weapons, what side we were flanking, and in general just who had who's back on different rushes and whatnot. We ended up all having 8-12 kills, 8-10 downs, several revives each, and won a first to 8 like 8-3. Granted, the team we played wasn't very good, but we certainly weren't anything special either - we just understood our roles.
Personally, I am a guy who doesn't give 2 ****s about stats - give me the win and I'll take a 0 score every time. The coolest thing I saw a guy do was bait me by standing right behind a pillar, I ran up to chainsaw and his teammate was waiting in a blind spot to shotgun me right in the face. That's awesome, and thats what this game is supposed to be about.

Agreed. I didn't meant to sound like I had to have the highest score or anything (I don't play in ranked matches because I hate people who feel like their ranking means something  ), I just like to feel like I participated. Of course, being a decoy is a role, as well.

Anyone playing WWE Smackdown?
I picked it up. I enjoyed the improvements that Yukes made last year, and I really like the right analog stick control, as well as the total control. I mostly play local multiplayer when I do multi (I have about 6 guys who used to enjoy the heck out of playing the AKI wrestling games on N64---which the Smackdown games can't hold a candle to), and have never gone online. I still don't like how you can hold a guy on the mat too long. Sometimes, an opponent can be jobbed and beaten to Hell with holds while on the mat for minutes at a time.
I havent watched it in forever.... is the controls like the old N64 games??? Ive hated the newer control setups in the past
Sadly, no. The AKI team no longer does wrestling games any longer. They had moved on from their great games like WCW vs nWo World Tour, WCW vs nWo Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, and WWF No Mercy to the Def Jam series, but I don't even think they do those any longer. The Yukes development team seems to focus more on button mashing at times than actual wrestling holds. :(

What the hell is wrong with video game developers?! ... Do they even play their games after the get the done?! ... Do the video game testers have no connection to the outside casual gaming world that they pass off on every little stupid section of a game without regards to how frustratingly hard it might be?! Do they not even consider the lunacy of having you fight TWO friggin gunships in half life 2 with little to no cover, and the refilling ammo crate is out in the friggin open, their bullets just eat your health to no end and and the only way you can kill them is that stupid ass rocket launcher which they can EASILY evade and do. At the same time the one place you think you can hide those stupid antlions swarm around you because of that stupid pod and you can't run anywhere. This section sucks to hell!!!! ... Seriously, if any of you here are game developers, you guys need a serious reality check. The gaming world is not made up of 100% hardcore gamers and not all of us like sadistic, play the same section for 16 hours straight until you just "happen" to beat it out of luck.
and if anyone has any pointers they would be greatly appreciated. One walkthrough says find a crack in the wall if you don't want to fight them, and hit it with a grenade or rocket. Well there are no cracks in the walls. And one says that you have to actually defeat the damn things and then that tower blows up and you can go in. Well I tried blowing up the gas tower prematurely and that doesn't work. So, if anyone has any good pointers on this section.

just hide in the building next to the rocket crate and then when the gunship is in the open fire a rocket, but not directly at it, fire it away from the gunship and move the laser sight around so it can't shoot the rocket down
then move your laser sight on to the gunship and the rocket will usually hit

Lately everybody and their grandmother has been telling me about the greatness of Gears of War. So last night my buddy stops by and brings his over.
So we go through a whole act or whatever it is and sure I enjoyed it, but what is so great about this game????!!!
I agree the graphics are pretty, game play is pretty decent, but why is it hailed as the greatest game going right now? I'm not too big on shooters to begin with (I still love shooters though and really enjoyed COD2 and GRAW), but I don't see what sets Gears of War that much higher than the rest.
Really, it can almost be called "Doom 4" or "GRAW with Aliens" Anyway, that is my rant.
Thought I would add that, no, the game doesn't suck because I suck at it. I have achievement points that counter that.

