Anyone else downloaded the Dirt Demo? I really like it... the graphics are amazing and i had a lot of fun with the demo... seems sorta like forza but with your car pimped out and on dirt

Yeah, I downloaded and played it. Looks great but I suck at driving games. Graphics are comparable to PS3's Motorstorm, but will probably be a deeper game.

There is one camera view that i lvoe and its the one from insdie the car...the one as if u were driving...i normally hate this view but they've made it doable and its fun as hell... nothing like flipping off that uphill course. Seems like its going to be a great game.

As Chugga would say, I guess live just couldnt handle my awesomeness tonight. Our last match that Tim and I did. It was 4v2 with myself and Tim being the only ones on our team. We only lost a team slayer match by 4 kills 50 to 46. I had 26 kills and time had 20. Then they were talking smack like mad. Which was pretty comically since it was 4 against 2 yet they still almost lost. We had them beat until they all started running around together so if you found one all 4 were right there.

You need Gold to play retail games online. Silver is free...and will allow you to download demos, videos, LIVE Arcade Games and whatnot.

For the $50/year, I think the Gold is a great deal. You only "think" that you have no ambition to play online. But, hop into a game...and shoot some of the poor bastards that post here square in the face and you'll instantly change your mind. Not only that...there's pretty much someone here that plays everything. Some stick to shooters. Some play sports. Others racing. And if you're not big on competing...there's always the Co-Op play. Nothing cooler then playing through a game with a buddy of yours who lives miles and miles away and just shooting the *****.

Jeez...you'd think I was a Microsoft salesperson.

Xbox Live is a hell of a community...it's got it's own language and everything.

"you gotta be ****ing kidding me" means - I can't believe it, in the midst of all this fun we are having there has been a tragedy because someone just killed me and I'm pretty sure I killed them first

"****ing lag" means - While I'm having a great time playing this videogame I can't help but to think my performance is being hindered by a slight delay

I've seen people play Madden and NHL (NHL more recently) but they aren't really high up on the Xbox Live food chain. I don't really like playing sports games on live....they all seem to end up reverting back into their lowest form. Whether it be people running a goal line offense half the game, dropping back 30 yards with their QB, running the hurryup the entire game, nba fans shooting 3 pointers the entire game and quitting when they get on a cold streak, etc.

There is plenty of lag to be had in Halo 3 just as there is in any other game. A few times my body was "dead' and then 2 seconds later the red laser blasted in my direction. I melee'd a few guys from behind (an instant kill) and i literally hit them...backed away and 2 seconds later the guy dropped dead. And a few of us were experiencing complete black sceens for like 5-15 seconds after each death. Albeit, this was on the Big Team playing 6v6...but the lag was horrible.

There is plenty of lag to be had in Halo 3 just as there is in any other game. A few times my body was "dead' and then 2 seconds later the red laser blasted in my direction. I melee'd a few guys from behind (an instant kill) and i literally hit them...backed away and 2 seconds later the guy dropped dead. And a few of us were experiencing complete black sceens for like 5-15 seconds after each death. Albeit, this was on the Big Team playing 6v6...but the lag was horrible.

Yeah there was some bad lag in that last game. There was a time in that game that I got so called assinated but the guy was standing in front of me, I saw him coming on the radar so I turn around he hits me and it says I was assinated, I was like what how did that happen.

There shouldn't be lag....if you put in your request "a good connection" then you should never have lag issues. But if you get complete jerks (and they do exsist) they'll screw with the connection in order to get the best stats possible. It's one of the main reasons I haven't played Halo3 in a while....last game I played was against all LT's and I was thinking "oh crap this should be a real challenge" but it wasn't....it was a massacre because one kept going idle allowing all his other friends to run around and kill us while they are teleporting all over the map. They were like Nightcrawler....I'd have them in my sights shoot then 2 seconds later they'd be all the way to the left of me on a set of stairs shooting. If you got massacred as bad as it sounds you did last night and had lag issues I wouldn't be suprised if you ran into one of those ridiculously cheesy groups of people who are going strictly for rank and could care less if they are screwing over the other side.

