The recently unveiled Left 4 Dead Survival pack for the Xbox 360 and PC will be free, Valve announced today.

The pack, due this spring, introduces a new multiplayer game mode entitled, Survival, plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode (Death Toll, Dead Air). A Critic's Choice Edition of the game will be heading to retail stores this spring, and will include access to all the content introduced in the L4D: Survival Pack.

I'm fortunate that I got a smoking deal on that game from Amazon, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna need to go to Gamestop so I can get Halo Wars or something, Gears 2 is gonna go right along with it. They both started out AWESOME, and I'm a person that will hold onto a game forever if I really like it, but I'm pretty disappointed with the long term replay.

If Valve wanted to WOW me they'd release the real storyline and ad a couple of maps, but since that's not gonna happen, I'll just go back the the Orange Box, and Fallout 3.

Not really, just maybe 2 or 3. In Survival mode, you have no destination and no safe houses. YOU WILL DIE, it's just a matter of when.

I think what you really meant to rant on was the patches, Mike. How many games on 360 & PS3 now get the "PC treatment"----Game gets pushed to stores, is broken/full of bugs, then gets patched to run properly within weeks? That's unacceptable, but a sad fact of life now that consoles are heavily entrenched in the online realm.

I was using my son's 360 to transfer my saves to memory cards when I saw you on. It had crapped out a bit earlier than that.

I have an extended warranty from Best Buy on it. It's not as simple as it used to be to swap it out but hopefully they won't give me too much of a hassle.

When I just got mine last month, they offered me the extended warranty & i asked what it offers me.

The guy said that if something happened to the console, I could bring it back, they would test it and confirm it's deadness and then I can just get another one.

Based upon that, I said yes and bought it.

My Rock Band 2 guitar was dead straight out of the package and I brought the whole package back and they swapped it out without any hassle.

Thanks. Yeah it's the test and confirm thing that can be a pain in the ass. They used to just swap it out without any hassles. Now if your console freezes up intermittently they make you stand around forever waiting for it to happen again. Mine froze up at least a half a dozen times yesterday. Within a few minutes of turning it off and back on. Hopefully it'll do the same at BB today and I won't have any issues.

Yeah, like Kevin said, I was disappointed. Some of the minikits were next to impossible to get without getting a walkthrough or cheats and even after getting the detector, you're still like "How the **** do I get in there?!?!?!?!" ... and it was very short. Not a ton of replay value.

That being said, I'll probably blow through it just to get the achievement points.

Thanks PB. I will probably just trade in or sell my current copy of World Tour. I got the bundle new and sealed today on ebay from a seller with 100% feedback for $132.50 shipped. Very stoked to get the drums. I tried them at my girlfriend's parent's house (her dad has the bundle) and thought they were cool. Plus the gf is a great singer so we'll have a blast.

After buying it on X-mas and picking it up on the 26th, I FINALLY opened COD5 and it's FANTASTIC. I suck hard at tossing the grenades back and I just try to sprint the hell out of the way though. The gameplay is really solid and i'm enjoying the controls. I'm still not sure how many weapons I can carry minus my usual pistol.

and I had to laugh during the first few stages as I kept referring to Roebuck as "Jack Bauer." Overall, great game so far.

Ok so I was playing gtaiv free mode and there was this guy hacking.He would shoot grenades instead of bullets, drive cars(any vehicle actually) faster than a heli and he had some sort of extra health. I am somewhat pissed after this because hackers were one of the reasons I quit pc gaming. I know hackers were abundant on the first xbox, but this is the first one I have seen on the 360.
Anyway i filed a complain and i really hope they do something about it.

you can use molotovs and pipe bombs. but the only firearm you can use is pistol.

the best thing to do is, dont even pick up a weapon at the beginning of the level, just hang back until you get your second pistol.

Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous but fun nonetheless.

Best part was when the Tank KO'ed my ass off the building with a right punch, then followed up with a left punch to KO your ass off the building thus ending our game. :D

Had fun playing L4D last night with everyone. Sorry I kept shooting everyone throughout - y'all need to stay out of my way when I'm firing;) Most of you should be used to my shoot first mentality after playing so much Gears together. I turn around and chainsaw anything that moves, Locust or not:D

DLC packs already planned. First pack is soon, rumor is it's the Nurburgring F1 track and Spa. They're adding more old classic cars and hopefully more FIA GT cars as well.


But it is bare bones. No storyline, no cutscenes, no painting, no adding parts. It's all just racing race cars. Career is plain, get contracts from teams and work your way up the classes of cars.

I haven't unlocked the GT class yet. Can't wait to get the 24hr LMS Aston Martin or the Spyker.

At the start the Mini Cooper, Caterham, WTCC cars, and Formula BMW are unlocked for single races/practice, online, etc.