My suggestion is to buy it from Target. Right now you get a FREE $50 gift card. And I believe that they are about to include Ghost Recon for FREE once they stop with the $50 Gift Card.
Target offers a 3 Year replacement plan, which is one year longer than the 2 year Best Buy plan.

Providing it can find your wireless network, the only thing you really have to do is enter the key. The 360 does the rest.

Well, Smokis, I guess it's not the second coming of Jesus for everyone.
I think people think the pop up and cover gameplay is pretty innovative. Plus, the whole chainsaw and sticking grenades to people thing.
The graphics are great, the weapons are cool, and it runs very smoothly.
Personally, I find the gameplay incredibly addicting. Both on multiplayer and SP.
I just can't get enough of it right now.
I'll have to check it out then, thanks. How does the warranty work though, would be able to get it replaced at the store?
Yes, from what I understand (after talking with them for a while) is that you send the system to them and you get a gift card/voucher to take to the store and they replace it. Basically the same deal as Best Buy.
After comparing the 2 plans, I felt that Target was the equivalent of the Best Buy plan with the exception that they offer 3 years replacement instead of 2 years.
You can go to Target and get the phone number off one of the replacement cards in electronics and talk with them about it. Or you can call the 1-800 Target number and see if they can help you. I called both of them a few weeks back but I can't remember the details. You should probably do it for yourself.
Oh yeah, one last thing. The Target plan is $20 cheaper than Best Buy.
So you save $20 and get an extra year of protection. Definately the best deal IMO.

Where did everyone purchase their 360?
I bought mine at Costco when I finally decided to buy. I had heard too many horror stories of the 3 red lights, so I decided that I needed a tried & true warranty plan. What better place than Costco, who boasts a lifetime guarantee on the products they sell (Other than computers)? It's $100 more to get a bundle, but that extra $100 covers another controller (wireless), and Play & Charge kit, and gives you the lifetime warranty. It's a deal, if you ask me.

Where did everyone purchase their 360?
I got mine at KMart in February when there was still a major shortage....they were the only store within 30 miles that had one (a core). Had to drive 45 miles to another KMart to get the HDD, again, the only store that had one of those. Traded in my original XBox and what games I had to buy the component cables, a wireless controller, COD2 and NHL 2k6.
My g/f was on a business trip in Iowa for the week and I was so bored I just had to go and find one. When she got back and started playing some of the arcade games she was more hooked than I was. I got no extended warranty of any kind - system manufacture date: 12/24/05

If you download something in HD, will it play in the same quality as say a movie you're playing in an HD-DVD player? It may sound like a stupid questions but it almost seems too easy.
Anyone else excited about this? The possibility of "renting" an HD movie for 5 bucks or so without having to own an HD player. (If that is the case here).

No, it wouldn't be the same as HD-DVD movie quality.
An HD-DVD is roughly 14-26 gigs for the movie feature itself. An HD movie download will be between 3-7 gigs, more then likely. So clearly, they won't be the same quality.

Don't get Call of Duty 3. I'd say if anything get Call of Duty 2 discounted and when you're done with that if you liked what you just played then move onto the 3rd one. I'd get Gears of War over GRAW and while they aren't identical games they share enough similarities that you'd basically be getting the same type of game if you got Gears of War.
Rainbow Six is a squad based game....so it's not really all that much like MGS at all. If you really liked Metal Gear Solid then I'd suggest Splinter Cell which some would say is just as good, if not better then the MGS series.

If you are a big sports fan, NBA2K7, is the best sports game I've played. I've always loved Madden, and its great. I've never liked an NBA game more than a Madden, but 2K is sweet. Gears of War is must buy.
On the HD-DVD review (yes it plays standard dvds) all they talk about is 1080P. My TV doesnt even have 1080P. SO for my 780P HDTV, the HD-DVD will look great compared to the 480P dvds I watch now. Right, I may pick it up. Anyone have it, yet? Do you like it?

