Theres a spell called "soul trap". You cast it right before something is about to die so when it does die you can trap it's soul inside of a soul gem. Most grand souls can't be found until you are over level 20 thats when you start seeing different Lords.

You can turn a grand soul gem into a black soul gem once a week. When a beam of light shines down on the mountain range east of Imperial City (this happens once a week) you go to the altar that the beam shines down on and put an empty grand soul gem into it. Then wait a while and open up the altar again and the grand soul gem will turn into a black soul gem.

150 kills with your pistol unlocks an achievement. Go at it man. :D

the best way to do that is to equip the shield and the Glock. The Glock is an automatic pistol. You'll have unlimited ammo and you'll need to reload about every 2 times you shoot. Hella fun though!

I like the single shot pistol. It just isnt the same unless if it is an automatic. I am acutally pretty good at taking them down in 1 at most 2 shots with the MK23.

I actually just got done with this part of the quest. It's the last quest in the Mages Guild line before you switch from Polus to the "other dude". Don't be so hard on yourself though, Oaktown---You haven't done the Mages Guild stuff yet. I made it my first target in the guilds, because I'm trying to keep my spellcasting sharp. I've gotten my Destruction skill up to 71, and am now on the quest to find the Master Trainer. I recently did the quest for sneak regarding the Master Trainer, but my skill has been at 100 for ages now. :p

I can't say I'm overly excited about Homecourt, but it looks to be the best NBA Street yet. I'm more thrilled about Crackdown, but neither game has me as pumped up as God of War II....what a dilemma!!

I'm doing the Fighters Guild next. Hell, I've thought about joining anyways (I actually did last weekend...by accident when talking to one of the people you can join through), just to get the training options opened. I've discovered that many of the members of the Fighters Guild tell me "Only a member of the Fighters Guild" when I try to inquire about training. Knowing my luck, they probably are the ones I need to beef up my damn blade skill----I haven't noticed anyone training Blade in the various towns I've been to. Luckily, though, I've spent a good deal of gold on Light Armor & Destruction. Marc Gulitte in Anvil is rich because of me (As well as constantly using my Flash Bolt spell). :D

You wouldn't happen to remember who/where this spell is sold off hand, would ya?


It's Alberic Litte in Chorrol. I just happened to check in my own copy of the game, because I had to back track to Chorrol to retrieve some items I stashed there (I'm taking them to Arcane University to stash now, since most of the tasks I've gotten lately originate there), and I talked to all of them, just to see. He's got it.

I found a great combo. I am in the 3rd mission in the tunnels. Well I picked up the shield so I have that. Then my pistol is the Desert Eagle. That gun pretty much takes down anyone in 1 shot if you hit them in the body or head. It is great. Too bad you have to be pretty high rank to use it on online matches.

I put in some major time on Oblivion last night. I made the project 8 that night we posted back and forth. I made a big jump from like 16 to Project 8. Than that Tony Hawk challenge was actually easy, except the nail the trick part. That took me like 20 trys. But finally landed it. Your right though some of the Sick and Pro Skater Challenges just seem impossiable to me. I still havent beat P-Rods, Shecklers,Bam, the little kid and Lyn Z Hawkins and I dont believe I ever will. And I can not beat Beaver Mascots "Dance Lessons" Challenge, where you manual and have to do the flip tricks. Its a *****, and after I few times I get frustrated and lose my train of thought. I would like to beat the whole game and make #1. That would be one hell of big amount of gamerpoints.


BTW, How many secrets did you unlock so far, I have one. The one in Suburbia where the tree is in the middle of the street and you transfer into it.

I have 23/36 secret spots found. I have 54% Pro goals 18% Sick goals and 28% Amateur goals. 9/9 Pro Challenges completed. You have to have 80% between Pro and Sick combined to get ranking 5 which will let you challenge for rank 4. Then, you need 95% Sick to challenge for rank 1. You would have to be really good to get that. I'm pretty decent, but not up to the level needed to get rank 1.

Crackdown does look like fun, but the multiplayer coop is not as smooth as they make it out to be.

You have to accept someone into the game, then you exit the game, go to a lobby, start a new game, and then when they leave you have to go back to the menu.

Access to the H3 beta is tempting though, but I just can't afford it right now.

