ok, I have a stupid ?, but where/how do you unlock Sabotage by the Beastie Boys on GH3? I've completed career mode on easy and medium, and nothing. Do you have to complete on hard or expert? Just curious.

That was soo mean!! But soo funny too. :) I'm still getting used to this game. My accuracy sucks. Seriously. I'm about 70/30 on seeing the enemy first, but probably 30/70 on getting the actual kill. I'm trying to improve on it too. I'd like to attribute those shotty numbers to the RPD and it's fire rate, but I don't know what the stats say, so I better keep my mouth shut;)

You should have done the Rock Band deal. I wasn't ever going to trade in Gears of War, thought it was a classic enough game to just hold onto but then I saw if you traded in anything towards Rock Band you get an extra 40% on your trade in (30% from the promotion then 10% from the gamestop card). I literally went down to gamestop a couple days ago with every single possession I had....dvd's, controllers, videogames, etc. I ended up breaking $500....everything through this fall is paid in full. And all at the cost of losing a bunch of games/movies I haven't played/watched in months if not years.

Best part about the deal is the 40% doesn't all of a sudden stop after you've already paid off the $170 rock band bundle....you get all the credit and THEN pay everything off.

But yeah I guess I'm part of the club too....figured there was no point in having Gears anymore...once you've beaten a game more then 5 times and have played the multiplayer to death....played it so often that people thought that you possibly programmed something into your xbox to help you out, then yeah it's run it's course.

Both are great games. More casual people will pick up GH3 just b/c it's a fun party style game. COD4's campaign is extremely short, but if you play online, the replay value is there (I've yet to start the campaign). I like playing online.
Like many people have said already, the next month is going to be loaded w/ great games. Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, and even Rock Band. Good luck deciding.

I'd go to Best Buy and try out GH3 or Rock Band, and maybe rent COD4 to make your decision.

I'd say Guitar Hero 3. If you buy Guitar Hero 3 + Guitar Hero 2, you have endless replay value. Online is also fun with the various attacks to mess up your opponent. Don't forget the downloadable content. It may be expensive, but you don't have to buy anything you don't want.

Call of Duty 4 is fun, but it doesn't do much that's different from other FPSs. If you take away the perks system, it's no different than any other FPS. If I hadn't played Gears of War into the ground, I'd still be playing it over this. I had more fun with Gears.

Don't get me wrong, I love COD4. It's a good game, but I won't be playing it for more than another month or two at the most. I still go back and play the songs from the first and second Guitar Hero.

call of duty's campaign is short but you'll have a blast playing it after you finish the campaing there is an extra level that i think is cool as hell and you unlock arcade mode which is like the free for all mode in halo 3 points for kills etc the only thing i was disapointed with was the lack of a online co-op

Alright... what he'll need to do is plug in the standard AV cable that came with the Arcade version (just don't plug anything into the tv or stereo). He'll also need to purchase a toslink or optical cable. He'll be able to get 5.1 with that. The toslink/optical port is right on part that plugs into the 360.

That's how I did it before. The problem now is that the the HDMI port is right below where the AV connector plugs in. They are so close together that you can't plug in both. Just one or the other for some reason. :confused:

There's no possible way your system can be out of warranty. They extended the warranties to 3 years for every console, and the 360 hasn't even been out for 2 years yet.

Usually, no, not really. Bigger games get things, pre-ordering is really only good if you are buying limited editions.

For example, the Bioshock Limited Edition was very tough to come by if you didn't pre-order, and with the Assassin's Creed LE, it may be similar as there isn't much demand for the limited edition but if the game becomes a huge hit, it may not be very common.

I'd pre-order rock band from some place like amazon, it may be difficult to come by if it takes off like EA expects it to, they've said they don't think they can fulfill demand and game discussion sites have said the pre-order amount for it has been astronomical.

See, I was the opposite. I read almost nothing, still haven't, but early reviews from places I trust have scored it highly - GameInformer, 9.5/10, and then other sites I don't trust GamesRadar - 10/10 and Gamepro 5/5.

All the reviews hit tomorrow but for the first time I really want to have no idea what I'm playing. I know I'll be an Assassin named Altair, I can climb buildings, I can kill people, and it's an open world. That's all I want to know.

The whole point of the weapon is that I can spray bullets in the general direction of a person and they'll die. I may never finish that challenge.:(

Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Fire Pro Wrestling Returns.:eek: I might space those purchases out since there's no way I can play them all at once. I have 88 headshots with the SAW so I'm doing okay, but that's with an average of about 1 headshot per game. What weapon are you using? Snipers shouldn't have a problem with that challenge. I can't even imagine a shotgun user trying to get this challenge.

I broke one of my friends xbox, he had it on the floor of his hotel room and the cords stretched out, when i went into the room i tripped on the cord, which ripped out of the back of the xbox. the little black plastic piece in the back pulled out a little bit, just enough to pull some pins out of it :(

I think it may be, it locks to the console or some ****.

Yeah, I am. You getting it, too? I played the demo at Best Buy last night, but the guitar was all screwy, unless that's how it's supposed to be.

I selected Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive, and the guitar would cut off the note...instead of dunn-dunn dunn dunn dunn dunn it was du-du du du du du...