Table Tennis is fun, but it's cheap...not sure I'd pick that one if I could get any 2 games.
I'd get Gears of War and Oblivion, which are in my opinion the best 2 games for the system to date.
Agree with this. Gears and Oblivion. Oblivion is one of the best games I've ever played. I was hooked on this game for a long time.

I wish I could get it cause I know it will be fun, just no money and I opted for Gears and FEAR instead, which they got as well because they have the money. And that's what makes having the guys on my friends list having it suck all the more. Because now I'm gonna be left out of the loop until I get it or they feel bad enough to play a game that I have.

Haven't gotten much into the single player of COD3, but the multi is extremely fun. Get some good friends together and go at it. Driving or jumping on the back of vehicles just adds to the fun.
My friends and I played about 6 hours of RS last night.
First off, if you have the camera, map your face. It's hilarious and very spooky how real it looks, I'll post a few pics in about an hour or so. We could not stop laughing our ***es off at this. Quick tip though, before throwing in the game, go inot the camera section on the far right blade and adjust the lighting. Then go in the game and adjust the lighting and warmth if you need to. One of my friend's kept saying his face was so bright pink it was glowing.
The gameplay is pretty tight, the story co-op looks a lot better than the multiplayer map sessions. I know that they had the graphics take a hit to keep it running smoothly. The guns and customization is a great feature, and you unlock extra stuff as you go up in rank. The little detail stuff is pretty cool. Blood spatters, death animations, bodies flying in the air from a grenade blast, the effects of being flashed from a fb grenade- are all very well done. And the sound is superb. Funny that each one of us said that when we first started playing. The terrorists chat and swear, and scream like girls when you light them on fire. They did a great job on the gunshots, ricochets, and overall ambiance. I am really starting to love this game.
Now for the bad. I know for a FACT they will have a patch out soon. This was so incredibly glitchy I can't believe it. Out of the hours and hours we played, only twice did all of our faces load so that everyone could see custom characters. Otherwise, it was the generic looking dudes from the demo. Sometimes one or two would load, but only for some. So the four of us really only got to see each other a few times. But your character would always load to you, meaning you could see you, but the others couldn't. Strange. Oh yeah, and we were bummed to find that your lips don't move on your guy. Hopefully they will patch that as well.
And the first time we stepped foot off the helicopter for the story, all four of us fell through the ground into a grey screen. Took us a while to kill ourselves 'cause the grenades would not stop falling. And there were other glitches too, some graphics tearing, some clipping, a board locking up. We did have a lot of matches that nothing happened, but it makes you wonder how rushed out the game might have been.
But all in all, this will probably be, for me and my shooter crazy friends, the one we play the most. There's a lot of good stuff in this game, just need them to get a patch or two out to fix the little things.

After playing it another hour or so after my post, I did find it more pleasing. My biggest issues are exactly what's outlined below. I didn't play multiplayer, but there were graphic issues that hampered the actual gameplay (i.e. glitches).

okay.. u can't put Gears of War and Graw into the same category.
Gears of War is a collaboration of HALO and GRAW.. from Halo.. you get the alien/monster plot and gameplay that involves MANY shots to get one kill (excluding the sniper rifle) from GRAW, gears of war takes the 3rd person tactical shooter element.
meaning... GRAW should be compared to a 3rd person tactical shooter.. and the closest thing is Rainbow Six: Vegas.
Gears of War should be compared to Halo.
other than that they are all great games... but Ghost Recon is definitely a fun game online ONLY. I actually give the multiplayer a 9.5.. and the one player a 7.
for gears of war.. i give the one player a 9.2 (could have been longer) and a 7 online... only becuz i dont like sneaking up behind people with a shot gun and they don't die.. especially when i put the gun to their head. in Ghost Recon if i put a pistol to your head.. you're gonna die. If I shoot u with ANY weapon in the head you're gonna die. Gears of War u can put a machine gun to their head.. and they'll survive a lil.
its fun... and i'm not really knockin it.. i just dont think Gears of war should be compared to Ghost Recon.. cuz they are 2 entirely different genre's of game.
this is my list of games u should get for xbox360:
1.Ghost Recon
2.Gears of War
3.Oblivion
4.Splinter Cell Double Agent
5.Dead Rising
6.Rainbow Six: Vegas?... i have to see wut the graphics are like in the real version becuz the demo version for multiplayer looked pretty crappy.

