Sure the graphics don't look like Gears graphics....but I dont care. The mood the game has set really works. It "feels" as if you're in a government controlled future.

So far....I've had a blast getting through the puzzles on Portal.......I've played countless matches of TF2 for multiplayer.......and I am just now working my way through the 3 Half Life games.

Although I will get flamed I'm sure.......I'm having a lot more fun with the Orange Box then I did running around....jumping....throwing grenade....jumping....hit melee button....jumping in Halo 3.

exactly the reason i dont play. jumping is way to prominent in the game. Its like shooting damn kangaroos or something. and you can totally tell, playing COD2, when someone comes over from halo, becuase they try to jump, and make it, maybe 6 inches.

The main reason he wants the core is because we have an extra HD sitting around from one of the times my 360 was swapped out for a new one. He also already has a wireless and a wired controller of his own. He really wants the Halo edition doesn't want to spend the extra cash.

Thanks for the info Manny. I'm leaning more and more towards the HD-DVD drive. A few more choices as far as the movies go, but what's the deal with Swordfish and Full Metal Jacket always being part of the deals. They can't give those away it seems like.

You must get 1000 achievement points to get the Katana.
Which is actually no where near as difficult as it would seem. I had trouble with maybe four or five of them, at the most...and I would actually only call three of them "troublesome."

I find the sword to be a pointless addition to the Hayabusa armor which doesnt even look like a good armor to begin with. The head and chest piece look like Gundam Wing parts.

Well, they're definitely FFA achievements, but most of those aren't too hard to unlock. However, there are three of them that are pretty damn difficult to get.

And when it comes to the armors, it's just whatever floats your boat. I happen to like the addition of the sword and personally the Hayabusa armor is my favorite, because most of the ones we have don't do anything for me anyway.

I have hursty on my list too. It's just tough trying to play w/ everyone. I tend to stay away from the social matches, and I'm usually already in a group of four when it comes to slayer/objective crap. I've been licking balls as of late on H3 though.

Oh, and a big "yay" to sports this weekend. SC and the Broncos both won! Plus Kimi pulls out an amazing championship run (i know Avsfan is happy) and Gordon held on for a top 3 at Martinsville.

I just had to ask you the other night, since I thought maybe Budaj's horrible play lately caused you to jump on the Sharks ship, or as my wife would call it, "rooting for the right team". The solid blocks of color that list your mana reserves (yellow, blue, red, green) left color boxes on my TV for like 5 hours....and I only played the game for like 2 1/2 hours. They eventually went away....but I was scared shltless that they were permanent

my player is so pimped out right now

I ride either, my giant rat....or my wolf (which gives me an extra attack). I've gotten about 10 different runes and crafted all kinds of crap from it. I've captured like 5 different enemies and stolen all of their attack powers.

I have 3 powers that basically kick major azz.

# 1 - steals red mana from enemy and my turn doesn't end....this is perfect for..
# 2 - which uses up my red mana instead of life points every time I take damage ( it lasts until red mana hits 0)

so I cast the fire wall.....and then whenever I'm about to hit 0...I just steal my enemy's red mana....so I hardly ever take any real damage

# 3 - Flaming Skull - turns every green gem into a skull and turns every blue gem into red

when there are a lot of green/blue gems on the board...I cast this and boom......massive damage to the enemy

basically, its bejeweled. your grid things are

red
blue
yellow
green
experience stars
gold
skulls
skullsx5

like any other bejeweled game, you get 3 in a row, and it clears them from the board. but unlike the others, you take turns against an enemy. clearing skulls does damage to the enemys lifebar. skullx5 obviously does 5 dmg. clearing colored orbs, give you the required orbs to cast your spells

but, when you level up from clearing expereinces, you can get weapons and spells. the weapon and spells allow you special abilities in combat.

there is a free demo to download. its pretty vast for being an XLA game. Im happy with my purchase

and you answer to a queen, and she sends you on errands. you have a castle that you can pimp out, and make magical items.

right now, im carrying a whip
it does one dmg to the enemy, anytime i collect yellow mana.

Bejewled with an RPG element

You group colored gems....then you get Mana for that color. You have different spells that require different colors of mana. You can gain gold and experience. You can level up and choose which skills you want to increase. You can equip 4 items - armor, weapon, item, headpiece.....and they all have different attributes.

Basically...when you battle.....it sorta like the Street Fighter puzzle game. You want to chain combos and do the most damage to your enemy. Although this game has the ability to actually select different spells when it's your turn. You can do all kinds of stuff....from changing the board pieces...to attacking...to defending...to effects (like blind on your enemy).

Then...besides battling...you can build up your castle. You can overthrow other castles. You can capture enemies and steal their spells. you can capture beasts and train them to be mounts (each type of beast has it's different abilities). You can craft your own weapons by getting runes...by defeating runekeepers. Everything is incorporated into a puzzle game though.

For example....battle is like turn based "marathon bejeweled"

When you want to create an item....you have to destroy a certain amount of each type of gem.....kinda like "timed bejewled"

When you want to steal a power...you have to clear the board of a certain pattern....kinda like "puzzle bejeweled"

Everything I cast is based mostly on red mana...so I've maxed that out...I think I can carry up to 45 points in red right now. That combined with my Fire Wall defense....and I rarely take any damage at all......even when attacking castles...which have 215 hit points :eek:

I haven't advanced much in the story...I've been busy capturing enemies and stealing their good powers

Ah image retention... pretty rare for an LCD.

You might want to crank the brightness on the set down to avoid the problem in the future.

you can play it in small chunks if you like....but I warn you...it can be addicting...and before you know it you've been playing for hours

There are soo many games coming out w/i the next month. I think I just added The Simpsons to my list after playing that demo. Some of the lines are HI-larious. The game isn't perfect by any means, but it's entertaining enough for a huge Simpsons fan

I just recieved my replacement xbox. everything went find until I put halo 3 in. when I tried to resume where I left off it would show a flash of me where I was frozen, then would blink back to the the main menu and said player left campaign or somthing like that. I am not sure if its the xbox cause I just tried gears and it worked fine, remembered all my data and stuff.

The new Core's are supposed to come with a 256 memory card in time for Xmas and a Live Arcade disk with 5 games.


Thanks again for the info PB. My son was actually patient enough to wait for the new Arcade version to come out. It's a nice upgrade from the Core with wireless controller, 256 mc, and HDMI. Actually I'm not sure. Core's might have had HDMI but either way he's happy as hell. Thanks.

well at first, i turned it on with GH2 in it, and the game froze

second time, I openned the tray to turn it on, and it froze on the load up screen, with a buzz

3rd time, the screen wouldnt even come up

so i unplugged everything and am waiting for a bit to try again

he warranties his work. he modded my old system, and when I got banned from live, i traded it to someone for an unmodded one. well the sysm got the red lights, and he took it and fixed it for free. then he just fixed my brothers as well.so, as long as he warranties his work, im not too worried about it

1 of my friends had his 360 break, it had the red lights, so he waited a while, but it took a long time so he just bought a new 360, and returned it when his came back in..lol

Some of them, mainly the race cars near the end. There are just so many of the same car that it is just redundant to buy them all. I mean there are like 5 Audi R8s at 350,000 a piece and so on. Although I didnt know about the glitch until I was almost finished with my career anyway. Now to just get that 1,000,000 online credits.
