I'm happy that MS extended the warrenty to 3 years, but you have to know that they didn't do this just to keep customers happy. They did it to avoid a class action lawsuit that was going to be filed against them. It was a smart PR move to spin it and make it look like they "deeply care" but when you boil it down, they are saving money in the long run.

Does anyone have WWE Raw vs. Smackdown 2007? I really want to get just 1 wrasslin game that has my favorite wrasslers like The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, Lita, etc. Too bad there's no Chris Jericho in it but you can probably just create him, right?

What do ya'll think of the game? The last wrasslin game I owned was No Mercy on N64 and I loved it.

It really all depends on what types of games you prefer.

RPG - Oblivion
Racing - Forza2, DiRT
Shooters - Rainbow Six:Vegas (realistic), Gears of War (arcade feel), COD2 (everyone who owns a 360 should play this at least once...especially for the price it can be had at now),
Action - Marvel Ultimate Alliance (being the comic fan you are...you'll probably love this one), Dead Rising, Crackdown (personally...I hated this stupid game...but others are fans of it)
Stealth - Splinter Cell: Double Agent, TenchuZ

Also, I'd try to exchange that second controller for the offical MS ones. They are that good. Not to mention, you need the black wireless ones to all match!

My nephew is coming over tonight to play vids...he'll be 9 in September, but will be moving to St. Louis before then because my brother got a HUGE promotion for the company that he works for...

I always promised my neph that we'd hang out and play vids until he got physically sick, and it's time that I made good on it.

Since I'm his uncle, I can secretly corrupt him with things he shouldn't see until he's older...like Halo 2 or possibly even Gears. That, and with him moving soon I can't get in too much trouble with my sister-in-law:D

Now I need to figure out how I can do this on the DL with my wife home...she'll have my 4 year old neph to keep her occupied, so maybe it won't be too difficult:D

I think any brand is ok, i've always gotten the one's that are blue, they've always worked fine for me. :D

Yeah, but it still counts as them admitting that there was a huge problem. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts. This is the same company that expects you to buy a new version of their operating system for each computer you own.

My Xbox 360 sounds like a freight train. The launch systems run loud. I think they've fixed it since then. It's really obvious when I compare it to the Wii and PS3. You barely hear those systems.

First of all, the only game I even touch on the 360 is Gears of War. So as far as I'm concerned, that's one game compared to the two I play all the time on PS3 (Tekken and Virtua Fighter). I'm a fighting game fan so the 360 isn't cutting it right now (Dead or Alive 4 is terrible). Without our group games of Gears, I wouldn't even play that anymore. So basically, I have one game on the 360 with a one year head start. It's a good game, but it's still only one game. PS3 might not have much, but neither does the 360.

Anyway, you're a grown man. Do you really have nothing to do besides insult an inanimate object all the time? Did the PS3 steal your lunch money? I think we figured out that you didn't like the PS3 the first thousand times you posted about it. I'm perfectly happy with all the systems. With the current game drought for ALL systems, it's nice to be able to switch back and forth.

You also forgot Resistance for PS3. So once again, from my perspective, it's two games (PS3) to one game (360). I appreciate that those other games that you mentioned may be good, but I didn't like them so they do me no good. Even if we went with a hypothetical situation where everybody liked those games, it's still only 4-5 must plays in an almost two year period. Not exactly a stellar amount of titles for the amount of time the 360 has been around.

What you have to realize is that the PS3 isn't terrible for everybody. You don't like what it offers, but others do. I like all my systems, but they all have significant shortcomings at this point.

my problem isnt the system, its the games that are available for it right now. I know soon, it will have good games out for it. SYSTEM sellers, games that attract people to the platform, not just niche games. I just think they launched probably a year to early due to the sucess of the 360. (minus the burned out systems).

I have no doubt I will be getting a PS3 sometime. But Im not going to pay full retail to paly subpar games, when I can wait a year, have the $100 price drop (that is already rumored) and then get games that I want to play for it.

I hear you on the lack of games lately. I've been playing NBA2k7 and NCAA2k7 since there hasn't been anything released that's worth it.
But that drought is definitely coming to an end and it's going to pick up real soon in the next couple of months. I can't wait!

I've never played the PS3, but from what i've seen it looks cool, the only game that i''m interested in is Killzone 2. When that comes out, i'll get a PS3, until now, Xbox is my system of choice for now, lots of games for me to play, and as for the comment about the Drought of game's, that really isnt true, maybe for the summer yes, but for the months coming till the end of the year, well we got Plenty to choose from, for all systems. 360 is still my system of choice.

Well I got my 25ft Ethernet cable yesterday............and it was about 10ft too short for me to run it along the walls and hide the cord:o. So for the time being I'll just hook it up with the cable running straight across my living-room at night when the kids are in bed till I get a longer cable. :rolleyes:

But anyway I got signed up last night, got my one month free of gold membership. My big mistake was downloading all the free game demos at marketplace LIVE :o :D. With all this space on the 120GB HD I was going download crazy, it just took forever to download all of it. There is even some decent stuff to buy in the media center. This is my first ever bite of the LIVE world and so far I'm liking it (just sucks I have to buy credits now :rolleyes:).

I'm still not sure about getting into a LIVE match on Gears Of War cause boy do I SUCK at that game so far. :o I keep getting smoked left and right. I've been so out of the video game realm for so long that all this button mashing is making my fingers look like pretzels. I need to polish my skills a bit more before I start to let some snot nose 13 year old scream in my ear piece "Take that B itch!! How do you like that?! Huh Huh, I just ****** your world up old man!!! hahahhaa". And all I can do is just sit there and take it and my only reply will be "Yup, your right, I suck :(". I don't need that kind of confidence booster just yet. ;) :D

You'll get used to the controls on Gears Manny. I avoided that game for quite a bit after it was released but now it's turned into one of my favorites. At least as far a single player or Co-op goes. I hate the multiplayer online stuff. Mainly cause I suck at it but that's beside th point. :D

Crackdown is also a lot of fun to play co-op in case you haven't tried that one yet.

