By the way chugga. I just found that if you go to custom games in the menu that it does let you pick which game you want to play. So you can just pick capture the flag. Now I am not sure if you can get other people to join or just have your party play. But you can pick just capture the flag.

I had no reservation either and my plan to just walk up and buy a copy worked flawlessly. :D

WalMart was doing the midnight thing and I knew WalMart would order tons of copies. I also expected more people to go after the limited edition copies rather then just the regular edition. So I waited till 12:00 and left my house with a neighbor buddy of mine. We got to WalMart and there was a small line of about 6 or 7 people by the time I got there at 12:15. Right before I paid the cashier she asked if anyone with a ticket was still needing a copy, no one spoke up so that meant all the dumb-asses who waited in line since the afternoon were all gone :p ;). I then paid for my copy and went home. :D

Once my buddy and I start playing I can see at least 5 other Spawn boardies were playing their copies also.

Chugga you nailed it on the head. I was in yuppie ville Colorado so I primarily saw 7-8.

I love the game. Played through the first level before my brother in Cali got on, the we did some multi-player for a few hours! I love how it shows the US and lights it up depending on how many people are on in that area. It was really cool to see the regions go from black to fully lit! I also like the sheilds and power ups they through in.

I agree. I'm disappointed by Halo so far. Graphics are much weaker than Gears or Bioshock. Gameplay is fun, but it's not a 9.5. The game's really linear so far, too. Probably an 8.4.

1. The "Elitist" nerd - he's better then you because he knows what the most powerful card in Magic the Gathering is AND he's pretty decent at halo

2. The "I'm cool - just ask my car" nerd - these guys generally show up by driving about 70mph through the parking lot, then leave by peeling out. They are pretty tame in line, can't pick them out of a crowd if you were paid to, but you'll surely know who they are when they get in their car.

3. The "halo is my life - just look at my lawn chair" nerd - he's been waiting in line for 18 hours....you showed up 10 minutes ago....you'll both get home and play the game approximately 5 minutes apart from each other.

4. The "I'm clearly too cool to be here - but I might as well stay" nerd - this guy knows that videogames aren't cool, he knows he's a complete nerd for showing up to a store at midnight just pick up his copy but while he's in line he'll do everything in his power to show you why he's cool then you. Whether it be a ridiculously loud conversation about his last sexual exploit with a wait for it...a girl.....or how he can't believe he's standing outside and missing the end of the monday night football game....since he knows Vince Young, he played semi pro ball with him and went to the same college.

5. The "yo dawg, this ain't the suburbs - despite it actually being the suburbs" nerd - this kid will make you laugh for hours on end. He's a good 5 foot 4 inches tall...the ripe age of 16-17, he's got pants that him and his brother could likely fit into but don't let that look fool you...he's a stone cold killer....at least thats what he thinks

6. The "I'm a cool 10 year old" nerd - this kid is so psyched that he's actually out at midnight on a school night that theres nothing that he's not willing to try. He'll try to dip his small frame into a crease in the line thinking "no one will ever yell at me, I'm a big boy, I'm out at midnight" but as soon as someone calls him on cutting in line he's about 10 seconds away from crying in terror.

7. The "I'm weird in high school so I'm going to try to live up to my reputation at gamestop" nerd - this is one of the most annoying types of nerds....they are loud, obnoxious, generally running all over the parking lot doing ******ed things, and heaven forbid theres a shopping cart around because that will be their toy for the next hour. The coolest of this group of complete misfits generally brings his girlfriend....his girlfriend looks like a cave troll, but no one let him in on the secret

8. The "I'm the coolest kid in high school" nerd - this guy comes with 15 other friends....ONE of them buys halo. But hey you're young, it's a school night and your mom gave you permission to stay out till the ripe hour of 12:30, he's bringing everyone he knows along.

Overall every single one of these people showed up to Halo and then some. Standing in line and listening and having to watch all of the above people is one of the most dreadful experiences you can live through.

Multiplayer is a lot of fun b/c of the varying maps and weapons. I think I"ll be playing it for a while, but we'll see when COD 4 comes out.

as for halo 3 i was on 4 player co-op on legendary with some local buddies was pretty fun only made it to level 4

I got both editions this morning, Legendary and Limited. I must say the Legendary is amazing, the slip sleeve that comes on the outer box of the Legendary is awesome, i like how you can use it as a Poster of sorts. Pretty cool.