We all need to buy a new game with good multiplayer because I really can't do the Gears of War thing anymore. It's not a bad game, I love the game but it's like it's run it's course. At first we were all noobs and everyone was relying heavily on chainsaws and shotguns. Then all of a sudden we got talented and everyone was picking up all different weapons forming all different strategies etc. And now we are pros and as pros we realize, might as well chainsaw people and shotgun people to death because it's the most efficient way to get the job done. So that brings us to Rambofest 2007. And then to top it off, of course when games turn into shotgun/chainsaw battles latency is the skill modifier. It's like a damn RPG....West Coast receives +5 to shotgun, East Coast receives +5 to chainsaw...both coasts receive -5 to sniper rifle. Host receives Blessing of Awesomeness an enchantment that gives him +50 to all weapons.

I don't know when we play now it's just VERY remeniscent to Halo and I think thats a bad thing. Although all the other alternatives are pretty much bad things too.

well, the drawback to a different game is, we pretty much agreed to go to R6V because you could have larger groups than the 4on4 GoW provided, but you get 4 guys doing terrorist hunt. Meaning everyone else is scrambling for something to do. But if you do the sharpshooter, then you have spawn camping. I would like a onekill sharpshooter setup.

The only way around it, is to play NBA Street next week, and stay on it forever. Which I feel would be very easy to do

Last night...not even being able to hold the torque bow back...because it kept automatically firing on me after 2 seconds due to my connection....chasing you around that box and putting 6 shots of the shotgun into your azz from 3 feet away and doing absoulutely nothing. You'll noticed...I pretty much just said "***** it" and then just stood there and let you guys kill me. I'm done with it. 85% of the time, the game has nothing to do with skill or tactics or taking cover. It depends more heavily on whether or not your host...and if you're not....how close do you live to the host. I'm tired of having to shoot someone 5 or 6 times to get a kill and all they need is one shot. Or getting chainsawed from a mile away when I see you coming and am shooting you point-blank with the shotgun. I'm just tired of all that inconsistent crap. An online game with buddies should be fun.....and while it was at the begining....it isn't anymore. I don't need to be getting frustrated at Cory because he's the host and can down me from 15 yards away with one shotgun blast. I don't need to be getting frustrated at Icy Red Warrior because I was standing right behind him with my chainsaw running (black smoke coming out the side of it and all) and it not registering a damn thing. If anything...I'll just stick to completely random matches...that way when I get frustrated...I can just tell them to go to hell ;)

Thank you for saying that. I can count on one hand the number of times ive hosted. Simply because I know its an advantage, and I dont like people being upset at me. Kinda funny. I can be the biggest *******, and yet I dont like confrontation. Specially between friends. I told Pyro the same thing. Its not like the host can turn down his shotgun to 75% capacity or anything.

I just want to play with some pals online. Im stuck all the way out here in the northwest. Ive got a friend in Florida (i hope), New Hampshire, Massachuesetts, Atlanta, Indy, and even some in Canada. I cant travel to those places to hang with them. I have to do it online, and thru xbox live. And if playing a game strains those friendships, then I would just rather play something else.

The respawning is awful in that game, and the fact that people know they will respawn makes it even more awful because they have no consequences to their rambo actions. If you wanna play 1 death and thats it I'm all for that....the team sharpshooter no thank you.

Just curious, but are most people going to pick up Half Life 2 when it comes out? Team Fortress Classic was the first multiplayer shooter I ever played online and I'm very much looking forward to TFC2. :D

Seriously, though, I was talking to KillaB about this very thing today on the phone, as he drove to the Santa Cruz area, and I, to the much less exciting Stockton area. :mad: I told him I've more or less thrown in the towel on Gears. It is the singularly best experience I had online when it was new times (As Chugga said), but once most realized that shotgun express was the way to go, the game lost its touch. I have never seen a game suffer from lag so damn much in my gaming history. I told him that I had pondered getting rid of the game, and it had run its course with me. I'm not sure if it is a bit drastic, but it isn't like I actively seek sessions out any longer. I know I "showed my ass" the other night (I silenced Scott & deisboutit with my between-rounds rant :D), but as I explained to Cory, it was never meant to be personal against him, it was a rant at the game mechanics online in general. I denied the invites last night when Scott started them off (Followed by Chugga & Cory later) because I didn't want to end my Saturday on a crappy note of being frustrated.


