is anyone else having problems with the dashboard after the update?

I have noticed the dashboard runs a bit more sluggish at times. I hadn't figured out if it was the Spring Update, or if it was after I downloaded the beta.


I have been playing the Spider-Man 3 that I rented recently with my monthly free coupon from Lackluster Online. Is it me, or is this game not as good as Ultimate Spider-Man? The missions are extremely lame at times, and mostly easy. A few have been terribly thought out (the photo missions, for example), and the "blur effect" on the web swinging can be more a hindrance than a help. That being said, I've nearly finished it in 3 days of playing it. Good thing I didn't buy. :D

Yeah the One Bomb, CTF, and Territories are my favorite but also depends on the maps. As for VIP I have the same issues. Even games that I'm playing with my friends who live right down the street from me I can't for the life of me get them to just stay put inside the base and only kill what makes it through our defenses. They always get giddy and go run outside where they run right into the middle of a machine gun/grenade cluster**** and die.

So yeah I hate VIP, I also hate Oddball, it just bores me, it's like team slayer with a 1 person handicap.

I just wish there was more CTF....I love the CTF on that one stage they gave us to play. Theres so much strategy involved. Do you open the front gate for an easy escape or do you keep it shut so that they can't chase you down in the vehicles....do you rush straight into the base, do you take the pipe that runs along the right side and go behind their defenses, do you use a gravity lift to rambo right in and be a distraction for the guy who took the pipe route....

I need more of that but Halo doesn't seem to want to give it to me.

Saints Row is awful online. The first time you play it you'll be like "oh my god thats awesome" and then by time the second game is loading you're over it. The first game I ever played was a game mode called "Protect the Pimp" and I had a bunch of friends over and we are like "how do we know who the pimp is?" and immediately the game says "You're on defense....You are the Pimp" and I'm walking around with a giant purple hat on and a set of brass knuckles that say "PIMP" on them. I believe it was a 5 on 5 game, but the pimp can't pick up any weapons he can only do melee attacks with his brass knuckles....the attack is called the "pimp slap" and it's a 1 hit kill. Needless to say my entire team died leaving me up against 4 people with SMG's and grenades...I pimp slapped every last one of those *****es and won the game.

It was the most awesome thing ever....but it is really only cool once...after that you realize you're playing the stupidest mode in the history of online gaming. The co-op stuff is also stupid, it's not anywhere even remotely close to as seamless as Crackdown is, and crackdown isn't all that seamless itself.

When it comes to Saints Row....play through the awesome story mode, enjoy your time in Stillwater and get the hell out. Theres nothing fun left to be done afterwards whether it be running random missions or going online.

You could base stats on what is vetoed but I don't really see why it would matter in the end. When the final game comes out people are going to be playing whatever the hell they want anyways.

I finally tried that Area 51 demo last night and I really liked it. I'm not the biggest fan of FPS games but this one has some great atmosphere, nice graphics and I like that the weapons are modern day. I think I may buy this one.

Well, they see how many choose to play what game-set. Then they can see how long people play in those game types. How many are repeat players. Etc.

Now, with halo 3, there is the veto system. They can see how many times each map and each gametype gets vetoed.

The problem with that idea is that I'm a repeat player of team oddball like 15 times right now and I absolutely despise that mode. Where as I'm a repeat player of capture the flag like 4 times and it's my favorite mode ever. I think this beta was more a study to see if the new weapons/gadgets/vehicles were balanced on a grand scale. Game testers aren't going to be the bastards who try to put gravity lifts into walls so that people get stuck or crap like that...it's the halo fanboys that will do that, so why not open up a public beta inviting each and every one of those bastards to take a crack at your game and show you where you screwed up.

Bungie says that they monitor this stuff all the time. Every game is set up through bungie servers.

The games aren't random. Each play list is just that, a list of gametypes. The server takes each game, looks at what's next on the playlist, and sets the game up as that. With a veto, it just moves you on down the list.

And you do choose what you play. Team slayer, team skirmish, rumble pit, big team, etc. Each one of those options has a seperate play list.

And bungie can see things like who quits what game how many times. It's actually a bannable offense to just sit there and quit games (not for live, but for bungie games).

