Yeah the multiplayer achievements are what has made a rift between me and oaktown. He got a little bitter when he couldn't get them because he doesn't have any friends. I mean I offered to help but at that point he was just too angry to even listen to reason.

Just popped in to say hey and catch up on what games everyone is playing. I did sell my console and honestly haven't missed it that much, although everynow and then a friend's 360 ends up at my house for a few days at a time, I play online on rare occasions under his gamertag.

Aside from that the only game time I log now is when we get together to play GH2 at a buddy's place. The game is okay, songs could be better. 2 of us are now trying to get Hard up to 5 stars, but I think its a bit too much dedication to invest. We all probably could be semi-decent guitar players by now if we actually tried to learn it lol.

Anyway, my buddy is considering getting Forza 2, is it worth it? We both want to try something that is close a racing simulator as possible, i.e. is Forza to the 360 as Grand Turismo was to the PS2?

I ended up staying here in Ontario, family member had a quad by pass and I got to run the family business, which I'm still doing, but much less of.

And I might be sticking around Ontario for a little while longer... as a result of a woman of course, j/k. I'm just trying to figure out the next move career wise, not many options in Northern Ontario as opposed to moving away somewhere, and I don't want to be a banker again. I do like the North here and after going down to the GTA recently, I don't think living in the city is something that I want to do. I love being on uncrowded lakes that only take less than 10-30 minutes to drive to.

Thanks for the feedback. That was the impression we had after trying the demo recently, from the little bit that we got to play it seemed pretty decent, but not spot on like some versions of GT were. But again, we didn't get much time to play it. So I decided to come consult with the experts lol.

I got it. So far, the single player is freakin' amazing. Great story, great voice acting, great graphics. The facial expressions are kinda crappy, cuz only the lips move.

The multiplayer kinda sucks. Kinda neat going around as a Darkling, but the lag can be atrocious, and there's not much here to keep you playing.

Buy this game for single player only. There is some replay value, so it's worth a buy, or a month long rental.

I give it a B+. Any game with a good story, good graphics, and good voice acting is worth playing in my book.

But anyways as for where I've been it's just been busy lately. A week ago I traded in my old car and got a new truck so I've just been taking up alot of projects around the house that have needed to be done for years now....remodeling the entry banister, getting the pool running, redoing the garage, etc. I've spent more time at Home Depot/Lowes lately then at my house. Then to top it off when I'm finally home and I've got free time to just do whatever the hell I want I can't bring myself to pick up a controller. I just can't do it. I've traded in the vast majority of games I own, I went from having 50+ 360 games, 10+ Wii games, and 4 PS3 games down to having six 360 games, two wii games, and 1 ps3 game. Of the freaking 9 videogames I own I can't stand to play any of them....believe me I've tried.

As for the casino I'm probably cooling down on that for a while, I got cut off last weekend after trying to play the lounge piano so I'm kind of on a break from that.

You have to pay 800 Microsoft points to change your name, if you want to use the live that is already on the box.There is a menu on your gamertag that you click. If you create a new one you will have to pay for live .

I just googled Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. I was a huge fan of the first game... and now I might just become a disciple of the second game. They talked about the game map size "The world of Mercenaries 2 is larger than all of the maps of the previous Mercenaries combined and is jam-packed full of colorful characters and environments." If you remember the first game you know that those maps were very big, and it did take some time to drive and even fly for that fact from one side of the map to the other. Then you have to take in to account for the random ground fire you would take and had to avoid. Aswell as the SAM sites on the ridge lines that were a pain in the ass if you didn't keep an eye on your position at all times.

Some people are getting excited for Halo (could careless for Halo), I'm really looking forward to Mercenaries 2

I thought the demo was absolutely brutally bad, probably the worst FPS I've played since Perfect Dark Zero.

The Darkness looks hot, however, and Starbreeze has a great track record.

FEAR was alright if you could get passed the long assed intro to the game by the time i got to the point where i could shoot things i lost interest the online well the few matches i played was pretty fun although it felt alot like a halo rip off

Funny how much tastes differ - I could never justify buying an FPS with a weak single player mode, mediocre multiplayer is fine with me.

Hell, thats why I loved FEAR so much. Great single player on that one.

I definitely want a balance of the two, and most of the great games do juggle the right amount of each, but I'd take a strong single-player over multiplayer anyday.