Now the helmet, wow, this this is awesome, i love how it comes with a cloth cover over it, very awesome. It's also a lot bigger then i expected, i'm glad it is too. Glad i bit the bullet and bought this one.

Now for the limited, it's really not much different then Legendary, aside from the Tin case, which isn't nearly as impressive as the one that came with Halo 2, this one just feel's alot cheaper. I'm glad it's my brothers and not mine, it's just not that exciting. If you can afford it, just spend a few more bucks and get the Legendary if you can, it's totally worth it, even just for the helmet alone.

The graphics are weak, there's no question about it. They hype doesn't even come close to matching the game.

My honest opinion.

Gameplay: 9 (for some reason the force of the guns feels tamed compared to the other 2)
Campaign: 8
Graphics: 7 (for THE 360 title with this much hype, they should be ashamed)

Is it worth the money? Yeah, it's very fun, but it's definitely disappointing.

I am sorry but it is hard to compare the graphics of Bioshock and Halo since Bioshock doesnt have anything but singleplayer they can devote a heck of a lot more disc space for graphics than halo which has all the different gameplay types.

haha, i was playing some multi earlier, and my nephew was on it with me (he's only 6) and when we got in a room he started talking smack, this one dude got pissed, I remember when the game first started my nephew said something, and i heard someone say "oh no a kid" He made the online play more enjoyable, it was hilarious.

SO far i haven't had time to play the Campaign, i will soon though. I gotta move tomorrow so i won't get much in in the next couple days. :(

My limited edition arrived today, case was banged up a little, and the game disc was loose and had a couple of minor scratches (plays ok so far though), it won't stay shut either. Starting to wish I'd just stuck with the regular edition now.

ok, it seems there is not only a problem with the limited, but ALL or god damn lots of all the other disks. microsoft seems to think they were made or burned to fast, so many copies, that the disks are a bit not reliable. you can expect lots of disk unreadables, I'd expect them to try some sort of patch, or theres going to be massive returns for new non glitched copies.

and it's not just the regular version, It's happened to people with legendary and limited too.

Rumble Pit, Team Skirmish, Team Slayer, Big Team Battle, multi team, 2v2... you can also play zombies and a few other modes... also you can download player created modes. I downloaded a few Bungie created modes lastnight

Give online a shot... its pretty damn fun once you get a few friends together on a team and do some match making.

I don't understand how you guys can all praise Bioshock and then hate on Halo 3. Bioshock was great, but it was only a singleplayer game. Halo 3 comes out and has a great singleplayer(much better than 2) and amazing multiplayer that's probably the best available on a console. If anything is overrated, it's Bioshock, worth a rent, but I wouldn't buy it.

i thought the Zombie mode was pretty cool, but we needed more people in our group, doing that mode with only 4 people isn't that much fun. But i can see it being more fun with lots of people. I'm really diggin the maps too.

lol, I wanted to get NBA Live just because Gilbert is on the cover..But I played the demo to Live and 2K and I though 2K looked better..And I want to buy the better game, not by who is on the cover..But I could always get it later like next year when its like $20.:)

Was my voice chat working, and was it the cause of the echo? I literally had to scramble to find the new headset for my new 360, so I didn't get a chance to customize my character, set my voice settings, etc.

wow trying to finish level 7 with my local buddies and it kept starting over the level due to "someone in your party left" even though no one went anywhere. we switched host and my service goes out completely cuz my cable co. sucks tried 4 times to finish the level man this sucks

My initial impressions of Halo so far are that I enjoy the co-op campaign, but the multi-player I'm not really liking all that much.

I'll probably trade it in in a few weeks to pay off COD4 which based on the beta I like much more

I'm really enjoying the campaign as well - it seems like its going to be short, but much more fun then 2 - it reminds me far more of H1 single player then H2.

Also, I don't care what anyone says, this is easily one of the prettiest titles on the 360. I would say its just a notch below Bioshock so far, and a step below Gears, but the water effects are actually even better then what was seen in Bioshock, which is...awesome?

