Thats a pretty awesome figure, it's a shame they didn't make some of the toy line with actual cover. It's the feature that made the game so badass...would be cool if they had that same head-splatter figure but with him peaking up over a concrete slab or something.

Also to those thinking on picking up Lost Odyssey, don't buy it if you suffer from depression....my god it's like the developers of the game intended to make the saddest game ever. I can imagine their boardroom meetings were like "ok so how do you think we can make a grown man cry while playing a videogame?....oh I know lets just make up and tell the saddest stories ever and make him play through an interactive funeral".

I mean really some of the stuff you read and play through is just awful. Still on disk 1 out of 4 but so far it's been a great game. I had every intention to stop playing the game at 3:30 today and then got stuck in a (I kid you not) 45+ minute long cutscene/interactive cutscene that didn't allow me to save anywhere in the middle of it.

I dont know about the story yet as I am not that far into the game, but those damn dreams. My god. Talk about downers. They could send you into depression.

I won't spoil anything for you because you're still early in the game but a few of them are just amazingly sad. I've heard of some people playing the game and actually crying after reading some of the dream sequences. While they are definately depressing I can't say any of them have hit me that hard yet. But you can tell they are definately trying to get you to get to that point with how thick they lay it on at times.

Well you are right about the Boss battles as well. It took me like 3 or 4 tires to get past the first one.

I couldn't believe it the first time I fought the first boss. My characters had like 500 health, 300 health, and 200 health (something like that, hardly remember now) and then he has an attack that does 250-300 damage across the board. AND HE DID THE ATTACK 3 TIMES IN A ROW!!!

The first 2 bosses are very much luck based. You can go in with well leveled characters, properly outfitted, have the perfect gameplan and at the end of the day if the boss wants to screw you over he'll screw you over and theres no way you'll survive the encounter. Enjoy the 2nd boss....I'll give you one little tidbit of advice....theres TWO of the second bosses. You beat one and just as you breathe a sigh of relief another one spawns. After those 2 battles though I've found the rest of the bosses to be pretty easy. You just gotta take it slow and think about what you're doing.

I'm too lazy to check back through the thread, but has anybody played the multiplayer demo for Frontlines yet? Maybe it's just me, but I think it's terrible. Tons of glitches(which are understandable 'cause it's a demo), pretty crappy graphics, weak guns...just everything about this game feels terrible to me.

Your thoughts?

I thought it played like a cheap version of the PS3 Warhawk series. It also looks like the full game will have an ongoing line between the two factions....much the same way Guild Wars: Factions was. Depending on which side wins the confrontations....the battle lines, and who owns what cities....moves depending on the outcomes of the fights. Easy pass for me.

Jason (GoSkins) and I are the only ones buying Bully:Scholarship Edition next month? I heard the achievements are going to be alot of fun to get but also pretty easy and the co-op was supposed to be a blast as well. You guys can rent it for your old PS2's if you still have them and take it for a test drive, it's pretty much going to be the same game only now with enhanced graphics and new features. Just think of this game as a fulfilling experience to keep you busy before GTA IV comes out.

I think I might just go ahead and get Lost Odyssey. My B Day is right around the corner and I'm struggling to find things to ask for....so I may as well just put this one on the list.

I really like Lost Odyssey but being completely serious with you I really don't think you'd like it. The one reason I say this is because it wasn't all that long ago I remember a conversation you had with me saying Mass Effect bored you to tears. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, the game was very repetitive on the optional planets, so I can't blame you. But if you got bored with the lack of action in that game then Lost Odyssey just isn't for you.

I'm just saying from someone who thought Mass Effect bored them to tears and stopped playing Oblivion because it got boring I don't think you'll survive the first disk of Lost Odyssey.

Then any plans you had for that current round get tossed out the window because you are forced to heal up.

The key to that battle is smartly using Jansen. He will do the vast majority of the damage throughout the entire fight between Prism and Aqua so it's just a matter of knowing when it's time to Prism and when it's time to start owning the big guy with Aqua.

Yeah I hated that force move. It was strange because at times it would take away like 170-200 which is manageable, but then others it takes away like 400 one time it hit me for like 569 HP. That is how I beat both the first bosses was to just use my attackers to Heal Jansen and attack once in a while and then just used flare on the first boss and Aqua on the second bosses. I beat the 2nd boss with one person KOed, one with 3 HP left and one with like 60 left. I knew I only need one more Aqua attack to kill him so I did that hoping that the little guys wouldnt attack me, sure enough the all charged and took him out.

That 45 minute cutscene you were talking about, was it the part you are captured? I ran into that last night. I was stuck playing until like 6 AM until I could find a save point to save and quit.