I switched over to the drums and it worked fine. Maybe the demo had been abused by snotnosed kids or something.


I'm leaning toward the PS3 version, though. It's the surefire way to get a PS3 back in my house, since I got my wife HOOKED on GH3. I sold my 60GB to my buddy's wife (on the D-L) for Christmas. She wanted to make sure he could play all of his PS1/2 games, and she knew that the 40 and 80GB models weren't as capable as the 60GB version. Since I don't have and PS1/2 games, it didn't matter to me either way. Besides, I really want Uncharted: Drake's Fortune when it comes out later this month.

i'm getting rock band just not sure about getting the bundle even though it's now priced at 170 instead of 200 which isn't a bad deal either way

the ps3 bundle version i believe comes with the wireless controller and the 360 one doesn't not sure why

but i've read reviews that the GH guitar was preferred at least by the review people at OXM said it felt like the les paul was built a little better than the rock band controller. i'm most interested in the drums myself

The main thing i wanted about Rock band was the guitar, i like how it had the buttons at the bottom of the neck, but since it's wired i might just get the game's and wait till the guitar come's out seperately (which i believe is slated for early next year) Luckily the GH guitar works with Rockband, too bad it doesn't work the other way around.

Forgot to mention it earlier...last night I put the GH3 disc in my system and it wouldn't load (I guess that's the proper term).

I put the disc in and closed the tray...I can hear it spinning like it's going to do it's normal course of business, and then it would "power down," meaning the disc would stop spinning. It did this 3 consecutive times. To make sure my Elite wasn't broken, I put in Madden 08 to see if the same thing would happen. It started up normally with no problems. I put GH3 back in after that and it worked fine.

Anyone else had this happen with GH3 or other games recently?

I think you can rent GH2, i'd recommend it because it has some fun songs on it.

I wasn't very good at Guitar Hero the first time i played it, as a matter of fact i hated the game and vowed never to play it again, but since every house we went to for 6 months had guitar hero, i gave in and started to play it, eventually i got better, i can only do medium at this point, and that dreaded orange button (starts on hard) i still can't get my finger over to use it, so unless i practice a lot, i doubt i'll be going to the Hard setting anytime soon. But you'll get better as you keep playing it, eventually the Easy one's will be Too easy :D

This game is way addictive but way depressing too. Like many of you have said, after sometime you should be able to 5 star the Medium songs. It took some time, but I finally did it. Now I just have to pass the songs on hard. That second to last set is a major pain in the ass.

The biggest key to beating this game on medium, hard and eventually expert is to nail down the "hammer ons" and "pull offs." Once you can get those, you should be set

it's a great game, def worth every dollar. i've already put 4-5 hours into it and that's just because it's fun exploring and climbing stuff :D The controls take some getting used to, but after a few hours you'll have no problem with them. The camera isn't even annoying! that's always a plus :D

I wish I could remember. I think you need to get the greens first......in the Elf forest...I think. When I get home...I'll look up my achievements...and see which minion I unlocked first. Either it's the greens first.....or the reds are past the giant evil butcher guy. I think. Crap...I can't remember. You do know that you need to carry back the hill to your castle (or port) in order to unlock them.

half life = a fun, decent looking game. decent story.

portal = a mind blowing awesome foray into physics. It's crazy stuff and if it was a little longer would be worth the game in itself

The guy at the store told me the deal ended yesterday, but he gave me a price sheet that had an expiration date of 11/22. You should probably call before you go. It would be just like Fry's to have a 3 hour sale to not lose much money (they wouldn't sell it before 6 pm at the store I went to).

My xbox has been freezing alot lately. I was wondering if anybody new of away to fix the problem? It's in an enclosed entertainment stand besides the doors being open. if your ok with a game having absolutly no multiplayer yes it's worth it it's one of my picks for Game of the Year. not sure how long it is i haven't finished it yet. the darkness is a alright game not a terrible game but nothing to write home about either. that game has a mutliplayer but they shouldn't have bothered from the couple matches i played it was not fun.

I am an achievement ho and I only played through twice once I did everything on normal and then went back and played it on hard to get the other ending and the hard achievement. Took me about a week or so to go through twice.

Am I the only one who thinks the Simpsons game is incredibly annoying to play? I mean I love the show but this game with the terrible camera and the collecting of thousands of junk just to get the achievements. Good thing I rented it.

Well, we just became the latest victims of the "3 lights". We bought the system on sept. 29th 2006. We bought the replacement plan from gamestop but it was only for a yea.r:mad: It was out by a month and a half. It's gonna be 3-4 weeks to get our unit back.

We are pretty impatient and just recently bought GHIII and Assassin's Creed and really wanted to play them now. We went ahead and bought an Elite but it took a huge chunk out of our Christmas monies. The only store that had an Elite in our area was a Circuit City so got it there, but they only had a 2 yr. product replacement plan.

we had the same problem. My system went out the first time I put COD4 in. so, we got a new one, and when the other returns from MS, my son is gonna have it.

loving assassin's creed also. I just got done slicing up the good doctor. Not really far in but It is alot of fun to sneak up on a guard and hidden blade to the neck :)