I had the red lights the 1 time my 360 broke down..You need the serial number on your xbox, and im pretty sure thats it..Other than your other info, like you email and ect, from what I remember..And usually the first person to answer will take care of the whole thing for you, I believe thats how it was for me anyway.

All the skulls are really pretty easy to get.

That last one is so complicated that I don't know how anyone figured it out (Bungie had to have leaked it) but it's not difficult to get, it just takes a while to earn it.

I've never played those games but I heard that it is inspired by a mask he wears somehwere in NG. It's like a shoutout to those guys from Bungie as a thanks for putting a Spartan character in DoA.

That happened to me the first time.

Actually, the first time I did something wrong and the rings didn't light up, I must have missed a ring or something.

The second time it worked and I got the skull, I selected "save and quit" but it didn't unlock the skull or the helmet.

The third time I finished the level with the skull in my hand, waited for the next level ("Cortana") to start and then selected "save and quit". It worked then.

Yeah, I that did it for me the second time (I was actually successful the third time).

On all 12 previous skulls I was able to just grab it, "save and quit" and be done with it. It didn't work with that one. Luckily the save-point should still be on that bridge so you can do it again if you have to.

The best way to do it is to activate the bridge, let the cinematic play, then go back, fight the Flood, do everything short of finishing the level by jumping into the hole. At that point you have no distractions and you can take your time jumping through the rings.

When I activated the skull and picked it up I simply carried it to the shaft at the end of the level and finished the mission with it in my "hand". That time it unlocked and I got the helmet.

Anyone want a regular white wireless controller, with play and charge kit and the recharagable battery?

I'll get rid of it for $25 shipped in the US. The only thing is, it may not charge through the charge kit, but it works if you charge the battery in another controller. I can't confirm this, though, as both packs are now fully charged that I own.

I am, Nick, but not when it first comes out. I was going to have it on Day 1 originally, but I haven't gotten the time in I want on the versus/multi of Halo 3. I've spent too much time in Campaign, beating it originally (first day-and-a-half), getting skulls, and helping others get skulls. Speaking of, thanks again, Mike, for the help getting those final 3 yesterday. It's a shame we spent so much time on The Ark's skull, and then of all the damn things, the Brute Chopper helped us at the end..... :D

The sad part, though, is I won't be using the Gundam helmet. I think it looks corny. Plus, it seems there are a ton of people using it online. I prefer the E.O.D. helmet, as it looks like a shock trooper helmet.

I wish one of my other buddies had been co-op with us yesterday, as he's going to want me to go through and help him get the remaining 7 skulls he needs. By the time I'm done helping him, I won't want to touch the campaign again for ages.

Microsoft should be sending you a box to send it back in. Once you get that just pack it up. They have a sticker for you to just put on the box that is already paid postage. So just drop it off at a UPS store or get a UPS driver to pick it up and you are set.

I go to my TV and turn on the 360 and bam......three red lights:( . I seriously hate Microsoft. They may have more games than the other two systems, but at least those work consistently. This is the second time that I have had the three red lights. Ridiculous!!!!!!

The worst part is that I actually received an Xbox 360 with the extra heatsink in it the first time and I still get this error. So that means that even the "fixed" units are breaking down.

I agree on TF2. The gameplay videos I've seen look just sick. I've never played Half-Life so I've got no idea about it, but it looks good. And Portals looks interesting. Definitely a must-buy for me.

Man do I need to do a Halo3 co-op game to get past this damn level on Legendary mode. It's still early in the game after the Hanger battle. I'm stuck in a room full of brutes and I just cannot do it alone, I need some backup. If any of you guys wants to do a co-op on the hardest level just hit me up. I might have friends over tonight but hit me up anyway to see if I got time for a game.

The second to last level in H3 is pure ass. Might be the best looking level in any game right now, but it's so tight and confusing that single player on Heroic gave me fits. I'll have to finish it up tomorrow, it took too long and now I'm going out for the night.

Either way, the Campaign is literally light years ahead of H2. Thank God.

I just hate having to back track though the whole level. You can get so lost. Since I dont really fight anything on the way back and just jump over the flood and run it can get hairy if you go the wrong way and end up in a dead end.

Yup, it was around the barracks area that I was stuck on. I finally got past where I was stuck the last two days but now I'm in a whole new world of hurt. Damn this game is a pain in Heroic mode.