Hahahahaha yeah thats ONE of the long cutscenes. Theres one later on in the game where you are absolutely locked into the game for at least 45 minutes. No save points, no timeouts, no nothing. Like I had said before I had every intention of turning the game off at 3:30 and I didn't turn off the 360 until 4:30am.

Theres a couple of parts in the game like that. Where the minute you trigger something happening you aren't finished for who knows how long. They just lock you in and theres no getting out.

It truly is. I don't know if my friend set his up wrong or not but he gets signed out of the Playstation network almost every 20 minutes and his router is maybe 6 feet away at most:confused::confused:. Maybe he set it up wrong or the sony network just sucks.

Cory, it's a zombie survival game in a modern urban setting playable with up to 4 players against hordes of the swarming undead. The game has been talked about for quite some time now and is finally close to release. It's made by Valve, the makers of CounterStrike, Day of Defeat, and the Half Life series. The catch is, the zombies are fast like in 28 Days/Weeks Later and not Romero Dawn of the Dead style.

LOL, I just got to the funeral scene. I was going to quit at about 1 when I got to a save point and was nah I will go a little farther and then quit. Well there hasnt been a save point since. Damn come to find out there was a save point in the upstairs this entire time. I knew I should have explored the entire house before talking to the kids.

Yeah I found the save point saved it. Then I was going to go on back to town since I knew there was a save point there. I got the dream part and just turned it off. I was like I will deal with that tomorrow. I just hope I can get those 3 dreams that I missed. Oh well if I dont I will just have try and get them through another playthrough.

You can't miss dreams....they are all opened back up to you before the end of the game. I was kinda po'ed when I missed 3 of the first 5 dreams but after reading a bit I found out you can go back to town and get those.

They all take place in that 1 bar which I never would have guessed. Apparently you have to get a dream walk out of the bar walk back in and you get another, walk out, walk back in get another, walk out, walk back in. I was like "who would ever know to do that?"

I just hope the stories were good because the 1 story you do get from sitting at that bar is one of the best ones I've ever read. The one with the soldier coming home from war.

How could you say that you would get a PS3 just for Blu-ray. I mean I am sure there will be some games that come out only for it that you would end up getting. Such as Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear just to name a couple.

I agree on the PS3. I've supported the Playstation brand since the '95, but I hadn't jumped into this generation yet, because, frankly, there aren't enough games I want to justify the $600 price tag, or the dropped/current price. I have wanted MGS4 since it was announced, but I just can't justify getting a new system just to have the 1 game. Now, once God of War 3 is closer, and the ICO team announces their new project (ICO, Shadow of the Colossus), then we're talking. :cool:

You know you want to play an JRPG so bad you cant hold it back. That is why you throw out the jokes. Yeah Lost Odyssey might not bring a whole lot new to the table, but that doesnt really matter since it is still a good game IMO.

Although one thing I still have a hard time is that the girls name is Seth. Seth is so a boys name to me. Where the hell did they come up with giving a girl the name of Seth. Another thing is what is up with Jansen's glasses, half the time they are on, half the time they arent. Make up your mind do you want the guy to have glasses or not. I know the part before the 2nd Boss, he was sliding down the hill with the glasses on then the next scene he doesnt have them, then the scene right after that they are back on.

I'm talking about running around in this thing for like 2 hours and no freakin save point. I had to go all the way back out to the entrance to call it a night. You probably won't be seeing me play it for a while now. The game just moves a little too slow at times. If you get caught during a down time it's like "oh god just give me something to do, please I beg of you.

I finally busted Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the first time in what seems like 7-8 months. Does anyone still actually have this game? I remember playing it with POR2GEE before when I first got it, and it was kind of laggy---does this game suffer from severe online lag? My current goal is to continue with the comic mission discs. I have 6 left to find (I just got to Act 4), and I have golds on all of them so far except for Ghost Rider & Cap's missions. I just need to replay both their missions, and then find the final 6. I had thought it would be harder to get golds.

I never dealt with that. If there was a game out that required beating in one sitting I'd just leave the game on all night long until the next day when I went back to go play it. Man it's just awful sometimes you'd just wish they'd toss you a bone (aka save point) sometime inbetween like an hours worth of talking or exploring.

As for Marvel Ultimate Alliance that was one of my favorite games out for quite a long time. I played through it a million times but yes the online is awful and I wouldn't subject anyone to it. I got all my multiplayer enjoyment from just having 3 other friends over, the online was too laggy to deal with. One thing I never did was beat it on hard...I had a gamesave on hard but it was too easy...in my previous normal playthrough I gave hulk all the money/skill ups and he was unstoppable on hard. I didn't even have 3 other people in my party I'd just go through levels killing things with him. Beat Fing Fang Foom in like 2 of the big spin punches. It was just bad, theres nothing difficult at all about the hard difficulty.

We already tried that once online and we both died at the water boss. And who wants to play through a superhero game with gimped superheroes. Oh the Hulk hits for less damage then random street punk #3. Booo no thank you.