I use to hate the Bullet Marsh as well, but since I have been picking up the Sniper rifle it isnt that bad. I also really like when all those guys would just stay back around there sniper rifle so you just sneak up behind them and chainsaw them.

Yes the Iron series with the Stingrays and the Shelby cobra series are god awful. I had to put it on easy so i could win the damn thing with the cars handling like crap.

See I just raced dirty against that Sting Ray. I had a fully modded Camaro and it was smoking me.(god do I hate the stupid superchargers) So I just push him off to the dirt and he falls to the end of the pack. I actually usually race clean for others but I hate old car races. Does the stock races have any muscle cars? cause lord knows I wont want to do a stock muscle car race.

I had no problem with the muscle car race. I just bought a sting ray and took it to him. I just hate how they handle, but nothing handles worse than the damn Cobra. I can nomrally beat the computer in the same cars. I swear though the Cobra could spin out on the straight away if you just turn the wheel a bit. The back end just kicks around like nothing.

See I just raced dirty against that Sting Ray. I had a fully modded Camaro and it was smoking me.(god do I hate the stupid superchargers) So I just push him off to the dirt and he falls to the end of the pack. I actually usually race clean for others but I hate old car races. Does the stock races have any muscle cars? cause lord knows I wont want to do a stock muscle car race.

The only one that I have seen is the Shelby Cobra series, which is worse than the Muscle car series.

But what I love about it. It has 1102 HP in the thing. So far I had it up to 226 MPH before I had to brake for a turn. I might try and run it at the speedway to see what speeds I can get there. I wish they had the test track type speedway like in GT. You could get up to like 260 before getting to the turns.

it's not bad on the speedway, but make sure to have it tuned

the best car i've seen on the game so far is the saleen... gets 250+ mph on the speedway and handles like a dream

ok the darkness has it's flaws such as when the characters are talking there mouths hardly move if at all. the game play is fair. took me a while to figure out how to change weapons (left or right on D pad)

the story moves along quite well i like the story monologues between load screens it's a nice touch. overall i see this as rental.

Hope you're not too hurt that I haven't been able to be yall's Frag Fodder for the past few nights...I rented 4 games this past Thursday and am trying to play the crap out of them before they are due back...I got Darkness and Transformers for PS3, and Forza 2 & Bigs for 360...just started playing Forza 2 last night. It's a pretty game, but if I drove in real life like I do in games, I'd have been dead long, long ago.

Going to give the Bigs a go tonight after I attempt to play some more Forza 2. Then I'll probably pop in Rainbow Six, GRAW, or Gears, depending how I feel.

There is a reason why it is only like 19.99 now and has been for months now. My friend told me yesterday when I saw him who has that pretty much no one plays it online. I just couldnt get into. On the 2nd level everything looked identical. I had no idea where I was. Pretty much every room was the same. It was just painful to try and play.

Prey was an awesome shooter. I don't know about multiplayer because I personally think multiplayer universally sucks, but as a single-player it was great...and most of the review sites would agree. It's not terribly long, but the gameplay is tight and it's a ton of fun.

It's a steal at the price it's at these days. So is Quake 4 by the way.

I am all about this game right now. I love it. Graphics are great....great story. I also like the diversity given in the missions. You can kill if you want. Or you can be stealthy. You can complete JBA objectives (bad guys) or NSA objectives (good guys) or both. I've actually gone the "almost impossible" route and tried to do every single mission without killing or even knocking anyone out and completing all objectives for both sides, so my trust level for both is at 100%....truely a double agent ;) .

I gotta agree with Jay...the single player was pretty entertaining. It can be difficult in the begining to figure out where you're supposed to go.....but that changes once you figure out that when you go in "spirit" mode...you can see "clues". It's not a straight through action shoot em up though...as there aren't a lot of enemies. It has puzzles etc. The graphics on it were great.

I tried the multiplayer right when the game came out...and back then you could find some people on...lag was really, really bad in that game. I'm sure now there's probably very few playing it.

i only got through the training missions and the training lady got upset cuz i killed the cop. i would like to go the same route as you but my stealth skills suck. so i have alot of work ahead of me. i actually got the game 1. becuase i heard it was way different than the other three (might pick up conviction for the same reason) and 2. becuase my buddy just wanted my loose 12" raiders rice.