Remember when I backed us out of that one match that was taking forever to find players last night? That was using the 'Good Connection' option. I switched to NONE for criteria after that to find us quicker matching, um, matches. Tonight (and for the future) I'll keep us in good connection so we (hopefully) don't lag. That'll probably cut down the amount of other players it'll find for us, but at least we'll not have as many lag issues.

I'm fine playing late in my part of the world on most nights, that's no big deal. I've been staying up until 1 or 2am CST this week with you guys, but the only drawback to that is everyone else is getting started and I have to leave about an hour into it because of stupid jobs and stuff:rolleyes:

Semi-OT: You know you're lucky when you wife says, "aren't you playing Halo online with your pals tonight? Don't let me keep you, go have a good time." That's why my wife rocks. depends on your set up. if you have a lot of horses under the hood and you still carry the stock braking system, then yeah you'll probably have problems. but if i read you correctly, no, the controls are much smoother than I remember from GT

all in all, it takes a little patience to do some of the more advanced striping and designs, but once you get the hang of it it's really user-friendly

Just wanted to say thanks for the game the past few nights guys. I hadn't played GOW in a long while and hadn't updated to the maps since i wasn't playing online. of course, playing the halo 3 beta threw me too when i got back to playing gears. i had forgot about the other weapons on the d-pad. haha. now i gotta get used to some of the maps and remember where some of the other weapons are at. anyway, thanks again and putting up with me. i'm still an easy kill. ;)

lol..no it's all good. After the 3rd match I was getting a little more comfortable with the locusts chainsawing me...:D

I got bumped out when the map changed to one I didn't have downloaded so I decided to spend the time downloading the maps. I didn't realize it would take almost an hour and a half to download it. Not sure why it was slow. By the time it was finished I was watching a movie, talking to some friends, and then I started playing PGR.

I'll be ready for more the next time.

As for the Toyota theme, I'm pretty sure it's a Canada only thing.

There's a pile of content that's country specific... for example, we Canadians can't DL most of the shows or movies that American's can. And there are game demos that have been exclusive to Japan or Europe that US accounts don't have access to.

That is unless you sign up for accounts from other countries. :D

Sorry I haven't been on in a couple of days. The other night when yall were playing Gears I was immersed in the Beta. Last night my wife and I helped my parents throw a huge party for their friends 1st wedding anniversary. We got there at noon (shindig scheduled 4-9pm) and left after midnight. We set up, made sure everyone had what they needed, cleaned up, and sat with our feet in the pool afterward for about an hour. I'm flatfooted as hell, so you can imagine how my feet are holding up.

My wife and I felt like we were in a retirement community last night. I think the average age for an attendee was 68. My parents (mom: 65 dad: 78) and their friends are older, so I guess that would make sense.

i don't know the exact time, but that sounds about right. short time

then you just upload them to photobucket to keep them. you can keep as many photos on your HD as you want, but the forza site only shows your last 5 pics

As I said I dont have the patience for the decals all that but I did paint it, tint the windows, add racing rims, plus other upgrades.

I have to say the paint looks better in the game than on the picture. It is hard to tell but the windows have a semi purple tint to them. I wanted to do blue since the paint is kind of blue to purple shift depending on the light, but it just didnt look right.

If you liked Counterstrike, and think an FPS mixed with crazy magic sounds cool, this is the game for you.

Imagine teleporting, flying, turning into smoke, seeing people through walls, blowing a gust of wind to throw people's grenades back at them, making instant walls of crystal....

The list goes on of all the crazy **** you can do. Then, add in a katana. Great freaking game, even though it is multiplayer only.

Im picking up Call of Juarez today I think it should be pretty good.