Hmmm....that kinda sucks.
Maybe I should get this HD-DVD player add on.
Does it play standard DVD's as well?
Yeah, but so does the 360 anyways. It doesn't upscale unless you have it hooked up via VGA, though.
Let me be clear, though - the HD movie download will still look notably better then DVD. The biggest hit will probably be in sound - HD-DVD offers Dolby TrueHD which is 1500 kbps or whatever the correct format, but for comparison, DVD is 448 KBPS audio - I can't imagine the audio on the downloads being any bigger then that.
Personally, I'll be "renting" the original matrix in HD asap.

Marvel game isn't free-roaming what-so-ever. Not sure if you've ever played X-Men Legends but it's basically like that. It's a great game but if you are looking for more of a GTA type RPG with giant open worlds then you aren't going to get that.

Yes so is Austin, Hulk, Hart Foundation, Roddy Piper, Bam Bam Bigelow, etc.
As you play through the story and gain money people are generally unlocked in pairs. Rock/Hulk being second you unlock right after Brett and Jim Hart
I thought the legends selection was great. First thing I did was try to unlock both the Rock and Hulk (2 favorite wrestlers of all time). Rocks move-set is perfect....so is the Hulks...but having his perfect makes him one of the most boring wrestlers in the game.

I noticed, and WOW! It raises a question, too, one that IGN was mentioning in their 1-year "review" of the 360----Will the hard drive space on the 360's HD become an issue in the near future? I, for one, don't really care to download all of that media, since my system is in my gaming setup at home, but for someone who has it as a central part of their entertainment setup might want to download all of that stuff. It could suck real fast for them.

Looks like Superman is a game to pass on ...
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/supermanreturnsthevideogame/review.html
Wow... did they ever rip on the game. I've got about 3 hours into it and I'm not declaring it the greatest game ever, but it isn't that bad. I've been a superman guy all my life and this is by far the best video game of the superman series made to date. That review also spans all the system that superman was released on. The game is nice to play on the 360 and I could see how they had to sacrifice a lot to get it on the xbox and PS2 and that is taken into account in the review.
I do wish the game had more, but they now have a very nice base to build on for future releases, if there are any.
The lack of multi-player kinda hurts, but its not like there are a lot of options for making this game MP.
They gave it a 4 out of 10, I think I would say the 360 version is more like 7 out of 10. The review also rips on the game for taking the health of the city away when you start trashing stuff... well duh!!! What did they expect, superman to be able to trash the city
Anyway, that review does point out actual cons, but I think the writer was more pissed that he had to sit and play the game all in one sitting, and yes the game will wear on you if you play too long at once. If your a superman fan, I would say the game is at least worth renting to formulate your own opinions.

After playing the demo, it really felt more like they had a great foundation to build a future game on then it being itself a well fleshed out game.

I played the Superman demo and hated it. Didn't look that good and was frustrating to control. I'm not surprised it's getting panned.
What does surprise me, even after playing and hating the Sonic demo, was how low Sonic is being scored. I figured they'd make improvements on the camera/speed and it would be coming in at least at a 7.5 rating. What a shame. Do these companies not field test their games before they release? I know it's not always the case, but why spend all the time and energy to put out a crappy game?

I was actually thinking about picking it up as well but since I'm so backlogged with games I decided against it. But i also think I wussed out on it since the one time I played it, it scared the heck out of me. Those atmospheric games are creepy to me.
Also saw Perfect Dark Zero for like $15 but didn't want to waste the money or the time.