RPG - Oblivion
Racing - Forza2, DiRT
Shooters - Rainbow Six:Vegas (realistic), Gears of War (arcade feel), COD2 (everyone who owns a 360 should play this at least once...especially for the price it can be had at now),
Action - Marvel Ultimate Alliance (being the comic fan you are...you'll probably love this one), Dead Rising, Crackdown (personally...I hated this stupid game...but others are fans of it)
Stealth - Splinter Cell: Double Agent, TenchuZ

You've spoken, and we’ve heard you. Good service and a good customer experience are areas of the business that we care deeply about. And frankly, we've not been doing a good enough job.

Some of you have expressed frustration with the customer experiences you have had with Xbox 360; frustration with having to return your console for service after receiving the general hardware error message on the console.

The majority of customers who own Xbox 360 consoles have had a terrific experience from their first day, and continue to, day in and day out. But when anyone questions the reliability of our product, or our commitment to our customers, it's something I take very seriously.

We have been following this issue closely, and with on-going testing have identified several factors that can cause a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. To address this issue, and as part of our ongoing work, we have already made certain improvements to the console.

We are also implementing some important policy changes intended to keep you in the game, worry-free.

As of today, all Xbox 360 consoles are covered by an enhanced warranty program to address specifically the general hardware failures indicated by the three flashing red lights on the console. This applies to new and previously-sold consoles. While we will still have a general one year console warranty (two years in some countries), we are announcing today a three-year warranty that covers any console that displays a three flashing red lights error message. If a customer has an issue indicated by the three flashing red lights, Microsoft will repair the console free of charge—including shipping—for three years from the console’s purchase date. We will also retroactively reimburse any of you who paid for repairs related to problems indicated by this error message in the past. In doing so, Microsoft stands behind its products and takes responsibility to ensure that every Xbox 360 console owner continues to have a fantastic gaming experience.

If we have let any of you down in the experience you have had with your Xbox 360, we sincerely apologize. We are taking responsibility and are making these changes to ensure that every Xbox 360 owner continues to have a great experience.

This will take a few days to roll out globally, and I appreciate your continued patience as we launch this program. I've posted an FAQ that should address some additional questions, and we'll update it over the next few days.

I have been playing a few ranked matches as well. I have found that not having the headset plugged in makes things a lot less annoying. I havent had too many bad matches like that. Although If I notice that people are waiting to stack one side or people are telling people which side to go on I just leave because odds are the match is going to be so uneven that it wouldnt be fun anyway.

It looks great, but it could have come from a rendered cut scene. No way to tell if that is actual gameplay or not.

Bungie has never done rendered cutscenes. They've always been in-engine.

Bungie has even stated that they never pre-render anything. The only thing that was pre-rendered was the starry night commercial, and that was done by another company.

Trust me, Bungie is the one company you can trust to not **** you around when it comes to preview images. I've been following all of their weekly updates for the past year or so, and everything they've shown has been using the new engine.

No, the cutscenes are not better. They're the same as in game, just in game you can't get the cool perspectives that show off everything.

Lol, funny how when I mentioned the single player will look fine since it was evident from the beta that it had a hell of an engine behind it, and now we see an in-game shot from the campaign, its too good to be true.

I can see that. But I want to still check it out I will watch any movie or play any game that has something to do with Vampires or Zombies... So I'll probably rent Vampire Rain if we ever get it here. If not, I'll just buy it when it hits $30ish.

well if the in-game multi-player looks like this then the campaign is going to be AMAZING.

The fact that they started the polishing phase about 2 months ago, and they have until September, puts my mind at ease about Halo 3. With Halo 2, they were doing all nighters until the last minute, and they didn't finish what they wanted to. Now, they've been able to take their time, and do everything they wanted to with the game.

Give it time, man.......it took mine a bit after the constant locking on every game, and failure to read discs, but it got itself to the red rings.

It's sad to see Microsoft finally admit that the problem isn't as small as they (and some people online) would like to think. I supported the original Xbox from Day 1, and the 360 from last August, but no amount of support prevented me from wanting to start to spread the word of "stay away" thanks to the issues I had with my original 360, as well as the lack of help I got in fixing the issue. Perhaps now, with MS openly talking about it, we'll see this come to an end. What I really want to see is the new heatsink made full production, and distributed in every Xbox 360. Heat is the enemy of the 360 made up to this point.
