No I wish Gears of War wasn't broken and I'd play that all day and all night again. But no one has that game anymore (including myself). For as much as I loved Mass Effect the game seemingly went by way too fast. I just traded it in yesterday so now I'm looking for something new to fill up my 12-3 timespan and theres really nothing out there which is odd because usually this time of year the shelves are packed to ceiling with new good games. I suppose there are plenty of new great games out but all of them are so short that I've beaten most if not all of them.

I agree there is just nothing coming out. It is like they all came out between October an November then nothing. Plus it doesnt help that every game can seem to be beaten in like 6 hours now. Gamers need to quit buying games that only last a few hours so they will stop making them. I dont care how good the graphics are the trend needs to stop.

Yeah I've literally bought just about every major release of this holiday season that I wanted to get and they've all been beaten pretty quick and easy. Started off with Halo, Folklore, Ratchet & Clank, Stranglehold, Assassins Creed, WWE RvsS, Call of Duty, Uncharted, Rock Band, Mass Effect.

Aside from still needing to unlock a few songs in Rock Band I've beaten absolutely everything. Folklore and Mass Effect were the only 2 games that actually made me play more then 10 hours. Everything else sat inbetween the 5-8 hour range. For me thats 2-3 days of late night gaming for a full game.

But heres the best part.....I put up the most points of every team in the playoffs. Don't ask me how but 77 was enough to beat out the 3 other teams who made it to the playoffs. I picked up Aaron Stecker who was a free agent and started him and he got me 23 points, Marques Colston had quite the game also, Marshawn Lynch did his normal thing and the combo of Jason Witten and Gostowski put me over the top. We had 4 teams make the playoffs, I won my game 77 to 74 and the other game was 67 to 64. The other guy that missed the playoffs because of a crappy tiebreaker put up 59 points so to make a long story short I would have beaten anyone they threw at me.

This week I'm a dead man, but a dead man who's at the very least $400 richer so I'm happy win or lose.

I don't even own an Xbox360 title...I traded in basically every game I own on the last promotion for Rock Band. It was something like +30 or +40 percent if you trade stuff in towards Rock Band. I had to sell back like 15-20 games and over 100 movies. Not to mention everyone is playing COD4 anyways and thats not really my cup of tea online, it's more of a LAN-er for me. You'll probably see me back online regularly February 13th. Bonus points to anyone who knows why.

Last week I read everywhere how Rudi Johnson is a must start against a struggling and beat up 49ers defense, he's good for 90 yards and a TD - EASY. Well he scored 1 point. So while I think on paper my team is absolute garbage you never know. Exactly what I hate about fantasy football may come back to benefit me this week. I have no business winning but with a few down days out of his players and a monster game or 2 out of my players and I've won against all odds.

It's probably your disc. If it has any scratches on it at all... then that is definitely my guess.

I've done everything possible in that game and have had no problems. So, it plays fine, on my part at least. :o

Hell yeah! What a great party game too. We had a blast on Friday night at our Christmas party at our house. The wife's younger sister rocks on guitar, her older sister was afraid to sing but finally came around (after half a bottle of wine) and did awesome while her heavy-metal lovin' boyfriend kept failing on drums :D
Her dad turned 'Wanted Dead or Alive" into a country song the way he sung.
It was a blast and we're bringing everything with us for tomorrow nights party at her mom's house, should be even more fun with that group!

I out-coached myself. My team had a victory wrapped up in basically every way possible and I myself cost them the win. Started Brady, Lynch, Watson, Colston, A. Gonzalez, and Branch offensively and left Aaron Stecker, Dominic Rhodes, Laurence Maroney, and Lee Evans on the bench. All 4 of those guys went for 10+ points. If I play ANY of them absolutely ANY of them over Gonzalez or Branch (no way could I forsee Colstons day) then I'd be champ.

It's probably the worst feeling in the world to coach yourself out of a victory. All week long I said I was going to put out the most consistant team I could on the field who would all give me 8-10 points a pop and at the end of the day I gambled on Branch and Gonzalez when I had sure things in Stecker and Maroney and it ended up coming back to haunt me.