Absolutely. xbox.com should have a list of backward compatible games on its website, but Halo 2 is definitely one of them:D
Most of the highly popular original xbox games are ready to go on 360, but the less popular or obscure titles might take awhile for backward compatibility.
What's your gamertag (if you've set it up, yet)? Mine are in my sig. Welcome to the club:)

That's cool about the gamertag. I picked up the Wii on launch day and haven't set up the online yet, mainly because I'm having a blast with Wii sports, Zelda, Madden '07 (best version of Madden EVER based on gameplay, imo), and I rented Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam and that's a lot of fun - the Wii controls have changed videogames FOREVER.
So glad to hear someone else with the same feeling I have regarding PS3:)

Yeah the Wii looks really awsome, but i'll wait till x-mas to get my hands on one of those Wii controllers. As for the PS3 it's just to damn expensive to get and there is really not that much of a difference between the two, and plus Halo 3 is coming!!! :D

Picked up a 360 yesterday with Gears of War and all I can say is wow - amazing!!! Can't believe I waited this long to get in on it......... Couple quick questions for the experienced if anyone can help me out:
1. what is the easiest way to transfer music over to the hard drive, tried researching online but the only thing I could find was that you have to rip the cd's again.......
2. Is the gold membership worth it? I noticed it mentioned something about multiplayer features - Is it needed for games like Gears of War?
Thanks!!!

Hey all,
Was just wondering ... is their a way to try Xbox Live Gold, free for a bit prior to subscribing? I'm still unsure if I will really get into the whole online thing so I don't feel like spending too much just yet.

yes, when you first sign onto Xbox Live (you get the silver for free, which you need for demos, updates, and the marketplace), it will give you one free month. Now if you signed up and didnt know it, and youve lost your first month, alot of games come with a 24-48 hour code for LIVE gold.

For both questions about Xbox Live Gold - if you don't have an Xbox Live account yet, you will get a free month for signing up for your Live Silver account. I bought a month for 7.99 right through my X-Box, and I plan on buying a year long subscription next month, so IMO it is worth it - I've never played much online but Gears of War will slowly be changing that once I get the free time.

1. The only way to transfer music is from CD. However, you can also use a USB cord, to hook up your MP3/Ipod and listen to the music off of that. You can also hook your PC up to your 360 and stream the music off of it. But for right now the only to actually put music on the HDD, is from CD
2. Gold is definitely worth it. Although you can play GoW without using multiplayer, I would say your only getting about 30% of the fun of the game.
Silver allows you to access the marketplace and get your game updates.
Gold is the only way to play multiplayer online. For any game

Xbox live gold is pretty much the only reason why I have an xbox... about 95% of the games I buy all have online play...i will prolly rarely finish the single player game but will put in hundreds of hrs on multiplayer games online... for me $50 a yr is a small price to pay considering im online playing almost everyday

I finally got an Xbox, I picked up Gun, Dead Rising, Condemned, and the newest WWE game, I'm looking to pick up Stubbs the Zombie and either Gears of War or FEAR.
I have a bit of a problem though, when I first hooked my xbox up I couldn't get the online function to work, so I made an offline profile with the same name as the tag I made on xbox.com. When I finally got the online thing working, I imported my gamer tag and info from xbox.com, but whenever I use the profile playing games, my save info, points, etc, is all on my older profile I made while offline. Is there an easy way to transport the info from one profile to another??
I love the xbox so far though, Dead Rising is great, Gun is a lot of fun, I also got a free digital camera for spending $250 at Circuit City.

Well, my launch 360 crapped out on me. Started freezing during Gears. Then I tried out madden and it froze again. Then my bro-in-law tried it this morning while I was at work and got the rings of death. Looks like I'll be calling MS on Monday.

The only thing I'm not sure on (Since Cory covered the rest) is if your Gamertag has to be re-established when you sign up "officially" after the trial.

