Same here you have to go into network connections and your wireless and allow other users to use the device. Then plug up and it works might take a little tweeking to get it right though.

I had to go through my computers Network connections for it to work the xbox has nothing to do with it. My computer uses wireless so the router isn't connected to anything except the modem. When I get home tonight I will PM you with how to do it exactly.

Yeah, I'd stick with my pick of Saint's Row and Cory's picks of Dead Rising and Crackdown then if you haven't already played them because I'm fairly sure that they're all pretty cheap now and might be those "Platinum Hits" by now. All three of those are fun games! COD4 is another pick but I'm sure you've probably played that by now and I think it might still be close to full price at Gamestop/EB Games. I'll post more as I think of them.

It gets worse. Every time I try to sign onto Xbox Live, it tells me that my gamertag is no longer allowed. Then, it gives me the option to Change my gamertag. What happens when I click on Change Gamertag? It tells me that I need to be signed onto Xbox Live for that. It's a never ending circle of Microsoft stupidity. If you're going to ban gamertags, at least don't screw up the system for changing gamertags for those people. I'm sure everybody else can change their gamertag easily except for the people with banned tags.

Does anybody know of another way to change my gamertag? I went to Xbox Live.com and clicked on "edit gamertag" and my gamertag is greyed out. Am I just screwed?

I would guess either the "fn" or the "kill" part is what they don't like. I have no clue why that would be a big problem, but I'm willing to change it. The only problem is that their system is glitchy for people with banned tags. I've done some searching and I'm not the only one with this problem, but I couldn't find a solution. I'm going to try posting on the Xbox Live forums.

If they banned you for an inappropriate gamercard, you can't change it from your computer. That was the first place that I went after it wouldn't let me change it on the 360. My gamertag was greyed out under the edit gamercard area so yes, I would blame Microsoft for that. I even researched the problem and I'm not the only one with it. Their system is glitchy. If they're going to ban people, they shouldn't screw up the system for those people to change gamertags in the process. Especially when they ask you to change gamertags after two + years.

Seems I'll be holding out for Silent Hill Homecoming I guess. Really looking forward to that game, as it looks a lot better than the last game. Gonna have to get Soul Calibur IV pretty soon as well. Apparently the game is a huge freakin' hit. I've only seen a few copies here and there in local stores and it's not even available on Gamestop.com, save for the collector's edition.

I was a huge fan of the original Mercenaries, but the missions weren't the greatest sometimes (a la the GTA series). I'm hoping that Mercenaries 2 is more than just a graphical facelift. I am already a huge fan of the co-op that was added. The fact that it works like Crackdown is even better. I'm loving how you can help a friend in their campaign, but bring the "goods" you earn back to your own.

I think mercs 2 will have a bit more depths, but not much. i think it is going to be more a you screwed me over, so now I'm going to rain hell down all around you. And remember kids.... don't go and get any bright ideas as to air striking your own depot just to see a pretty explotion. The makers have already stated that you will lose all of the stores and you will be at a loss for support and such. So the moral of the store... save the game before you do it.

I've been playing Halo 3 and NHL 08.

I'm really not getting caught up in Madden 09 or NCAA 09 at all. I've got both and neither of them impressed me too much and I've been a huge football gamer for quite some time. NBA Live 08 and MLB 2K8 were total disappointments.

I've been enjoying Halo 3 b/c it matches me up with other people around my skill level.....I'm average at best. NHL 08 I've gotten pretty dominant. I win about 9 out of every 10 games....just my roomates play and ruin my record.

I've been telling myself to do the same thing. Bioshock was an experience like no other I've had with a game and is easily the best I've ever played.

I agree, man. I was a huge supporter of 2K Hockey all the way back to the original one on the Dreamcast. They made huge strides in the hockey game area, and were blowing EA's arcade-fest away. Sadly, however, they got left in the dust a few years back. The games just don't play "fun" any longer. For all the issues I've had with the inconsistent AI in the EA series the past few years, the game itself plays better than 2K's. It is a sad day.

Actually that used to be the case. Kevin Smith said just last week in an interview how Wednesday is the new Friday. Movies are coming out early in an attempt to get a jump on the weekend business, especially in crowded weeks. I don't expect every movie to do it but you are seeing it much more than in years past.

New Tiger Woods is fun. Seems a hell of a lot more user friendly this year, they really polished some of the features. Little things, like after each shot by the ball on the lower left they'll show if you went straight with the analog or not.

Graphics look good, did the camera facial feature last night. Kinda looks like me. R6 is better IMO, but I'll fiddle with it.

You level up by performance now, which is a great idea, it plays to your strengths and weaknesses. And you'll lose attribute points for doing crappy in certain areas. But afterward you can practice on those roughs spots to gain them back. Cool feature.
You can also adjust/tune your clubs to your ability. If you constantly slice, you can set up a driver to naturally compensate.

Haven't jumped online yet with friends, that'll be soon.