I personally blame Tom Brady for everything, if the guy doesn't play half ******ed in the 2nd half I also win my game. But his sudden love for turnovers robs me of a victory. I'm happy I won money but I really wanted to be able to go around calling myself champ.

Hey all, I've been having an issue with my 360.

Since connecting the Xbox to my new TV I have been experiencing start up problems. It occurs whenever I turn the Xbox on for the first time during the day. Once I turn on the Xbox, the logo screen comes on, then it will pause and the Xbox restarts again. It does this about 4 or 5 times. At this point, I will turn off the 360 and disconnect and reconnect the cables. Sometimes this works and the 360 starts working properly. Other occurences include: the a single red light on the Xbox with an error code on the screen "E 64". Sometimes after a few of the restarts, the market place screen eventually pops up, but the 360 becomes unable to read the game in the tray. I have called the customer service, but since the Xbox started functioning properly when I got a hold of someone, I didn't really have a problem at that point. This issue has been happening for 5 straight days now (the exact days I connected my Xbox to my new TV). I would like to be able to just turn on the system without having to disconnect and reconnect cables each time. I have not had any other issues with other systems connected to the same TV (the Nintendo Wii is also connected to the TV). I have tried standing the Xbox up instead of flat and tried using other HDMI cables, but the same issues always happens.

Has this happened to any of you?

Got Orange Box and Scene It.......Haven't tried Orange Box yet, but Scene It is immense fun with 4 players......Heard there's no plans for DLC for it though, which is a bit of a missed oppurtunity. Hope there's at least some plans for themed discs like the James Bond or Harry Potter board versions you can get.

Well...I got a bunch of electronic stuff from my wife for x-mas.....including Mass Effect, Uncharted, and a crapload of Blu Ray movies. My favorite so far...is the item I never even asked for. She got me a "Turtle Beach" gaming headset for the 360. It can send game audio and chat audio through the same feed. So now...late at night....when she's sleeping...I no longer have to turn it way down to where I can't hear anything. I just put these on and crank them up. They really sound incredible. I don't understand how they can get surround sound effects into two headset speakers...but they do. I heard more "sounds" in COD4 last night with the headset...then I had ever heard before with my 5.1 surround sound. Go figure.

About the Assassins Creed flags. The only ones that gave me trouble was the Kingdom Flags. Also I used the lists and photos on the xbox360achievements.org site on a word document and just crossed them off as I found them. I started over to get the kingdom flags since the first time I was missing like 2 or 3 and didnt want to search the entire kingdom looking for those couple flags.

The fans will always be loud even with other cooling stands and other fans. They are always running as long as the system is on.

I dunno I thought they were supposed to be left in an open area so as not to overheat( I was always scared to put mine inside the center so i just left it on top.On another note they say the newer 360s are made with the same fan and inner components as the elites which is said to have a quiter stronger fan.I heard cooling fans were iffy but that is just hearsay

My original call was 12/9 - they told me 3 to 5 days to get the coffin, two weeks for the whole ordeal to be over. After not getting the box that week I finally called again on 12/19 and was told that a box was never generated from the support call and that they would send one out right away. Technically today would be six days from then but Christmas was in there so I'll let it go but if it's not on my porch today I'm going to call and really raise hell.

don't be in such a hurry... on veteran or higher, the enemy has endless supply of frags and all are sniper quality shooters with any weapon they are pointing at you.



ON A SIDE NOTE... for anyone that has the Guitar Hero games will 2 work with the 3rd guitar? I've never played the game but the G/F played at a friends and is now dieing to get the game and 2 can't be found anywhere here, so I want to know before I pre-order 3 and pick up the game only for the second edition.

