seriously though, red rings of death and no recovering. just got off the phone with xbox service repairs and i have to send it in for repair. anyone have any experience with this process? how long did it take to receive your new xbox? this really sucks as i'm told 3-4 weeks turn around. just joined and paid for a madden league i'm in with my son that starts next week :( at least this gives me a reason to tell the wife i need to upgrade to the elite :)

same here... it was shipped to McAllen, TX and I live in Indianapolis. Got it back about 7 business days after I sent it. Of course, this all depends on what the issue with your box is too. May take longer if it's a more complex problem.

If you have a Game Crazy near you, they'll do it for a buck or 2 i believe. if not, i bought one of those buffers myself (the handheld one) and it worked great, but if you only have one game, i'd go for the latter.

Awesome. Game Crazy does in fact clean your disc for a couple of bucks. Definitely worth a try. Might even trade in Lost Planet and pick up RB6V

Were you at least able to see the network on the 360.

One other thing, if you security is set to WPA2 on your router, the 360 won't see it. You can only use WPA and WEP.

Doesn't it feel good to have a game where you think carefully about every move you make, though, man? It's uncommon these days to have a game where every upgrade you make, every plasmid you decide to carry in a slot (Ok, so no other game has plasmids, but you can just use "power", instead) you think carefully about, because you might not run into another station you can change out at for some time. I love it. I reloaded my save at my first weapon upgrade station like 5 times before finally deciding I was comfortable with upgrading my shotgun. It is my preferred weapon of destruction ---along with the plasmid which allows me to turn the Rosie's against the splicers & turrets. :cool:

It's just getting old now. WWII is no longer an interesting game concept. The game industry has squeezed every last drop of blood from that stone. Plus, the Medal of Honor series was always one of the weakest series of WWII games.

I agree with you Smbdyfnkillme, but there are guys who love those WWII games and will buy/play them no matter what. And that's what I meant by my post. Like Flux said, I am so happy COD went modern on us. I was hoping they'd make a Korea/Nam themed game, but I dont know if that would be "PC". But then again I am surprised they made an Arab based game...

For me I think Bioshock has tons of replay value. Whether it's the multiple endings or the different combinations of plasmids to use to dispense enemies. The game just seems so wide open to numerous of options. Plus those Big Daddies are so damn cool!

That's what i've been doing, but it still doesn't help i suck at sniping :Dthere is a glitch to get the ammo car to stay open when you move out of it...you have to open both doors before the cutscene begins that way if you need more ammo you can get it just don't run in there when RAAM is on that side or the kryll will kill you.

but the way to do it is tourqe to get the kryll away from him and then head shot with the sniper and if you can hit him again with an active before the kryll surround him again. it is a pain in the ass so you might be doing this more than once which i am sure your aware of. if you need to toss nades (that is acutally how i killed him i got stuck on the wall and tossed two nades out of desperation and it actually killed him)

or the troyka might do the job as well not sure though i've never tried it

I never wanted to do it again b/c of those two killer spots.

i looked it up, it's hard to say really, most the auctions i saw had like 5-6 games with it, they are all around $100, so it looks like i could get about $60-80 for it. I want to do it, but i'm not sure. I might call Gamestop/Gamecrazy and see what they give for systems. Probably not a lot though because i think they sell them for what? $99?

gamestop is selling the original xbox for around 80 the trade in is probably around half of that. maybe less i think you can check trade in values on gamestops website.

It was the "Buy 1 Live accessory, get $20 off another" they had a few weeks back. I underestimated my local Circuit City, so I had to go to Best Buy. You basically got 2 Live 1,600 cards for the price of 1, if you chose to go that route.

Me too. Their site was totalled yesterday. As great as it is developers are offering a chance to take part in Betas, Bungie created a monster. Of course, it's a free chance, so to be pissed off (Like some on GameFAQs) at Infinity Ward is a stretch. These same people will be there on 11/5 to get COD4. ;)

Well I traded in some stuff today. I have Halo 3 paid in full and about 25 down on Mass Effect. By the way it is 20 dollars for a Xbox trade in, although I am not sure on the Halo Edition, since I have the regular one. So I might go the ebay route if I were you.

