Early word on MLB 2K8:

Frame rate issues again. Somewhat better in 720P than 1080.
Graphics a slight step back, nothing major.
Pitching is getting good reviews
Hitting is what was expected
Fielding is causing some issues for people, could have something to do with the frame rate.

One glitch I've already read multiple times:
Runner going home on contact, fielder makes a play on the ball to throw to first, runner stops as soon as ball is fielded and returns to bag.

I went to Best Buy to get MLB 2K8 and Bully, but they didn't have either game out so I asked if they had any, and they said they only have MLB 08 The Show, and they haven't seen Bully yet..Whats up with that? So I went to Gamestop and bought Bully..I'll probably get MLB 2K8 Thursday or Friday.

I wanted to buy MLB 2k8, but the more bad reviews I read, I think I'll pass. A couple reviews I read from users even suggested buying last year's version instead. Looks like the PS3 finally has a game thats better on the PS3 and thats baseball.

IGN just reviewed Army of Two gave it a 7.9 overall. Apparently if you play by yourself the game is average if you play it co-op it's actually pretty fun (not suprising). I think it's worth shot. Basically the only things they had to say that were bad about the game was about the AI of your partner and I hope to never have to deal with that.

Well I picked up Bully today( needed a game I could just enjoy rather than try to complete lol) so I opted to get it based on some of the comments in the thread of some of the fun things to do in the game. Just couldnt buy army of two just yet havent heard good or bad about it. Once I hook my router and stuff back up I may grab it but am leary about it playing with the computer the ai might be a tard and cause you to die all of the time:) Bully is enjoyable a little weird on some things you have like kissing boys:eek: wth but definately fun to play it is like GTA of schoolyards:)

it has gotten mixed reviews, but I believe its a terrific game, especially since I love things related to the Crusades and Middle Eastern history. Storyline (excluding the ending), graphics and sound - near flawless, the prettiest-looking game I have ever seen (the 360 version, apparently the PS3 version suffers in the graphics department). The gameplay is very simple, but very very fun. On your first go, you may get overwhelmed by the freedom given to you, but you will settle in very quick. The controls are a little frustrating at times, and actual in-game mechanics could do with a minor patch - there is replay value, but it depends on your taste - if you prefer substance and execution, you will definitely enjoy replaying the game and seeing what you originally missed; if you prefer intense action, there may be very little replay. Overally, I believe you'll enjoy it a lot.

the videos on the web look pretty enticing, but I won't know until a reptuable website posts a sufficient review (I usually use Gamespot or IGN...I never trust Gamepro).

So anyways I just got through playing 2 levels of Army of Two with oaktown and it was pretty damn fun. They really drive home the point that you have to use 2 people to make the game work. Theres just some parts where enemy fire is so hectic that one partner won't even be able to shoot without almost having their head blown off so they blindfire like crazy while the partner slowly but surely picks off everyone who sticks up their head to fire back. Teamwork comes pretty natural but theres some parts where you have to really step your game up. In the last part of the 2nd level we got to a point where we were fighting a boss in heavy armor and oaktown is like "i hit him, he's down! he fell down! go get him" and I run up with my shotgun and just start unloading on this guys downed body. Then there was another part where the level had duel turret spots and oaktown would basically just fire his weapon like crazy get all of their attention and them boom while they weren't looking a shotgun right to the back.

If you like co-op games you should definately give it a try, it reminds me alot of if Gears of War came together and had a kid with Lego Star Wars. You would get Army of Two.

Only downside is we only played for like 3 hours today and are already 1/3rd of the way through the game.

Sadly I'm the same way. I have Splinter Cell that I've still yet to open. College isn't my excuse though, work, and I'm lazy and I'm afraid to get into a game that will require a lot time, hence why I've yet to really start the COD4 campaign. :)

I'd recommend that you start the COD4 campaign. It's great (I couldn't put it down), but it's short and you'll beat it within a few days.

Fair warning: You will die from random grenades a lot.

Don't worry, man, you only need to dedicate around 6-7 hours to complete the campaign.