I'm not sure. I did read that both EA football titles would be running at 30fps on the PS3 compared to 60fps on the 360. I fall into the PS3 is a great Blu-Ray player category. The only game I've even played on it was Resistance. Which was great by the way. I didn't notice any issues at all while playing it.

I heard that for the football titles as well. It's not that it's a bad system, it's just that it isn't offering what the 360 can offer. It's a powerful system and has all the bells and whistles it just doesn't have anything to showcase that hardware. I was looking to getting one for Devil May Cry, Metal Gear and Killzone, but with DMC jumping ship and MAYBE the possibility of others doing the same, it might be a good idea to stick with the 360.

But yeah, when I do upgrade to HD movie watching I'll get a PS3.

Microsoft is reemploying their Bringing it Home campaign for this year's Min-E3. The campaign has previously been seen during last year's E3 and their X06 event in Barcelona, Spain.

Typing of the Dead is a great game. I hope you know how to type or you'll be on the 1st or 2nd level for a while. I type about 60 wpm so it wasn't that hard.

If you have a battery pack, you need the microsoft battery pack charger or the charger cord. If you're simply using batteries, then any AA charger should work.

The only space type battle game I've ever liked was "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2" though.

Multiplayer with a bunch of guys you know is WAY more fun that playing multi with a bunch you don't.

Plus the 6 maps that didn't come withe game (okay 5, Raven Down sucks) are pretty damn fun to play. And if you're into the whole achievement thing, there's new one with the last update that effect multiplayer. :)

Let's hope both EA & 2K Sports step up their next-gen hockey offerings this year. NHL 07 had a terrible framerate, and was more of the same arcade play, and 2K7 was nothing special over 2K6. Plus, the Spring Dashboard update neutered the arena music option that the 2K games have been great for year after year, which is terrible. :mad: :mad:

Only played the multiplayer for an hour when it came out, didn't care for it so I forgot about it.

I really would not call GOW multiplayer the best multiplayer, boring as hell when compared to games like multiplayer Call of Duty 3 or multiplayer Rainbow 6 Vegas. Those games offer lots of depth in their multiplayer gaming, not just a small group of people running around and shooting at each other just for the sake of killing each other.

i remember playing Rainbow 6 for the xbox when it came out, i had a couple friends and we just joked around all the time on it, until halo 2 came out, then we did the same thing on that :D You can make it fun if you try. Maybe the actual gameplay gets boring, but when you got a couple friends it could be good times all the time :D

The NCAA FB 08 demo is up (Michigan @ USC, 2 min qtrs). It is, in a word, awesome. 60 fps and branching animations make all the difference, it's silky smooth and the control is tight. The game has a ps2 feel with next gen graphics. :D

Can't wait until next Tuesday.

I am not sure which price levels offer it, but I've had the $17.99 one for the past year, and the free game rental almost makes it worth it alone. Paying almost $9 to rent a game (Sure, you get to keep it 12 days) is ludicrous. I much prefer to "buy-to-rent" at the local EB, instead. ;)

I love it also. I like how if you run into a lineman you bounce back some. Very nice feature. Graphics are very nice. And you get to be USC! in the demo. :D I had fun beating on Michigan a couple times this morning.

Finally....real news from Microsoft about stopping the overheating. Instead of a 3-year warranty, I wanted to see news about the new chip set....here we go!

Dean Takahashi has the scoop on the updated Xbox 360 system that will finally make use of the microchips built using the a 65-nanometer manufacturing process:

Falcon is the name for the latest internal electronics in the Xbox 360. It will have an IBM microprocessor and an AMD/ATI graphics chip that are manufactured in a 65-nanometer production process. These are cost-reduced chips that do the same thing as their 90-nanometer predecessors, but they’re smaller.

With smaller chips, Microsoft gets a bunch of benefits. They won’t generate as much heat. So the risks of overheating — one of the main reasons behind Microsoft’s billion-dollar write-off for repairs and extended warranties — are much lower. The chips may also cost half of what it took to make them before because they use less material and fewer manufacturing steps to produce.

And jesus did I have a scare. Came back to my apartment after not using the 360 for a week, and it won't sync with my controllers, or recognize my HD-DVD drive. Try unplugging everything, disconnecting harddrive. Nothing.

Take it in my bedroom, hook it up to my 20 inch piece of junk TV, and it recongnizes everything and syncs with the controllers and HD-DVD drive. Guess it was just some bizarre glitch.

One year and two months strong with no red lights, hoorah.

I'm not a big fan of the "online co-op" part of rock band. It's cool if they have it, props to them for trying but any game based so strongly on the exact timing of hitting a button is going to suffer horribly online. I mean I could see a few ways of getting around the lag but it wouldn't make the game very "co-op".

I'm definately looking forward to the game but I'll just be doing the old fashioned co-op....before the crazy internet and online gaming was invented.

I was just looking up some of the achievements for NCAAFB 08 and I thought this one was pretty creative. Sorry if it was in last yrs. I didnt play much of last yrs game on 360. But I thought I would share it:

1-Star into 6-Star

Turn a 1-star prestige school into a 6-star prestige school in single team Dynasty Mode.

I wonder who some of the one star schools are? San Jose St, Idaho, Montana are some I think may fit the title. Sounds like it could be a challenging, fun achievement to go after(if youre not playing on Freshman).

I am definitly hyped for Left 4 Dead. I would have liked to have seen the segment you are talking about though. I have only seen a small video and some screenshots for it. But the little I have seen is pretty sweet.
