I think I'm almost done with the single player story mode....I'm like 3 levels into the Dam.
So far...the part that took me the longest to get past was where your teammate must download the terrorist hub inside of Dante's theatre. You have to protect your teammate...protect the computer hub...and fight off a barrage of baddies fastroping in and coming from the theatre seats. Took me a long time to beat it...until I tried a certain strategy. Hint: smoke grenades are your friends.

I dont know if I will ever beat R6V. I started playing Crackdown last night and I am addicted like I was with the demo. I want to beat R6V story mode, but I've completed coop story mode and I hear its pretty much the same thing. So I dont know I am stuck right now on the Strip, maybe Ill try getting past that again tonight.

MLB 2K7 is officially my new favorite baseball game of all time

I downloaded the demo and really liked it, especially since baseball games became 'complicated.' It's been a long time since I enjoyed a baseball videogame.

It took me a little bit to get the swing timing down, but I did end up hitting an opposite field homerun (with regular swing) in the 3 inning demo. Pitching was neat, fielding was a little touchy (weird center field sluggishness - but it was a demo) - no problems on the infield, though.

I'm tempted to get it (saving a giftcard next week for GRAW 2), but will probably rent it first before I make my final decision.

Even the crowd was great. I was also surprised to see some 'real' ads in the stadiums. Pretty cool detail.


Oh yeah, I rented the new NBA street game and only won a single match - that whole 2,3,4, point dunk crap really pissed me off. I was up 20-17 and 20-18 two different times and lost because of uber-dunks. Lame. What the hell was up with the Herbie Han**** breakdancing crap? That was just odd.

The game was beautiful, though. Really nice graphics.

After Oaktown, Chugga, POR2GEE & I finished the co-op campaign, I had warned them that the ending to the single player campaign would be....disappointing....to them, and I feel that's a bit understating it. You, can, however, finish the game 2 different ways.

You too, eh, Chugga? I haven't played since Monday, but the last time I shut down Crackdown for the night, I was sitting at 481, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find the orbs I've missed. Of course, I've left the entire Shai-Gen & 1 Volk alive intentionally (So I could continue to grab Achievements), so I'm sure some of them are near the boss characters. I refuse to use one of the online cheat guides, I know I can find them myself!

I have a question - on the Volk portion of the game are there not as many Agility Orbs? I found a couple on the oil rig, and a few peppered throughout near Supply Points, but not so many random ones. Is it only me that has this problem? :confused:

I did a couple of them, and thought it was neat. I'm pretty lenient when it comes to suspension of disbelief (See: Crackdown ), but that was too ridiculous. I understand there needs to be a gimmick in the game, but that was a bit much for my taste. The game had terriffic graphics, though. I much prefer watching live basketball than playing it on a console. I got the timing down pretty decent from 'downtown,' if you will. They'd do their multi-point dunks and I'd get the ball, pull up short, and nail a 3, I mean, 2.

That would be one of my only problems with NBA Street. It relies almost completely on double dunks. You can hardly ever shoot 2 pointers unless you're on a fast break. Also, your teammates are complete idiots. They don't play defense at all (except for blocks). You have to manually switch to the defender and do all the work. It's funny because the computer doesn't have any problem whatsoever with stupid teammates.

For any achievement hounds, NBA Street is an easy 800+ pts. The only part you should have any trouble with is beating 10 people in a row online.

That got old real fast. I was able to get plenty of kills, but I might as well play Halo if that's all everybody is going to do. The Lancer used to solve that problem until they nerfed it in a patch. I'll give the game another try tonight and we'll see what happens.

I do...sometimes. In an extended day of playing co-op with some of the guys here, I had my game (When hosting) freeze something like 4 times. :mad:

That one wasn't too bad........after telling one guy to go to the computer.....i directed the other to take cover on the right side (where two boxes make an "L" - great cover)....then I hung out on the left side.....and we both blasted the baddies as they came off the fast ropes...piece o cake. Finished it on the second try.....the first one...I didnt realize there was even a computer and I headed upstairs.....and the game instantly stopped and said the chick got away.

i really don't care either way cuz to me if it's in the game then it's fair game (with the exception of using glitches in the online that is cheap and annoying)

i don't get the difference between the peeps who ***** about the chainsaw but have no issue with using the shotgun. to me its the same thing both allow for easy kills. well unless you get the shotgun with no bullets like i did last night. oh well thats virtual life right?