And also I still hold to the fact that theres nothing difficult about the hard difficulty level, it just requires more human players.

Exactly....and we couldn't get past it. Sounds difficult to me. We just had the wrong set up I think....we both went in playing "tanks".....one of us should have been a support character...like Ms Marvel....and her time slow ability.

What you forget is we played the game where there were only 2 of us fighting. In a game that supports a team of 4 we were like "oh lets not deal with the computer characters". Not only that but since there were only 2 of us the boss fight was against 2 people. Had we just let the computer play too that boss fight would have been a breeze.

The game was difficult because we artificially made it that way. We add 2 other people into our party and regardless of how stupid they are and how bad the cpu is at using their powers they'd still be able to do enough damage or at least take enough of the attention of the bosses to make us plow right through them.

Hmmm....I dunno. You make valid points.....but I just remember how fast we actually went down....and i don't know that another person, or two, would have made a difference. They would have been dead right next to us. The enemy's powers were hitting us for ridiculous amounts of damage......not sure having another player would have changed that.

Well also if you recall as the hulk I could just sit there all day and punch....block, block, block, punch, etc. During that boss fight I could have stayed alive all day if I wanted to but it wouldn't have accomplished anything. If we had the bosses ping-ponging off of each other with someone doing damage, then block, then someone doing damage, blocking, etc I have no doubt those guys would have been dead in 2 seconds with a few nukes, mainly Silver Surfers ridiculous attack.

It's good to see it finally made official. The game getting announced at this year's GDC was probably the worst kept secret of the 360. Nearly every gaming site and magazine was predicting we'd hear it officially announced in SF this week. Now, let's hope the campaign is longer than 7/8 hours, and that the online uses dedicated servers! :cool:

I wouldn't recommend leaving the 360 on overnight, obviously. Of course, you know that, seeing as how you've been through 4 360s, compared to my 2. I would've expected Sakaguchi to have more save points, seeing as how the last few FF installments have an overabundance of them. Maybe he was trying to make Lost Odyssey more "hardcore"?

I think that is the route I will go, then. I for some reason remembered having lag issues playing with the other David, but I couldn't remember if it was just his connection, or if it was the game. Besides, local co-op/adversarial play beats online any day.

I am just focused on beating the game right now, since I never have, as well as going through the comics missions. It wouldn't be right to not beat this game, considering I played the crap out of the X-Men Legends games that came before it.

you have to play the game from the memory card just leave the card plugged in then go to the arcade menu in the dashboard and select it there.

Yea, kinda towards the bottom of the SKU/serial number sticker on the outside of the box, there are other ways you can tell, but...

If the sticker ends with a 175w, it's a Falcon. I figured it would maybe be a little quieter and cooler...but it's VERY noticeable.

I hear they're working on a new set called "opus" which is supposed to cram the new chipsets into older systems. So they won't be on sale...but probably used when sending systems back from 3 red rings. SO assuming things keep going well with the new chipsets...hopefully by the end of the year MS will have the ring of death issue under control.

I got the service plan with it too...as in either spring or fall they're supposed to be releasing the "Jasper" systems...which have the 65nm CPU AND a 65nm GPU...so they'll run even cooler than the Falcons.

But, for anyone who has been considering getting a Falcon system...I would def recommend it. I played Bioshock for a few hours last night....turned it off and felt the back....it was actually cooler than my PS3 is after I've watched a movie. The disc drive still isn't quite as silent as the PS3's....but, it's a lot less noisey than the jet engines my non Falcon units have.

I kinda burned out of Lost Odyssey already. Last night I got stuck in this dungeon and they just absolutely refused to give me a new save point. I'm talking about running around in this thing for like 2 hours and no freakin save point. I had to go all the way back out to the entrance to call it a night. You probably won't be seeing me play it for a while now. The game just moves a little too slow at times. If you get caught during a down time it's like "oh god just give me something to do, please I beg of you.

Where exactly are you? I just finished the 2nd disc. I didnt really like the last part of disc 2 where you had to steal all those cards from the guards when you fight them. That was such a pain in the ass. Plus you had to raise or lower the platforms to walk across places.

Yes, I can relate. I use to play on PS2 primarily and the original Xbox and could smoke alot of people playing Madden on the PS2. I got my Xbox 360 and I never fully regained my skills.:(

They send you what they have in stock at the time in order of your list. So they will send you the first one that is in stock on your list. At least that is how it has worked for me. So if you have multiple games on your list say your 3rd, 5th, 9th and 10th choices they will send you your 3rd choice.

I started the missions, then I said "screw it", and started multiplayer for the heck of it, and I haven't played anything else since. I still have games still shrink wrapped that will probably be on clearance by the time I get to them.