I can relate to what you're saying, though, but for me it is mostly completely finishing a game before moving on to another. It is the reason why I wanted to be sure I got what I wanted to roleplay out of my character in ES IV: Oblivion before moving on to Mass Effect---which I've owned since it came out, but have yet to play. :p

You can actually beat it in a weekend, only about 6 -7 hours gameplay, although I have heard of people beating it in one sitting. You play as a new Charchter named Elliot that has amnesia, and the flashbacks are used to discover your identity - story is kinda weak. Game is ok if you are a fan of Lost though.

Dayuum Billy got the hook up. I may rent it but will be awhile I have a ton of stuff to play(God it sucks being laid off right now lol,seriously it is getting old being at home all day playing games), but as of late I have too many to play luckily I dont thin k there is anything I want until ninja gaiden II in june because right now I am playing

thanks I almost traded it in towards condemned 2 but decided I should try it 1st lol. It is hard with so many games right now I try and complete 1 before I move on and even with being laid off I am limited in my amount of playtime. I put bully in just to get away from having to play a game that had to be completed. I think of bully as GTA. I have never completed one all the way through but love to play them for a time to time relaxation:).

I'm really enjoying Bully thus far, finished chapter one yesterday (my first day playing) and didn't want to go to sleep.

Depending on the distance from the warehouse, it can be either. Most B&M stores will get it, or at least put it out, on Wednesday. GameStop has their warehouse near the CA docks (or at least did), so they just go over to the company's warehouse on Sunday or Monday, grab their copies, and overnight it to their stores.

After a gaming break for a while, I have a serious addiction to COD 4.

Also recently finished Assassin's Creed. And at the risk of sounding like a fruit... it is graphically one of the best games I've ever seen. The game play gets a little boring after a while, but I was really impressed with the towns you can visit in the game. And although the actual game play was a little frustrating at times, it was nice to play a game that didn't involve you holding some form of a gun, but still yet let you kill 100's of people in some creative ways.

Looking forward to RSV 2, I'll likely log a lot of hours in that game as well.

I'm the same way. If you want to make online modes in a game like GTA then make the entire game co-op. Make GTA a co-op buddy game...hell who knows maybe have the most awesome twist in a videogame ever and at the end you are forced to fight the guy you've played through the entire game co-op with.

But deathmatches, races, objective matches, etc are all crap. I already gave all of that stuff a go on Saints Row and it absolutely blew. GTA is a single player game, always has been always will be. I don't forsee myself ever actually taking GTA online at all.

The melee aspect in that game does suck azz. But there's no way I'd be able to miss chugga's huge head. Even when he's in "cover"...his forehead still sticks out a good 8 inches.

I agree 100%, man. Once again, the next-gen is screwing the pooch. Now, along with HD graphics defining our gaming experiences, we have forced online versus multiplayer that has to be in each and every game, or somehow it isn't a good game. Even going back to its 3/4 view on the original Playstation, Grand Theft Auto is all about the single-player experience. I could give a damn about deathmatch with some random 12-year olds, I just want to experience the main game. Then again, the whole "realism" thing they're going with in GTA IV is a bit scary, since the series has always been one that didn't take itself seriously.

You can delete all of the stuff thats on the HD to begin with but you'll still only have about 14GB's of space. I emptied my 20GB as much as I could and came out with 14GB's....the 120GB drive is even worse...I think when I got it I had like 105GB's or something like that. Thats just how it is.

you might have some live arcade games on the HD but if you want to run music from your pc through your xbox check here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/vista.htm
that way you don't loose any hard drive space filled with music if you don't have windows vista or windows media center then you have to use the zune set up

Has anyone had trouble with the XBOX LIVE Vision camera option on R6V2? I've been trying for almost an hour (seriously) and it continues to tell me my side picture is invalid. I'm turning my head to my left shoulder just like the directions indicate. For schitz & giggles I even turned my head the other way so my head actually faces left after the picture is taken.