As for Condemned I found that to be a fun creepy game. If you can find it for $20-$30 pick it up for sure. There are some good achievements for you to get also.

avs, that looks really good. now the fun part is that if you saved the design to the design catalog, yo ucan go back in and play around with different color combinations so you can switch it up if you want. it's a quick and easy swap.

I dont know if I really like it. I dont like the "cartoonyness" of it.

Yeah the cover looks kinda cheese but I suppose it's better then the alternative of the old mans club standing on the cover as they are today. You figure the game is based on all the stars at the peak of their careers so I guess drawing was the best way to go. I'll definately pick the game up, I'm psyched to try to make some awful frankenstein legendary Bills team.

I can build the vast majority of the Bills offense. OJ Simpson and Thurman Thomas in the backfield....Andre Reed and James Lofton at WR. Can sub Steve Tasker in at the slot. Metzelaars at tight end. And Joe Delamielleure protecting my QB

Defense is a whole other story they've seemed to just skip over any Bills on that side of the ball. I suppose I can pick up Chris Spielman and see if I can play Steve Tasker both ways.

I was really disappointed to see no Jim Kelly or Bruce Smith...that really would have rounded things off nicely. Hell I would have even settled for Frank Reich and Shane Conlan, or Cornellius Bennett.

I beat it, twice, in the time I had it rented. Although...I literally had some "stay up all night, go to work with no sleep" days during that rental.

Too bad my sole remaining local Lackluster never has the damn thing in. :mad: What I may have to do is my classic "buy-to-rent" at the local EB, where I charge a used game, play it for 6 days, and return it on the 7th day. No charge to me that way. :D

I ended up buying the special edition version. There was only one left at one EB Games in my city. I'm a sucker for special editions :o

There is the 2 downloadable cars and a nice book that details the cars and tracks etc.

Finally broke down and bought a 360 last night, along with my current obsession: Guitar Hero II. The last system I had was a N64, hahaha. I'm still on medium level of GH2 - I can't handle that damn orange fret button. Need more practice.

What are some must-have games? I've heard great things about Gears of War but with Halo 3 coming out in several months, should I just wait for that? I'm not into driving sims all that much, prefer driving games like Burnout. Huge hoops fan so I'll be getting NBA Live 08 when it comes out this fall (probably NBA 2K8 too since my brother prefers that series).

Oh, has anyone played Dead or Alive Extreme 2 ;) :D ?

I don't quite understand this game. Aren't there only like 200 players in the game? What are there like 4 or 5 teams to use? Personally without a Franchise or a Dynasty mode I get bored with football games quickly.

I think I'll stick to NCAA to hold me over till Madden.

i think it was said that they dynasty mode wouldn't be as in depth as the madden they wanted to move to just playing football. so it doesn't sound like there is going to be much of a dynasty mode if any.

as for what games to get gears of war is a must own. target has a sale going on mlb 2k7 for 49.99 TH project 8 for 38. call of duty 3 for 38 some others as well.oh and GTA 4 when that hits in OCT.

I think NBA Live 06 is awesome. I'm still playing it on my PC. I did hear though that Live 07 was basically unplayable, even from die-hard Live fans. I've tried 2K7 on xbox and it just seems a little slow and players don't move as fluid. I guess we'll see what everyone says when this fall's games come out.

Dead Rising and Condemned look kinda cool. I'll probably get Burnout and Gears of War off ebay.

Crackdown is a nice time, even without the Halo 3 Beta.
And Viva Pinata if embarassingly addictive. :o

And I believe Mass Effect comes out at the end of this month. :D

Anyone else play the Hour of Victory demo? It's pretty fun, it is pretty much COD but alittle more "cartoony" graphic compared to COD. But seems fun.

I thought the Hour of Victory demo was pretty cool. I've seen it get slammed elsewhere, but I was definitely intrigued. One of the features I was really interested in was the three POV's you could play from. I'm not sure how much you can get into them in the demo, but it definitely adds an aspect thats different from some of the other WW2 FPS.

Definitely looking forward to it.