Furthermore, it's just common sense. It's a beta. All the data is available to them through their servers. Of course their going to use this data to change the play lists.

Go on bungie.com and look up "matchmaking update". They'll tell you why, and how they figure out how to change the playlists.

Anyways, he was bitching at the host to stop using the shotgun, boomshot, lancer, and demanded that he could only use the pistol. Needless to say the host kicked him cause he was disrupting the game. I wonder if people will play according to their class in squads, or if it will be the usual XBL "run & shoot" stuff? I've come to the conclusion that I suck at Halo 3 and FPS games in general :o Only 2 kills last night...:D I always seemed to get turned around facing the wrong direction and get splattered from behind. Ouch...

its been said before but if you've played the xmen legend series and liked it....you'll probably like this one. its even better if you are a comic book fan. half the roster had never been in a videogame til this....i think. and its just fun trying to unlock all their outfits...at least to me it is.

I actually had to try to stop killing things during the end of the game I was leveling too fast, the Hulk got too powerful. I basically had one playthrough where all I did was give Hulk all of the enhancements. 25 focus, 25 strike, 25 body, and 10 skill points. So he's a monster among men now, I went to go start a game on hard yesterday and he was just whooping entirely too much ass to make the Hard playthrough even remotely difficult.

No, 1 playthrough and he was level 34....and all of the attacks I used with him were maxed out so when I was like "let me give the hard mode a dry run before me and my friends play it" I noticed how overpowered I had made him. Me and oaktown gave the hard mode a try with just the 2 of us and we got stomped pretty badly. I took all the members out of my team and went at the hard mode with just the Hulk and I never had any real issues. The main problem is he has like 100 more health than any of the other heroes and his strike is 20+ points above anyone elses in the game. I had his strike at 72 I believe and 2nd place was in the high 40s.

Well, I had an awesome match of the Beta tonight. BTB Training, Multiflag on Valhalla.

Went 25 kills 7 deaths.

Was holding the middle ground by myself so the flag carrier could escape, killed two guys, then some time went by, killed another guy, then three guys came after me, threw a plasma grenade, two walked onto it and died, then I popped the other with a headshot.

Overkill (4 in a row within 4 seconds of eachother) and Extermination (Kill enemy team with at least an Overkill).

We won, 3-1 on flags. I'm on a natural high, calling myself the best player in the world. Pat myself on the back, and I think "Man I gotta save this on film to show my friends".

I go to the after battle report. Hit X. Nothing happens. It wouldn't let me save the game!

They sent me a refurbished unit. Is it hard to get Microsoft to refund your points so that you can rebuy everything on the new console. I can't always get on live and it sucks that my Arcade games turn up as demos because Microsoft couldn't come up with a better system than this. Having your Live Arcade games only work properly on one console is a terrible way to do business. It's not my fault that Microsoft can't make a reliable console.

I bought Condemned finally. I had only rented and never had the time to beat it. So I got it at Eb's big 25%-50% memorial sale today. For $19.99, also I preordered NCAA FB 08. Man I kind of wish I never got MUA sure it is a fun game, but it made me want to read comic books. So I have been downloading a bunch of comic books to read. I am working on Fantastic Four right now, I have say I am not a huge fan of the old school comics. You can tell they were made in the 60s with all the things in the story.

I understand that there is a way to change that in your settings, at least that is what I read on the bungie website. I think you are pretty much stuck with it in ranked matches, but friendly matches I believe you can turn it off.

I will try it when I get home I guess. Although I doubt it could be anything like Forza. Forza is like the only thing that can compete with the likes of Gran Turismo at the moment. I already ordered Forza from Amazon hopefully it will ship tomorrow and should have it before the end of the week.

i like driving/racing games but they can't seem to hold my attention very long with the exception of need for speed hot pursuit 2. it's werid because i like arcade racing type games because they are fun but i also like to have some realizm in it as well but i found GT to be real boring also because i couldn't ever go around a turn with out spining out. i was entertained by PGR3

Junkshot, oaktown, POR2GEE1984 (and others I may have missed) - great fun last night with the beta....too bad we went up against some lifeless, virgin tools. Otherwise, we'll have to meet up again this week and hope our luck changes:)