Only thing that sucks is the new announcers. I liked McCord and Feherty, this new guy seems like he's bored if he says anything at all, and the chick is no better.

Seems like a much better game than last year though. The new courses I tried look really good.

I didn't play Braid, but Castle Crashers is awesome. If you like those old school games like Final Fight, Ninja Turtles and Streets of Rage; this is just as fun. You even earn stats as you play so you can upgrade your character. It's also longer than those other games that I just mentioned.

Well I just tossed a bunch of money right down the drain for a 360 elite. Yeah, couldn't wait for my 360 to get back from Microsoft (stupid UPS guy). I bought it from Best Buy and got their replacement plan so if this one breaks I can just return it to Best Buy and they'll hand me a new one right off the shelf. That sounds a lot better than screwing around with Microsoft and their crap. I hit a few snags trying to get it set up (connecting to live) but everything's working fine now. I'm downloading all my arcade games at the moment.

I've heard all the horror stories about how craptacular Microsoft's replacements can be. A friend of mine got his replacement last year and it worked for a whole two months before it crapped out on him. SHe says that is a problem they linked with the red rings. I tell her I know, it's exactly what happened to my first system (they sent me a refurb). So she asks me if I got the red rings, I tell her not yet. She says she'll put in a work order and it'll cost $100. I ask why and she says the system is out of warranty, the three year warranty is only for the red rings. I say you already know the freezing is linked to that problem, why should I have to wait until that happens to send my system in to be repaired? Anyway long story short this goes back and forth for about half an hour before they finally agree to fix it for free. Good times. :cool:

If you're a fan of the 1st one, you love it. If you're a fan of "open world" games where destruction is the name of the game, this one is great. I love it. I am a bit concerned with being at 50% completion after only 7ish hours of gaming, but nevertheless, it is still as fun a ride as the 1st game. It is once again a blast to run missions for the various factions, all the while pissing the guys you were already working for off. And damn, is it expensive to pay off a faction to "bribe" them. :D

I do agree with you, supertim, on the voice acting. Some of the dialogue is downright repetitive and annoying at times.

Well I was all set to go put my money on Nba 2K9 today and the game store guy said live would be better game than 2k this year. I have loved 2k basketball forever but after hearing about the live stat tracking and other features on live it is tempting to get. Your stats go up and down each day according to the real players performance in real games as long qas you connect to the internet. Also if you create a player you play as that player all game long and the other 4 teammates are Ai controlled. Anyone hear anything between these two games?

The deal was yesterday. It was 39.99 for NCAA 09 on the 360. I highly doubt it will be down to 30 dollars by Christmas. It wont go that low until after probably spring.

I didn't play Braid, but Castle Crashers is awesome.

I tried to talk myself out of it, thanks to the $15 price tag, but Smbdyfnkillme speaks the truth---Castle Crashers is no doubt a Hell of a game. This game helps to reinforce my belief that gameplay IS more important than any 720p or 1080p. The game is all about constant fighting, yet has legs thanks to level ups and XP earning. This game takes me back to the youth of 4-player arcade madness, when social bashing of enemy wave after enemy wave was all the rage. It is a definite must-buy for anyone who is on the fence.

If you like those old school games like Final Fight, Ninja Turtles and Streets of Rage; this is just as fun.

I'd like to add in the X-Men 4-player arcade game, as well as the Simpsons. :p Your mention of Streets of Rage makes me sad, since I still to this day can't figure out why Sega never has made a Streets of Rage 4. They should have made it for the Dreamcast, those idiots. :mad:

Castle Crashers is great, but trying to get into a 4 player game on Live is a *****. Either I'm constantly getting kick out of a room, the game is canceled shortly before or after you pick your character, or the damn game freezes. I've only been able to get into one game on Live.

I think some kid canceled a game because I picked the fire knight I'd been leveling up instead of the Alien Hominid.

I'm thinking of buying an ARCADE 360 and a 120 GB hard drive, which gonna cost me $370.98.

My only concern is will I be able to transfer the files from my 20GB to the 120GB hard drive.

I'm thinking something might go wrong.

They are a one time use thing... which is kinda sad. Why not include drivers to transfer 20GB to 20GB or even new drivers for 20GB to 60GB.

Microsoft will release a dozen new demos after the launch. There will be four new downloadable pieces of content a preview of the GTA DLC. A Mass Effect expansion. Portal and a free map pack for Halo 3.

Microsoft will unveil twelve new games never seen before that will be exclusive or first on the 360. Strangely enough the author only gives out code names for said games. Though they speculate that among them is Assassins Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, a new Conker title, a Rare shooter new franchise, and two new Halo titles.

all i can say is the xbox keeps cranking out good games.... both arcade and retail. My only grip is the M$ points, and high priced equipment.... I mean the 120gb is a rip off even with the price cut.

Very true, however since EA acquired Bioware there have been rumors of Mass Effect going multiplatform... if this is true, then ME stays a 360 exclusive.
