I can only imagine.

I could tell a difference for sure. When it was 2v2....and even 2v3 and 3v3....everything was fine. Gun worked great. Shoot someone point blank...and yep...they would explode (as evidenced by having like 38 kills in that first match).

Then once it got to 4v4 and we had a few Canadians (not knocking you guys at all), my gun turned to shlt. Those same distance shots that took someone out with a max of 2 shots....now was taking 5 to 6 shots and still not downing them (as evidenced by now having 0 kills). If I found myself fighting with Avs...I might as well lay the controller down. I could chase him around the map (2 of us actually) shooting round after round into his azz and nothing.

May ass is small and very hard to hit. I was just hitting the A button as much as possible rolling, jumping from wall to wall. You guys would hit me once in a while but you were wasnt really enough to kill me. It could possible be a host thing though. But you guys did get me in the end.

Yeah I was able to pick up the Halo3 edition one today. I just got a new truck yesterday and it had an MP3 audio jack in it so I thought hmm, is it finally time to step into modern times and get an MP3 player?

After going through 3 cars that got torn to shreds because of having an audio system installed I think it's safe to say no subwoofers this time around so instead I spent my make-believe money on a Zune. To be completely honest I would have gotten an Ipod if it weren't for the fact that I had $300+ in store credit at gamestop and all gamestop carries are Zunes....but after toying around with the Zune tonight it's actually pretty damn cool. Hearing you say it's actually better then an ipod makes me like my purchase even more

After the last update for Gears, Epic again messed with the Boomshot. I've seen the shot PASS through a player and hit the player behind them. Or two direct hits only down the person. Way to go Epic... lets screw up a great weapon. BTW, I love the Lancers new power!!

Yup... 1 shot takedowns with the lancer no matter where you hit them now. That takes some getting used to.

I think they've made all the weapons more powerful... it certainly makes the Halo type combat less desireable.

it was some local comic geeks. the store owner and his friend. they aren't that good really. I mean, in a gridlock battle, we did 2v2 , and all I did was run laps from one spawn to the other, and just did circles the whole time. He would stand right in front of me, and I would just run past him, and he still couldnt get me down. Finally with less than a minute left, he was in front of me again, and as I approached him, I stopped right in front and just pulled my shotgun trigger. He exploded with one shot. He was laughing his ass off in the lobby. I played like 4 rounds and went to bed.

Have to agree, I did some experimenting with my Elite and there is somewhat of a difference, but HDMI is better. The difference was subtle on my TV though. I could see a substantial difference in my cable box between HDMI and component though.
And I also concur that there was no transfer cable with the Elite.

It was a great game just not my cup of tea, I hated the competitive portion of the game and thats kinda where you eventually have to go if you want things to be fresh. Unfortunately though I sold the game a while back so I can't play anymore

Yeah there is some strange things going on since the latest update. You are lucky if you boomshot works at all. Torque Bows just bouncing off people, or sticking blowing up only to have nothing happen. Last night I had an awful night. I would shoot someone like 4 times with a shotgun to have nothing happen at all, then they would hit me once and I would be down. Then last night I think someguy nade tagged someone only for him to get blown up and it only downed the guy he tagged.

I still have my copy of RSV but I never really got into it. I played TH's and co-op story mode with some of you guys and local friends. But when it came to playing single player and online team/reg. deathmatches I just never got into it. I never got pasted level 2 in single story mode. And I found the deathmatches boring, and I just do not like the character models. The way they walk/run. I guess I just got hooked on Gears and compare everything to that or COD2.

But I have to say...the torque bow is what's most intriquing. Boink...you plug someone with it....you hear the boom and see the smoke...you go running by...and miraculously...he's just standing there like nothing ever happened and either chainsaws you or shotguns you. Then you have whoever the host is...running through boomshots like he's a member of Charlie's Angels (you...know...where they just come running through the fire). They added a little more *umph* to the lancer...and *****ed up a bunch of other weapons.

Seriously, I don't play games to get achievements. You will never catch me playing a game from 2 years ago just to get the simple achievements and the points that go with it. You will never catch me winning/losing on purpose on multiplayer just to get/or give an achievement. You will never catch me continuosly playing a game that I do not like just for the sake of getting an achievement. My score is only so high because I rent at Blockbuster rather then buy. I rent for a week....play it....if I like it enough and think I'll get replay out of it....I'll buy it. During that week of play...I'm obviously bound to unlock some achievements. But I don't keep the game specifically to go after achievements. Once the game's done...it's done. Don't care if I got all of the available achievements for it.

i was thinking 8 central time. and mike i know it might be hard to find for some peeps but if everyone just puts the max and min rounds at 19 and just look in the execution (or what ever game type we decide on) then it narrows things down quite a bit. cuz then you only have to look for the map.