Easy.....survival mode. You get one life...that's it.

This was exactly my response to Chugga's complaint about how some people play R6 online. Knowing you only get a single life should prevent people from storming through the hallways.

I'm one of those people that jumps ship when something becomes trendy. :p Dude, if you owned or were into the Elder Scrolls games, you'd understand why I choose to play Oblivion over any other game most of the time!! Last night was an exception, though. We got back into town around 6:00pm PST, and by the time I signed on after 8pm, I was supposed to meet up with POR2GEE for an hour or so of Big Bumpin' (Yes, the BK game), but the fool was a bit late. I figured that, since it didn't look he was going to show, I'd just do a few Fighters' Guild quests and sign off. You're right, though---we're overdue for some R6: Vegas. I need to continue my push towards Elite!!

Has anyone played the Crackdown demo on LIVE yet?

I know the game comes out tomorrow (I have it pre-ordered, mainly for the beta), but I played the demo last night and really liked it.

Personally I thought it was more fun than GTA - I like that it has a bit of an RPG element (and I don't like RPG's) of being able to upgrade/augment your character's abilities.

The only complaint is that the driving is so-so and the weapons that I was able to use seemed a little on the weak side...oh yeah, it takes nearly a full clip to ice one gang member...I guess I'll try shooting them in the head instead of the body, maybe that'll do the trick.

I also like the reversal of being a cop instead of a thug. As long as I don't shoot or run over too many citizens, I can pretty much do whatever the hell I want.

I was just going to be an adult and wait for Halo 3 to come out, but having played Crackdown, I think I have 2 reasons to pick up the game now...beta and the game, itself.

I can't tell you how much fun it is to kick people off of buildings:D

Nope, no code. The invite is built into the first....X number of discs that ship.

You have to go into the Crackdown main menu, go to downloadable content, and there is a "Halo 3 beta" option. It's greyed out until april or whenever the beta starts.

When the beta goes live, you will be able to select this option, from which point you will download the beta. Once you have the beta, the only way of launching/starting is through the Crackdown main menu. So, sadly, if you want to keep playing the beta, you have to keep Crackdown.

lol....my palms were sweating on that last one. After you guys died and there were like 30 left...i figured...ah...I'll be dieing soon. Then when it got to 10..I started getting nervous...like I didn't want to let you guys down. Then it got to 3...and I was like "oh shlt"....then it got to 1...and I was scared to death I was gonna die from the last guy...and he did in fact almost get me....whew...I would have been pissed if I did die. Needless to say...that's my highest kill count game so far in TH (35). I witnessed chugga pull off a 38 kill match once. That's the highest I've seen on multiplayer.

I bought the wireless network adapter for my 360 today. I love not having a wire strung across the place. However, did I need to buy it? With my wireless router came a wireless usb adapter. I didn't try it out, and won't bother now that I have the 360 adapter, but would that have worked? Did I spend $100 and didn't have to? If so, ah well.

I'm currently playing Gun. I don't get a lot of time to play lately so I don't figure I'll be finished for a while. I then intend to play some NHL '07 since I got a decent deal on it. I am interested in Lost Planet though. Anyone play? Is it worth buying? It's $70 but it looks pretty good. I suppose I could rent it before I buy it, but I figured I'd ask if it's good first.

This isnt exactly what your looking for, but try Supercheats.com there should be walkthroughs that'll tell where all the cog tags are. And read it and try and go from there.

Right on, man. I came out weak in the first game, then upped my count to 6 kills....it seemed to take me a bit to shake the "rust" off. In the game where we got the 'W', though, I was back to my older form. 24 kills is more like it, although it isn't close to some of the counts I've gotten before. I guess I need to keep in the groove on Rainbow....too bad Crackdown is in my Xbox after work tonight. :p

no, no, no... I will ALWAYS be down for R6V and there's a few of us here that feel that way. I think Chugga said it's run it's course with him and pyrrhonist has been caught up by the Oblivion thing, but other than that there's still a good 6-8 of us here that's good for any of the game modes.