When it says "make sure your head is turned to the left," it's referring to MY left and not the camera's left, correct? I'm really sick of doing this, but I want my pic on my character.

i know nothing about hooking up the ipod to your xbox but connecting to live is simple just plug your xbox into the internet then click join xbox live create your gamertag and i think you still get a month of XBOX LIVE GOLD free. then your hooked up to the net and any updates you may need for anygames you have you should automatically be prompted if they need updates. just say yes

I'm really liking the game so far, but I have to do the bulk of the work...my squadmates are getting shot all the time, but it's still a really good game.

Ok oaktown talked me into picking up Rainbow Six (there was nothing else out) so I expect there to be some great terrorists hunts going down.

I thought about inviting you and Keith into my T-Hunts (We only had 2 of us), but I was only going to be on another 30-45 minutes when you guys came on, so I didn't want to start a game and then bail on you guys.

As for the Live Camera thing, it seems even more picky this time around. I had to try 4 times to get my side picture to take. I tried using a mug of Emperor Palpatine, but it wouldn't take it---damn. :p I can safely say, however, the inaccuracy of the picture is back. It once again looks like I have a damn receding hairline, and my hair color is reddish in the back of my character, when my hair is as black as it gets. What the?? :confused:

I hate that the story mode will only support 2 player Co-Op...unlike 4 player like the first one did.....that and the fact you have to control the two NPCs....what a pain in the azz. Other then that.....the gameplay is pretty solid so far. I like the fact it reatained your status from the first one....and unlocked your gear...that was pretty cool.

Like Keith, I would've preferred it still have 4-player co-op, BUT, with the story elements. The issue with the first game's 4-player story co-op is that it didn't take you through the story mode, it just dropped you into the single player levels like it was a T-Hunt. I am not even a fan of the fact that you have to account for your AI teammates in T-Hunts now if your player-controlled partner isn't there.

All in all, though, the game is solid. It's amazing how negative some reviews have been about it being too "similar", yet people buy Madden football year in and out, which is essentially the same base engine. I guess we review based on the publisher, rather than the game?

Maybe it's just me but honestly I thought the last Rainbow Six was actually better then this current one. I just think the game could probably go from a solid 8.3 overall to like a 9.3 if all it did was actually put every enemy in the level when it started. It really annoys me that in basically every terrorist hunt you have to eliminate like 30 terrorists and when the game starts theres actually only 4-5 of them in the entire level. Then you open a door and bam 5 more spawn....then move in 5 more, and 5 more until it's over. I'd rather just them be all pre-loaded doing whatever the hell they are doing all over the map.

I've actually walked into a room said "clear" to a friend of mine only to actually take 1 more step and have 2 people pop up in front of me. It's really good if you have friends over to play through it. My first playthrough I had 3 other people over, everyone picked their favorite superhero and we went crazy. I played through it 3 more times all by myself and none of those playthroughs were even 1% as fun as playing with 3 other people. One time I played through as the Hulk and gave him all the upgrades only to play through another time with him on the hard difficulty and he was so ridiculously powerful that he knocked Fing Fang Foom out in 2 spin punches.

In my opinion it was a great game but no where near as good as X-Men Legends was. MUA took alot of the RPG elements out of the game making the character customization crap.

I was doing a TH on Realistic difficulty and had to stop. They would just spawn right behind me, kill me and start over.

I was doing a TH on Realistic difficulty and had to stop. They would just spawn right behind me, kill me and start over.

It's awful. I don't mind if I'm getting flanked or if the computer just happens to have the greatest IQ known to man and completely out maneuvers me. I have no problems with that. What I do have problems with is playing everything safe, covering all of your tracks, preparing for anything to happen....you've got 1 guy covering every door in the room then 2 terrorists spawn in the middle of the room and kill everyone. It's ridiculous and it sucks.

It completely kills the realism when people have to be like "ok let me go to the corner of this car, that should trigger 10 more people and get us down to 26 left."

I've had the game for less then a week and I'm already wondering how much trade in credit I'd get for it.