Yep. All i did was install an update of Windows Media Player 9, then set it to share files, it should show the 360 icon, click that and you are ready to go, but i think it only works when the computer is on at the same time. The only downside is that the 360 won't read a lot of files, it mainly only reads WMA files unfortunately. I think there's something you can download in the marketplace that will allow you to play non-WMA files too.

Halo is a more fast paced game than R6V is. Of course, R6V is nothing like the R6's before it, so maybe I'm wrong. I think that the Halo series has the best matchmaking on any console shooter (Possibly to change once CoD4 hits, but we'll see), and when you add in the Forge customizing option, I think it will be even better.

Don't buy it just to feel like you can play with the boardies again, though. You bucked the system by not sticking out Gears, so don't plunk down $60 (or more) this time, if you don't want to, man.

You're right when it comes to comparing the games. I enjoy both games but love the well done team based strategy that R6:V brings. I enjoyed Vegas more than GoW and I'm not sure what to expect from Halo 3.

no, that's cool. I'm not expecting it to play just like RSV. I was referring to the fun factor and I'm sure that didn't come across very clear in my original post. I just finished my first real foray into CoD and loved every second of it. Yeah it's absolutely nothing like Vegas. It seems to be a lot more run and gun than Vegas, which seems to be what people are saying Halo is like. So I'll get Halo and I may even end up liking it more than I anticipate. Regardless, it actually is worth i to me in many cases to buy a game just for the multiplayer aspect to play with my friends. I'll spend $60 to play a game that I can learn to like while playing with my buds and have a great time any time.

You will have some who will strategize in Halo 3, but I think the whole dual-wielding/weapon-balance issues in Halo 2 ruined the game a bit. From what the Beta brought to us, it seems like weapon balance has been restored. Of course, with the custom matchmaking options (Not to mention Forge), a party could always take out/add in whatever they don't want in the match.

I tried to get people to play R6: Vegas too, man, but it didn't work. I think I played with Cory, Chugga, and Keith a total of 2 times overall, but that was it. I didn't see a reason why the 2 couldn't be balanced out. :confused:

This might be a stupid question, but in Rainbow 6 Vegas, how do you change your camo in multiplayer

when you have a certain piece highlighted (Head, Face, Chest, Legs etc) there should be a symbol for the blue X button out to the right that says "Customize"

hit the blue X button and your camo selections will pop up. Pick one and click the green A button

it's actually my first foray into Call Of Duty ever... well, not ever. I did attempt to play CoD 3 because a bunch of friends were playing it so I rented it.

Anyhoo... I'm actually loving the beta. there seems to be a lot more going on than in say R6V, but that's not a bad thing. I have to get used to not having a scope unless I have a sniper rifle, but it's not too bad.

I'm loving the SAW LMG, but the sniper w/ ghillie suit is sweet too. I just ranked up last night to where I can create my own classes and customize it. I picked an AK-47, painted w/ woodland camo with the grenade launcher attachment and stopping power and deep impact perks and I love it!!

Come on now you shouldnt need help killing anyone if you have the firefly I think it is. The guided rocket launcher. Just fire about 5-10 of those and pretty much any boss is dead. Ask Billy. I barely fight anyone on my way to the Boss. I just make a b-line straight for him.

COD 4 will probably be my next 360 purchase....possibly Blacksite: Area 51 as well.

I have no idea what to do....so many good games are coming out on the 360 and PS3...I have no idea which ones to spend my money on...as there's no way I can afford getting them all...it's just too much $$$.

I picked up Warhawk for the PS3...and I think that'll hold me over till some of these 360 games start popping out.

Is it an in-game demo, or just a shootout, like last year's demo? I have to admit, after having switched to NHL2K when it first hit the Dreamcast, this is the first season where I am going to rent both at the same time, instead of the 2K game first, then the EA one. I feel 2K/Kush has gotten lazy the past few seasons. Even though I thought the skill sticks for EA were new and interesting last season, though, they didn't make a 100% solid game. I hope that changes this year, and both developers put out top-notch products.