I believe I got that one my 2nd or 3rd play. I destroyed my wife. I was around 71,000 going into the Final Cut, and scored by getting Back to the Future! Success!!! The sad part was, the next game, I got slaughtered, as I ended up with negative points in 2 or 3 straight rounds. :o

Damn man, that sucks. I was feeling the same way when I went through my coffin ordeal, since it was before Microsoft stood up and proclaimed how they were going to take care of the 3 red light debacles. It took nearly 1 1/2 months for my ordeal to be taken care of. As for your strat, I've read some stories on the RB site of similar. My replacement took a little while, but total time was around 2 1/2 weeks. I'm more concerned about my free game from EA, because I already claimed what I want, but I've gotten no emails stating they got my order, nothing. Good luck, man.

Uh, having a weird issue with Xbox Live.

I've got the wireless adapter, and it's plugged into the HD-DVD drive which is then plugged into my 360. When I sign in to xbox live, it says connected to xbox live, but then the console with the spinning dots logo stays up on the screen, spinning forever, never letting me go into a game. i tried switching the ports the wireless adapter is plugged into, nothing. Tried resetting wireless connection, nothing, tried re-typing in WPA, nothing. When i boot up straight in a game, it hangs in rock band at "communicating with rock central server" or "loading additional content", basically anything trying to contact live.

Any idea *** could be wrong? I'm getting increasingly annoyed.

I can't get that far. There's one of those mandatory updates for Oblivion, so I can't even get to it, since Live won't transmit. Then again, even if I did, if I'm not actually connected to Live, my DLC isn't recognized. Good thing I'm watching the Sabres, anyways. :mad:

There has been issues since the last dashboard update. Maybe you have just been lucky not to experience any until now.

Agreed. The Dashboard itself has been slow to load and maneuver since it was installed/"upgraded", but my biggest concern has been just maintaining the connection itself, since I'd say 95% of the DLC I've installed for my games I still own was done with my prior system and current HD...meaning I have to stay signed in to use it. :mad: :mad: :mad:

They gave me a one month xbox live gold card when I got my system back...I find it very weird that so many people are waiting a long time for their systems back...I thought the service was fantastic....and VERY quick...I sent back an original release system. I was just pleased they did something for me, it was way out of warranty. It only took 13 days...I guess it's like the old saying...It feels like you sit at a stop light for hours when in reality it's only seconds.

Need alittle help guys, I bought a elite to replace my old 360 since I wanted HDMI and a bigger hard drive. Here's the deal I have my PS3 hooked up to my TV (Pioneer PDP-507XG) and I get 1080P/24, but when I hook up my elite with my HD DVD player I get 1080i and I can't change the settings in the setup/display tab to 1080P(it's greyed out) I know the PS3 forces 1080/24 in the setup menu....could this be my issues since you can't forces 1080P/24 with the HD DVD player? Any help would be great!

But at least then you can sorta play the game. All-Star and Superstar make it feel like your players are stuck in molasses while the computer is flying. They have pinpoint shooting and passing the whole game while every pass and shot you attempt is blocked. Plus the bodycheck and pokecheck are nonexistant while for the cpu a tiny guy like St. Louis can breathe on someone like Zdeno Chara and they lose control of the puck. I thought NHL 07 was great and they made some improvements on 08 (like the AHL and deke control), but as far as balance goes the game fails big time.

I actually went with the standard return option and haven't even received my guitar coffin yet. I tried the fix that was posted online and opened up the Strat. One of the contacts fell right apart when I touched it so I was worried that they might not honor the warranty since I opened it up. I want my replacement so bad, it's such a great controller!
I finished the drum muffling trick last night, so much better and probably 10x quieter now too. Total cost was $24.79 at Michael's, $15.99 for the stupid circle-cutter which was hard to figure out how to use. Can you tell which ones I did first before I figured out how to use it? ;)

I'm sure it's a decent game. The reviews I've read have said it's ok just nothing all that special. 9 times out of 10 I'd buy it and hope we could maybe get a boardie game going but this game just happens to have some of the absolute worst timing you could ask for. It comes out a week after Devil May Cry 4 and the same week of Lost Odyssey and Gran Turismo. Thats somewhat of a death wish for a game thats a port of a year old PC game.