To be honest I think I'm through about 5 chapters of it with oaktown and I can't for the life of you tell you what the story is about. I've tried listening to the cutscenes but none of them really make a ton of sense aside from the fact that theres terrorists in las vegas and I need to kill them. If you wanna know how the co-op story is you'd be better off asking oaktown since I just play it, he's the one in charge of the two idiot computer characters.

It's not a bad game, but in fairness before you go taking it back I wasn't a huge fan of the last one, the last game lasted me a month and I called it a day. This one is so similar to the last one that a little bit of my burnout of the last game is probably already started to hit me with the new one.

Thanks for the info. I'm having my doubts because a buddy of mine that I co-op with returned it after one night. He said it played too "slow" for him so he went back to COD4. Maybe I'll try the first R6 game before I crack this one open.

So I got to play some of the Beta for the new battlefield game... its ok... I'm so used to call of duty and it being so fast paced... im not used to having to find a vehicle and drive around to find people... it was pretty fun... the graphics are pretty good... the sound was great...it was a bit glitchy here and there... the environmental damage was pretty cool but sometimes it didnt seem to work... the matches are also crazy long I played one game and it was almost 40 mins long... capture the golden crates game.

My Xbox 360 just went kaput. I received three flashing RROD which I believe means hardware failure? The way I found out was my system kept freezing while I played Bully: SE and thinking it was the game since it has it's problems, I kept re-booting my system (bad idea) and then it would freeze on the "Xbox 360 cinematic" when you load up.
I know I should probably know all this by now as every 360 owner should and I do have a brief idea of what to do but can anyone either post or direct me to my options as how to deal with re-placing/fixing my damaged system? Help would be appreciated, thanks. Looks like I won't be gaming for quite some time:(

If you log in to xbox.com, click the support link on the top right, then click the 'register/repair your console' link on the right side of the page. Just had to go through all this with my brothers console.....his was less than two months old. Makes me worry about mine....it's coming up to a year since I bought mine.

You don't even need to buy an Elite to upgrade to HDMI. Even my son's arcade has one. Just buy that one and pop in your hard drive and you're good to go. Unless you need the larger HD for some reason.

all that should be saved on your hard drive the only thing is i think you'll have to be connected to live. i only say that because that is how the XBLA games work

I went through the same thing when my last one died. I have the ext. warranty from Best Buy though so I didn't have to deal with sending it back to MS. I only wanted the Elite because it was black. I haven't even come close to using all the space on my 20 gig HD so I had no use for the bigger HD. I decided to save $100 and pick up another premium and just bought a faceplate at tru.

the separate 120gb hard drive comes with a transfer cable the elite doesn't however you can call up microsoft customer support and request a transfer cable

I did a side by side comparison of all three and both the Elite and non Arcade 360 said they play old Xbox games and the Arcade did not have it checked off...

You need a hard drive to play the older games. That's why the arcade won't do it. Get a HD and it'll be fine.

^^^^what he said you don't send in your hard drive with the coffin so if you were to go buy the arcade version you could just pop on your HD

I did it once but now it is saying that a Membership restriction does not allow me to use the feature.

If you do, does anyone have one of those trial memberships codes I could use? I don't want to spend money on a membership that I am only going to use once or twice a year.

I'm not actually able to play online as I am on satellite internet and the lag prevents me from playing so I will just be using it to update a couple of games.

Any help is appreciated.

i'm not sure if it applies to roster updates but new game content and i think XBLA games is "exclusive" to gold members for a week maybe two. maybe that is the issue

Woot. I finally got through Army of Two, on Professional, with the AI.

It was SOOOO Aggrivating.

The lobby in the ssc building was damn near impossible with the stupid ai.

Think i'll be throwing this game up on ebay now.

I never had a major issue with the AI granted I am sure it would have been easier with another person. I just had him cover fire and watch his health bar when it got low told him to lay low while I just sit where I am hiding waiting for his health to regen.

I didn't have alot of problems. Just that room, i'd tell him to stay and do cover fire, and all of a sudden he'd be down, down by the globe out in the open. Pissed me off :)