Anybody else playing Smackdown? I don't even watch wrestling anymore and I still enjoy this game. The only problem is that there are way too many reversals. Almost 60-70% of your grapples are reversed and that's on normal:mad: Maybe I'm missing something. Anybody else having better success?

No I ended up cancelling my order after nobody reviewed the game. So I read around and it seems like an OK shooter, a few problems, but here's the kicker...12 battles, 20 minutes or so each. So that's about 4 hours of gameplay.
No way I'd even spend 10 bucks for a subpar shooter with subpar graphics with 4 hours of gameplay. I expect much, much more out of this generation.
Is the Gears of War collector's edition worth the extra $10? And do they all come in the tin case?

It isn't anything - I've bought 3 collectors editions - Oblivion, Prey, and GoW. All worthy of 10 extra bucks.
So over the life of the system I've had it for, I've spent 15 extra (had 15 dollars off in coupons between Oblivion and Prey) - so If you know where I can find Rainbow Six: Vegas for 15 bucks, just let me know :).

None of those games you mentioned were worth the $10. I'm not broke. I can spare the extra $10 if I feel like it, but there hasn't been one collector's edition for any system that was worth the money. Especially Prey, the freakin disc was loose in a tin case so it moved around and got scratched up before you could even open it. Perfect Dark was also a waste of my money. Trust me, you support them just as well with the regular edition. It's cool if you want to buy them, but they need to come with more content if they want my $10. The Mortal Kombat and Doom Collector's editions that came with older versions of those games were a nice start. The extra characters and fighting styles for Jade Empire were also decent. Making ofs and behind the scenes aren't enough.

I don't think you can get the art book anymore. I think it was for preorders. The bonus disc has lame stuff such as the making of Gears of War and........ not much else. If you can't find a way to get the art book with it, don't bother.

Different strokes I guess. I find tangible art books and nice tin packaging far more appealing than some old ass emulations of games I either already own or could just get a ROM of if I want it that bad.

And jesus, before I forget, my 360 is having alot more locking up problems then in the past. Strangely its almost always on a game saving, or on Xbox Live disconnecting or resetting. Hopefully its just a bunch of random hiccups and I don't have some red rings of death in my future, as I'll be very pissed. It's only been on Condemned (1 roommate bought it and had it lock up on him today during a save) and FIFA (other roommate has it lock up 3-4 times a week he says). I've had like, 1 lock up ever on an actual game, and 3-4 on the Rainbow Six Demo. So I don't really know what the problem is.

I just said that it was a nice start. Either way,$10 isn't worth it for some extras that I might look at once. The tin packaging means nothing to me since I won't even care about that once I'm actually playing the game. I don't stare at the tin package all day so it's pointless. Behind the scenes is also worthless since it's only interesting the first time. Seeing as how I can only find the collector's edition of Gears of War on my side of town, a lot of people agree with me and just bought the regular copy. I can find a collector's edition of any 360 game that has ever been made at almost any store for retail price. Why? They don't sell. For $10 extra, they better come with something special. They never do and I won't buy them anymore until they do.

Oh, Jamesways, Pyrrhonist, Oaktown2000, etc... sorry about my poor GOW skills the other night. I have no idea what I'm doing still (I have yet to curb stomp anyone). The game is gorgeous, the score and sound effects are amazing but it's still just not my type of game I don't think. I was stuck in one section the other night and finally got through it after retrying about 75 times (no, I'm not exaggerating). And that's on casual difficulty - I'm sorry to say this game is getting traded soon.

In all seriousness, I tend to agree with you. I really hated the packaging for Prey, as I didn't realize the back disc was going to be on a crappy little nub. The Oblivion and Gears collectors editions, though, I loved. And I only paid 58 for the Oblivion CE, so it was a no brainer for me.
Most CEs certainly suck, though, I think all of EA's and Ubisofts are a complete joke. But hey, I'm a sucker for steelbook packages - I have no idea why, either. Guess its the super art nerd in me, or something.