It's like this in too many online games. Games just become mad rushes for the best weapon, and the game becomes who has the best connection/best weapon rather then who has the best skill.

All shooting games need to look at FEAR as to how to properly balance weapons. The weapons in that game NEVER get useless - you can use the pistol the whole way through, and easily beat the game. In Halo, if I'm dual weilding an SMG and a plasma pistol, I'm basically screwed next to the energy sword user. In Gears, Shotgun + no lag = god.

It's a shame, really - most online shooters are so close to being correctly balanced, but always end up falling short. I'd prefer the counterstrike/rainbow six method of shooters rather then the rush for the best weapon type games any day of the week.

Cheating is a whole different story, but as long as that isn't present, evenly balanced weapons are vitally important.

I'm hoping the upcoming shadowrun is as balanced as they say it is, it looks like a fantastic online shooter.

I'm not one to complain about any tactics, but I just wish the lancer wasn't useless anymore. Without active reload, you might as well be holding a watergun (with chainsaw attachment:D ). I have no proof, but I'm pretty sure they powered the lancer down with one of the patches.

I have stopped logging into live at night mainly because no one was playing gears and I have yet to get R6:V. I guess I will sign on tonight and see if we can get some ranked going, I would like to clear an achievement or two as well.

Playing with random people is just too much. Seems like everyone is a wanna-be rapper. If I get lucky and actually kill someone, then the method I used is "weak." Or my personal favorite, the host with 30 kills (all with a shotgun) screaming how great he is.

I have noticed a pattern of hosts actually killing the game or booting me if by chance they aren't winning. We were in escalation, and pretty much getting owned. I slipped down the right side while they were on the left, grabbed a sniper and popped off 3 head shots. literally 10 seconds after I popped the hosts melon my connection to the host was mysteriously dropped.

Hey guys - I was just at Best Buy and took my memory card in and plugged it in the 360 display. I didn't know until recently that you can get 'bonus content' if you plug your memory card into a 360 kiosk, so I thought what the hell...

Anyway, I'm not at home so I can't see if anything downloaded onto the memory stick yet - also, there was no visual confirmation on the kiosk screen that said, "hey jackass, you've got some free content on your memory stick. Thanks for nothing." Is this normal?

I even perused through the blades and couldn't see anything to start a download, etcetera.


Has anyone done this before or had a problem? LMK!

Not me. I think it looks good but its a very bad game. I downloaded the demo and I couldn't even get through the first fight. I don't really like fighting games(besides og mortal kombats), specially "rappers" fighting games.

If Def Jam: Icon wasn't about 3-4 steps back from Fight for New York, I would consider it. Instead, they took everything that was good (gameplay wise, I could care less about the story) about the game and got rid of it. I might take a look at it if I can get it for $29.99. I might rent it, but the decision to get rid of the AKI engine is a costly one. They've lost many people who bought the game just because of that. That was the only reason I bought the game. I could care less about two rappers beating each other up. Bottom line, the game was fun. Unless the gameplay is vastly different from the demo, I can't see myself wasting $60. I bought both of the other Def Jam games on their release date, but I can't see myself doing any more than renting this one.