I only take it serious when you egg me on. I don't like backing down from a videogame challenge unless it's not a fun one. It wasn't so much a "Gears is lame" phase as it was a "man I spent $60 on this game the first day it came out and I haven't even played it yet" phase.

Fair enough. I do remember you not particularly liking the R6: Vegas "style", although ironically, it was the run & shoot online play that you loathed the game for, and it's the same way everyone started (and continues) to play Gears. Such is life! ;)


No one can say they've played the worst game on the 360 until they've played King Kong. Horrible, horrible game. KillaB picked up some cheap games, and he suggested I give it a shot since it was such a short game. Well, easy gamerscore and all, it is terrible. Hell, I forgot to expound on the achievements point a bit more...

To me, the achievements can often (not always) be the closest thing we have to the old-school days of "completing" a game. Sure, you can run through a game once on easy mode, but that doesn't mean you've found all the stuff to do in a game. To me, if used properly, achievements can be a true measure that you've done all there is to do in a game. Naturally, some are terrible (Madden '06--Enter the history books in franchise), and some are way, way overkill (10,000 kills in ranked Gears matches), but some are do able, and reward you for just going through the game level by level, or finding enough items to unlock a character. As much as some of us may deny, I'll admit that some of the achievements in games got me to play some games I would never otherwise give a shot.

sadly no about the closest you can get is you can see how many headshots executions chainsaw curb stomps you have when you go to the leaderboards in the versus menu just look yourself up under the all-time list and add up the totals from warzone execution and assasination.

otherwise you have to keep track yourself or just kill until it unlocks

Avsfan, Junk, xxsocxx - I was worthless last night in the two on two, and I felt bad about bolting, but I had to go into work early this morning to start some things for the week. I loathe that map that we were on to begin with, and almost always being the first to get destroyed, I wasn't much help to my teammate. That's why I prefer 4 against 4 - I draw the other team's fire and repeatedly sacrifice myself for the good of the group, with the occasional kill(s).

I know it's hard to believe, but I absolutely clean up when we don't play together:o Well, in player matches I do, but not as much on ranked ones. And by clean up, I mean I get 120-190 points for the duration of the match:eek:

I have found that the other players in ranked matches are quite the lot of *****es.

Thankfully I wasn't called this (at least not directly), but what the hell is "buster?!"

The opposing team was saying that repeatedly to some of the other players on my team, and went as far to say they were going to sodomize/rape a particular player by ramming their dlck into his ass and make his mother watch them do it and weird shlt like that. Absolutely sick.

So I did what anyone would do (I guess) - I reported them to XBOX for using harsh/offensive/threatening language against another person. I also left negative rep for them, as well. I hope I'm not the only one reporting and their asses get banned.

I rented Rayman Ravin Rabbids, and Monster Madness recently, Rayman was cool, but i think its still way better on the wii, and Monster madness was a total waste of time, i should have known from the demo, but i thought i'd still give it a shot. Although i'm sure its fun for Kids, as my nephew enjoyed it.

Any word when the next backwards compatibility update is coming around?

I'm thinking of picking up Oddworld:Strangers Wrath for 15.00 and just hoping it gets added along eventually. I love the oddworld universe, hopefully they are working on something for the 360 right now. Wouldn't surprise me at all, actually.

go to your garage, select the car you want it on and a list of options should pull up... towards the botton there should be an option that says "Gift a Car"

select that and then your friends list will pop up to select the person you want to send it to. Send it to me, I'll try to work something up and I can gift it right back to you when it's done. Only problem is I don't think you're on my friends list yet so I'll send you a request

Does anyone else feel the MUA achievements are too few in number? I've only garnered 60 pts and I just beat MODOK. I know, I'm not that deep into the game yet, but maybe they're just too stingy with the points, not necessarily the number of achievements.


I was in the process of signing off when you guys sent me the invites. I had paused the game to take care of some stuff and came back to see invites, but decided to watch some ESPN and go to sleep. Hope you had fun without me;)

with MUA, the first few 'boss' characters, and some later sub-boss characters, are only worth about 15 points each......other boss characters like galactus, doom, mandarin, etc are worth 45 each......

i haven't played it for about a month but i'd just defeated loki, and my score is 325, and i've only defeated 3 main bosses (mandarin, mephisto, and loki)......

I actually like MUA's achievements. The vast majority of them you get while playing the game through just normally. You'll get points for beating the bosses, beating the game, killing enemies, throwing enemies, unlocking costumes, answering questions, finding disks/completing them etc. One playthrough of the game and you should have the vast majority of points offered for it. It takes a while, and there will be long times where you'll just be getting 15 points an objective but at the end all of a sudden you just start getting 30-45 point chunks with basically everything you do.

The only real crap part about MUA's achievements are the multiplayer ones....if you aren't blessed with having local friends good luck ever getting them (because MUA's online feature is god awful).