Scott, if you want, a nice way to start out to get a feel for it is the Terrorist Hunt. Oaktown and myself I know are still working toward that achievement so up to 4 of us can co-op with that or do the co-op story even (which I would like to round up 3 regulars to try and complete with)

Not I. I already got the co-op ones (story mode/TH) on like the second night I had the game with Pyro and Por2gee. Now I just play them for fun or helping others with the achievement (helped avsfan get his TH one last night).

Crackdown is so freaking awesome - People that actually would say it's the Halo 3 Beta + Crackdown for fun are on...crack.

I mean, do people actually still play Halo 2? I've managed to get through another horribly awful single player level, and I'm really not looking forward to the level after that.

It's like they took everything that was so perfect in Halo, and then just not use that, at all, in H2.

I picked it up yesterday for $7... booya... it was my bday on Monday and I returned a DVD a friend got me and GRAW for it...

I played it for about 3 hrs lastnight and found it really fun... its just like the demo... so im guessing if you didnt like the demo i wouldnt pick it up... But collecting those little orbs is crazy addicting... i will prolly try and do some coop tonight... right when you startup the game you can download 4 new characters to play with... and whats cool is as you level up their appearance changes... im some white dude that sorta looks like solid snake

I was thinking of turning all that stuff off tonight if I host. I hate it when the only thing people do is throw nades. I mean come face me like a man. I was in a room today where this guy was was just planting c4 at the bottom of the ladder at streets so as soon as someone jumped down he would blow it up. It is just lame. I normally stay away from public rooms, there were some cool people on my team, but I was only in there to get some points because I only needed less than 1 bar to move up to the next rank.

I killed Cory a few times last night. He wasnt all bad on that turret. All you had to do was get your aim point while in cover then pop up and blast a few shots into his head and he is done.

I played part of the first mission... the thing that I hate the most about this game so far is how the screen goes blurry when you're shot.

There is also a very easy solution to that problem. DONT GET SHOT.

that's cool, if you want to restrict those things when you host. I may give it a shot, but I won't be a fan of it.

using grenades is still a part of the game, just like a shotgun is. Those are also almost the only way to defend against someone using the shield. Shotguns actually don't have good range so you have to be closer than if you use any other gun, pistols included.

I had my best Terrorist Hunt ever last night. It was after everyone left myself and XSsoCX were doing the Library and I got 46 kills. I had a few nice body piles going.

me and lord magneto just finished like 3-4 hours of crack down co-op, and boy was it great, we mostly orb searched, took out 3 los muertos bosses, took out 2 volk generals, then went back and finished the los muertos.good times.

Crackdown is officially my new Oblivion. How sad, too, since I was so dedicated to trying to complete my Guild quests. :D Just like searching for packages in the GTA series, going after orbs, whether blue or green, is a great time. Oh, and blowing the crap out of Los Muertos or Volk in between is a plus, too. At least I get some NBA Street Homecourt in when I got home from work.

I still want to play R6 (I think my campaigning for everyone to play it for so long requires me to :p ) ,but with so many other games I have now, playing in the T-Hunts right now (Which I've completed all of) just takes a lower priority. I don't want any of the "regulars" (Cory, Oaktown, Chugga, you, PrimeBane, avsfan) to think I don't want to play online with you dudes any more, I've just "shifted" my gaming priorities. Damn having a job!! :D ;) :p

I downloaded the Crackdown demo and liked it a lot. I also bought the game and haven't opened it yet, but out of caution (of possibly wasting $60) I rented the game today.


My question is:

If I play the rented game and decided to go ahead and keep my purchased copy w/the beta, does playing the rented non-beta copy first negate my purchased copy w/the beta?

Correct...to play the beta you will need your crackdown disc... seems like u will download the beta but cant play it without the crackdown disc...

Crackdown is a great game... I'm already 4 stars in Agility and Strength 3 for Shooting and Explosives. 2 for Driving.

Because I know you're going to send me a message from xbox.com and when I reply you won't be able to hear it or anything and I don't want to type out 3 pages worth of a reply with my xbox controller so I just wait till I see you online.

I figured why even bother replying if you can't hear it. But yes I'll probably be up for playing tonight....I've been going back and forth between Crackdown and NBA Street....I've been wanting to beat NBA Street but the story mode seems to take forever if you actually try to beat all of the challenges.