Well I just beat Crackdown. And I have to say this was been one of the most fun games I have played in a long time. And the best part is I still have achievements to unlock. Now to the ending without giving anything away, I kind of figured "that" was going to happen. But definitly a cool ending nonetheless. To me, Crackdown has lived up to the hype I tried to create in here. If you are on the fence about picking it up and think its just an extra game that comes with a Halo 3 beta/demo you're mistaken. This is a fun ass game the only times I have stopped playing it is to eat, sleep, work, and spend a little time with my gf(She actually shut the 360 off on me once!). I am not going to grade it out of 10 or anything like that.. But seriously I think everyone should give this game a chance. If not buy it, rent it, I am sure you will be hooked. :D

They surely lost me because of it. I wanted to continue to salvage playing the AKI engine, other than playing the old WCW vs nWo/WM2000/No Mercy games. Alas, those are better games, anyway! :D

I still play Def Jam Vendetta just because it is the most updated version of the engine. I could care less about the rappers, but the engine was so great. It's a shame. I've been anticipating Icon for over a year and I haven't seen anything to justify my $60. I really wanted to buy it. You should give Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 a chance. It's really easy to mod your N64. It just requires one small gamebit screwdriver that costs about $8. It took me about 10 minutes.

yeah i had a couple of those matches. i really pissed this one guy off because i was trying to finish my tagging achivement and i tagged the same dude 3 times and i really wasn't trying to. he got really mad when i downed him with the pistol and then tagged him. he then proceeded to quit the match so who ever you are thanks i got the achivement.

Unfortunately, the innovative enviornments of Icon can't completely hide the kiddy-pool depth of the fighting system. There are six fighting unique fighting styles unlockable over the course of the eight hour "Build a Label" story mode, ranging from the straightforward knuckle-dusting of Ghetto Blaster to the Capoeira-inspired dance kicks of Jah Breaka, but every fight still follows the predictable pattern of behaivor: punch, punch, grab, throw, scratch, repeat.

They gave the game a 4/5 and said that it's still fun, but I would rather have a better fighting system than some "bling bling" and other accessories to dress my fighter in.

Finally tried COD3 last night since I've had it for over 4 months now. Visually....it might be the best looking game I've seen on the 360. Gameplay.....it's impossible. If you think you are a badazz "first person shooter" player....I invite you to try COD 3.

Wayyyyy too much going on at once. Although...at first it was kinda cool. Everything is confusing...you're being shot from every which way. Constantly being knocked to the ground from explosions. Losing sight...yours ears ringing. Kinda gave you the feeling of what being in a huge battle would be like. But man....it never lets up. Like chugga said...it's basically COD2 on crack. While it gives you the nervousness and heart pounding of non-stop action all the time...I could have done without the "amped up to crackhead level" gameplay. If you are into challenging games......this is the one you've been looking for. Just pop it in....set it to difficult, or veteran if you're insane....and spend the next five months trying to get through the single player campaign.

Yeah...is that where you're going after the jeep. If so...I made it a few levels past that. I'm playing it on the default setting though...no way in hell did I bump it up to difficult or veteran. I'm having a hard enough time as it is on the default setting.
When you get to the part where you hop into the little raft and cross the river.....stop rowing for a second and just look around....it seriously is one of the best visuals I've ever seen in a video game...the graphics are simply stunning.

I think the developers just overthought themselves on this one. The last one had a perfect blend of craziness/calmness. This one is full throttle the entire time, with enemies coming out of nowhere to shoot you. And I'd take the chainsaw kill over the "melee struggle" kill anyday ;)

You download the movies off of the marketplace...just like you do with games and demos. However...the movies only stay for a certain period of time...basically like renting it.

Very true. Believe me, I want to get back to playing it, but once I get Crackdown & NBA Street's "newness" worn off (Where I don't feel obligated to play all the time), I want to get back to focusing on Oblivion again, as well as R6.

I don't know if GOW will ever really flourish ever again. It really turned into a shotgun fest the last couple of times I played it. And while I'm never really against using whatever weapon is best for you, when it comes to the awful latency issues there are with Gears of War it just makes the shotgun a very frustrating weapon.

I'm not saying I'll never play Gears again, of course I'm up for a game. But theres a pretty steady stream of games on their way....Def Jam, Motorstorm, then by time you get tired with those the Oblivion expansion comes out and thats 20-30 extra hours....then Guitar Hero is out right after that. At least thats for me personally...I bet other people are there are likely moving onto MLB, Ghost Recon, etc

Well looks like I've had another 360 go bad. No red lights this time but damn near everytime I try to use it lately it freezes up. At long last, I hit the 500 agility orbs mark. I couldn't believe where my final 2 were----on the tops of 2 buildings I had been to before. I never climbed to the tops of them, though, because I was too busy dodging the Shai-Gen rockets to do much but survive. What a difference having no enemies alive made (For orb hunting, as well as the now complete Rooftop Races :cool: ).