Jade Empire is one of my favorite games of all time and has one of the most bad@$$ stories in a videogame ever. But to me I thought KOTOR3 should have taken priority over a sequel to Jade Empire. The way they dumbed down KOTOR2 to to basically use it as a straight setup to 3 almost made me think that KOTOR3 would be right around the corner....but I guess not.

got my 360 back last nite....finally got to try out my xmas goodies....rock band and orange box. they didnt send me my same console back, they said the process would be quicker to ship a refurbed...i was cool with that. as long as it works....though it did give me rrod one time already. but i unplugged everything and put it back together and it was fine. might have been just a loose cord or something.

ps. rock band is too much fun...need to get better on the drums.

I seem to recall an article just a couple months ago discussing that BioWare would be working with LucasArts again this year though...

Not only that but last I knew LucasArts was in love with Bioware and what they did with the Star Wars license. I know it must be difficult to get both of them on the same page but KOTOR was so successful as a game and a story that LucasArts actually accepts it's story and characters into the official Star Wars timeline. Thats pretty impressive coming from a mere videogame.

If anything I think the one thing holding this game back is the fact that they want to get the story 100% right. When Bioware made the first game LucasArts figured it was just some RPG company going out and using the SW license to make a game. But it was such a masterpiece that the games were officially adopted into the timeline. While thats an amazing and great thing I think it's whats holding this game back. If Bioware just wanted to make 3 star wars action games in a row that were "pretty good" but nothing special Lucas would care less. But now they are part of his "baby" so to say. I have this strange feeling that the 3rd KOTOR while years and years apart from Episode 1 they might try to link it somehow and I can only imagine that would be difficult.

But still I'd just like to hear some news that this game does exsist and is coming eventually even if thats 5 years from now.

It's hardly fair to blame Bioware for the missteps of KOTOR 2, though (**Cough**the crappy story**cough**), since Obsidian did it. I think Jade Empire was a decent enough game, and, in many ways, the combat in it was a precursor to Bioware moving to full real-time combat for Mass Effect. Of course, the combat was a tad simple in JE, but still.

Lemme try and explain it best I can.

The red and white plugs go in between your TV and the component Red and White wires from your 360.

Then you plug the USB extension into the green part...and run that to the front of your xbox.

Lastly....connect the headset wires to the base of your xbox controller...and you should be good to go. Just make sure you have it turned down before you try it for the first time....they can get extremely (like eardrum blowing) loud.

Anyways, thanks alot man, those instructions are alot clearer than the manual. I'll try to get it working sometime tonight. What makes it more complicated though is the setup I have my 360 in where all the cords are hidden and enclosed. I need to go and fish out cords and didn't even see red and white cords besides the two they gave me lol. I'm a dunce when it comes to wiring. Yeah, except I'd have gladly paid that premium price to not have a white HD-DVD drive sticking out, taking up space on my entertainment center, and an ugly wi'fi adapter sticking off the back up my system.

I liked Jade Empire. But honestly, I think after launching a game with a new engine, they'd be more concerned about making a follow-up of the popular Kotor franchise. I mean, a lot of people didn't even like Jade Empire. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game and it has it's fans, but come on now... it's TIME for another Kotor, damnit!

the campaign is short but if your into multiplayer that is very rewarding. also give bioshock a try GI gave it game of the year

Well I haven't been online in a while but I've been on live and it has sucked for me these past few days. I tried to go to look at some old demos and I would get to the K's and it would give me the error message. Not to mention the fact of it taking what seemed forever to load the home screen. Picked up COD4 but still haven't played it yet. Also went to Gamestop last week and got the buy 2 used games get 1 free deal so I picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Soul Calibur 2, and Ninja Gaiden. I love all 3.

Gears would have been an awesome online game if it was server based. It is just ridiculous with the lag and host advantages. Also it could probably use more than 8 people per match.

I'll agree with the shotgun battles being thats the only weapon I use:D More offered weapons would be better and of course server based. So we hope that'll be for gears 2.

I just finished the emp thing to get into ryans office. If going in and fighting Ryan is the end of the game, damn. I'm pretty sure it's not though.

That could still mean your box is crapping out on you when you start getting a lot of Unreadable Disc errors.