You should definitely play with them. I was their sixth a few nights ago, and sucked donkey balls on shipment. :) It's always fun playing with boardies.

And yes, good luck getting back to the campaign after playing online. I've still yet to make it out of the first stage on COD4, out of the fifth stage on Halo 3 (and that's only b/c i played with AvsFan), and I've never made it out of the second stage on GOW. :) Multiplayer is quick fun for me.

Wait a couple weeks and you can get R6V2 or Army of Two.(depends on the reviews) I was really underwhelmed with Frontlines. Barely worth a rental IMO.

You using Media Player and a wireless connection?

nope... i have a router that my mac and my 360 are both plugged into... when you run the program it will look for a 360 that is plugged into your router...

I can then stream music from my itunes to my 360... or i can load my movies into my movies folder on my mac and play them through that...

Since i dont want to pay for the software I can only stream 100 songs from itunes, 100 pics from my iphoto library and 5 vids from my movies folder... ive just been dragging and dropping vids in and out of the folder so i can play them...

I'm going to download some HD recordings of Dexter and start watching that.

The Tony Hawk guys need to take a year off and step it up. They discussed taking a year off before, but who can turn down free money? Take the exact same engine, add a feature that nobody cares about and you're rich.

The only way I'll ever play another Tony Hawk is if they completely change the way the game is played. I can do every trick in my sleep and most of the goals are way too easy for a person that has been playing since the first game. I even had the GBA versions of Tony Hawk. It's just boring now.

Started Lost Odyssey last night and so far it's fun.

The controls were amazing imo. The right stick was supposed to simulate your foot as to which way your gonna kick the board for a trick. The only complaint I had about skate was the inability to get off your board. That woulda made getting to challenges much easier.

First was awesome, and it scared me to the point I had to stop playing it. It was so intense that I thought I might take the big one, i have thought about starting it over and playing only in the day time.... good game.

Wish there was a demo for 2k8. Wanted to see how it was before I purchase a game this year. I am gonna end up picking up MLB The Show 08 since I played the demo and it was good. I have never been impressed with the 2k baseball games and havent bought a baseball game since 2k6. 2k6 left a bad taste in my mouth especially since I played MVP which was great every year.

Dont understand the decision of not putting out the demo. Makes you wonder if they dont want people to see how bad the game is before hand like they did the last 2 years.

I played through the first one....and it scared the piss out of me. Granted....I only played at late at night...with all the lights off...but still....it was awesome.

Dunno if I'll buy the second...as the replay value in this type of detective game isn't very high....but I'll give it a rent for sure.

Have you seen ebay? After talking to you about how successful you were at selling your 12inch figures I put all of mine up....25 total. And all the danbury mint statues went up for sale, and soon every other piece of junk laying around.

So I don't have the expendable income yet but in about 7 days I'll be all over Army of Two. I'd also like to finish Lost Odyssey first and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Thats my fear, the last low profile game I was this psyched for was Two Worlds and that game killed all of my hope in humanity. I don't want Army of Two to be just as bad and have me waste money on it. I won't buy it until at least a few reviews are out.

lol...I too have since changed my mind....I forgot...I sent my Bluetooth "Warhawk" headset to Ewto...when he bought it off of me. I don't even have one now....so the 360 version is definitely the one I would get.

None of the dreams made me cry, they are more depressing then they are sad. Theres a big difference between sad and depressing. Big Fish is sad, Frosty the Snowman to a young child is sad....Lost Odyssey isn't sad, it's just horribly depressing.

Every dream gets more depressing then the next for a while, the first 10 or so dreams are awful....all they keep doing is telling you everyone you love is going to die and so are you, you hear that 10 times in a row and it gets annoying....then the next 20 dreams are just wastes.

To be fair (And I can't believe I'm defending the anti-Christ of gaming, EA), Army of Two isn't being developed by a team of rookies. You guys kind of put a little too much hype behind a team that had never developed a massive-scaled RPG before, and I think you killed it for yourselves before it even hit. We weren't talking Bioware or Bethesda here, we were talking about Reality Pump! There was no way Two Worlds could be an Arena/Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion, even if people's last (or for some, their first) RPG experience made them compare it to Oblivion.

I'd like to try Army of Two, since I love co-op games (the reason I have Live), but it is definitely a rental. Plus, there is that EA thing... :D

Exactly. It's terrible that these developers don't realize the peer-to-peer Live thing is a joke, and you can't expect to have a game like that running smoothly.

But seriously, some of the guys who had just played Oblivion really thought Reality Pump could put a game out to compare with the likes of Bethesda, who had been doing the Elder Scrolls series since 1994. :p

Word from GDC said mid july-end of august, as the game is in final polish but since it's so big its going to take a little while to get everything perfect.

Damn. I really want Too Human more than any other game this year.