Concept: Having a witch that castspells along with a huge ass rifle looking machine gun is just plain awesome

Spells; Im sure they get better, but you start out with Ancient Wall, that creates some cover for you to shoot around. and Willpower, mostly like TK. You can shove objects into the enemies to cause damage. And a one-hit kill lightening strike, more on that below

Story: Set in 2013, it sets the back story, and seems like it has some decent ideas

Artistic design: Some very creepy Silent Hill-ish ideas for enemy design. In 2009 there is a homicidal virus released that kills 820,000,000 people world wide. Alot of military looking bodies, with skulls for faces, while wearing the human face and neck around their neck like a badge of honor. Also, a brain about the size of a buick, with a normal size human body dangling from the bottom of it, in the air, creating barriers.

Bad: (boy, where to start)
shooting: no targeting system. when you fire at enemies, they stagger backwards, so its hard to keep a bead on them.
map: as in, there is none. As in, you have no idea where you are going, nor how to get there. you just randomly find a back alley around the barrier, to shoot the flying mind out of the sky, to knock down the barrier.

Spells: as unique as the conept is, it is almost impossible to pull them off with regularity. you have to smack the bumper buttons to bring up the menu, while still staying in fight mode. supposedly, holding down the bumper brings up different levels of spells (willpower and ancient wall on one level, while the lightening strike is in another level). However, after dying multiple times trying to bring up the second level of spells, i came to realize you dont hold down the bumper, you just tap it again.

civilians; when civilians are knocked down, you can use the spell, sacrafice, to save them. However, there doesnt seem to be a reward for saving them, as well as no penalty for letting them die.

This game was HORRIBLE. Which sucks, because the Final Fantasy-ish video it opens with shows such great promise.

Finally beat Oblivion again, including the Knights of the Nine quest I clocked in at 119 hours. Man, finally I can move on to something else until Shivering Isles comes out.

For anyone wondering, the Knights of the Nine quest only took about 6 hours, and that was with exploring a few caves and closing 2 oblivion gates in the mix, as well. Not exactly the 10-12 hours they claim. A good storyline, nonetheless, and I was at level 49 when I gave it a go.

I seem to be off my game. I cant beat any of them lately. The street isnt that easy dealing with the first ladder and the stairs. If you have enough people it is probably be easier but lately it has just been myself and giles and maybe Konger once in a while.

As far as anything good coming out soon, this month is pretty weak. The Oblivion expansion is coming out, but that's about the only thing I'm interested in.

I don't think Shivering Isles comes out until April, but I could be wrong.

That looks really cool. I liked the Prince of Persia games a lot. Some of the moves in TMNT look CRAZY! Esp. the tag team scenes.

worms is great. its a tactical game. each sides gets 4 worms with 100 HPs. tons of different levels. you use different weapons of distruction to take down the other teams HPs. or knock them into water for an instant kill. Its been out for the SNES i think, gameboy advanace, Playstation, playstation2, gamecube.

I got mine over the weekend, too---Just keep looking. Look near the bosses (Since you had to keep moving to avoid rockets, especially in Shai-Gen territory), and revisit buildings you already hit up before (Especially ones you couldn't reach the tops of before because of your agility, and because you were dodging rockets in Shai-Gen territory). You'll get them eventually, man. Now, as for the secret orbs............. :(

well i am hooked on crackdown. for the secret orbs i would assume 100 per island right? as for the agility orbs wow i have a long way to go. although i broke the 150 mark today and finished off the mexicans not bad for 8 hrs work

im up to 207 blue orbs, and 490 green orbs. I have almost all my abilities maxed out except driving and firearms. both have 4 stars though

it goes to that screen that says it's trying to connect you to the match, then it just sits there forever, i wasted over an hour and a half trying to get into any match i could, no luck