All in all, this is the game I've been waiting for.

Completely different. It's a sim as opposed to Grid's more loose, arcade style. The graphics aren't as good as Grid. Some people will find Race Pro's handling totally unforgiving.

But there are so many options to tweak, you can make it easier or harder if you want.

Both great IMO. Just different. I wish that Grid has these physics and handling, or Race Pro had the whole 2006 LeMans series in it.

Yeah, i noticed if it's a straight road I can outrun them with ease, but if i have to hit any turns, i usually crash and then take off on foot. the radar is pretty helpful though; and thanks for the save info! I didn't know that! :)

Man VS Tank ain't bad. Just start on teh final level of no mercy, grab the molotov. Go up top and get a tank, start him on fire and run around. Make sure you have 4 people so noone else will hit him, or kill off the computers. As long as you stay away and pop him a few times you'll get it.

Auto Shottie does more damage, but the m16 pops off faster so they are pretty equal all in all.

When I got it, he actually knocked me down, and then went after a friend who kept him near me so i could keep shooting him so make sure to grab both pistols also. :)

Not sure how you guys cant get to the heli. Once the you kill the second tank dont do anything but make your way to the landing pad. I hate to say it but if someone gets swarmed, just leave them because it is only going to get you both killed. Just hope there isnt a smoker there to rip you off of the chopper, as that did happen to me once.

I know a trick for no mercy, and we wouldn't have to use the jesus room. Blood harvest was my hardest one.

I just helped a friend get the legendary Halo achievement last night. It feels good to help. :)

The rafters in the barn are the best place to dodge around the tank for Blood harvest.
On no mercy, there is a trick spot that you can get to, where you wedge between the a/c and wall. Tanks can't get you.

Was it still on the No Mercy campaign? Maybe we should try a different one? It would still be difficult, but might be worth a shot. I'm down for sometime this weekend, or starting a tad earlier in the evening.

The teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2 got me wanting to play the first one over again. Then I saw Mass Effect only costs $20 now and it comes with the DLC so I went out and bought it. Mass Effect I think is still one of my top 3 games from this generation of gaming.

No, my PS3 is safe. I'm always covered with the PS3 anyways, I bought a second one for LAN/Living Room movie watching purposes. I have a 2nd 360 too but guess what that one has. It's funny because if you trade in all of your accessories and just keep your hard drive it's actually cheaper to buy a completely new arcade 360 than it is to fix an elite 360 with a E-74 problem thats out of warranty. Oops, spoiler, I just gave away what my other 360 has.

Nope no warranty, it was one of the first batches of Xbox360 Elites. I still have it, I figure I'll send it out for repair when my current one bites the dust.

My first run Elite died late last year - out of warranty. It was due to an inept CSR and the NXE update. After 2 days, 2 countries, and 7 people, the combined efforts of me and my wife got Microsoft to not only fix my out of warranty console, but to do it for free. I loved it, though. I think the coffin was shipped from Kentucky to me in Texas, then I shipped the coffin with my console to Mesquite, TX - three hours from my house!!! It would have made more sense to me for the repair center to handle things from start to finish. Guess that is too logical for Microsoft to handle.

My Elite is quieter now - don't know what was replaced on my system, but it is also running a bit cooler. It seems my 80GB PS3 runs hotter than my 360. Nothing scientific, obviously - just seems to be that way now.

OK, need some help from those with GH: World Tour. Have any of you had issues with the guitar just randomly strumming or something and causing you to fail songs? I just got the bundle yesterday and tonight while playing Schism by Tool, the guitar kept acting as if I was strumming and playing notes during the opening of the song and it caused me to fail everytime. I knew it wasn't me when I removed my hands from the guitar and it did it. Any ideas or suggestions? If worse comes to worse, I'll just try to return it to the ebay seller or a local store like Target or Walmart.

It's dishonest, but buy the same bundle from WM or another store... if the new guitar works return the old one in the box.

So Lost Planet 2, huh? I saw the sneak-peek on Live and we were really impressed. I guess it's Gears with Mecha? The game mechanics for Gears needs some tweaking so maybe Capcom's improved upon it? Gonna have to keep an eye on this one - even the wife wants to play it.

I didn't mean overall GS, just his GS at Street Fighter games. His GS at SF games is laughable - that's why his complaints are invalid. He has no idea how to play, yet he wants to whine.

I was referring to YOUR lack of GS in the Street Fighter games. Based upon you extremely low GS, I came to the conclusion that this post is more whining than legit complaining. In a fighting game, there has to be 1 winner and 1 loser. There is a pretty good chance you will be that guy I like to pick on in these games because you're an easy win. Some people just don't have what it takes to be competitive in a game of skill. Do you see people complaining because they can't pick up a basketball and beat the pros? No, you don't.
