I finally got back into playing L4D online as it's been a while; had a pretty good time these last few nights and hope to jump on tonight if anybody cares to join.

I'm lookin' forward to the new content tomorrow although I don't do the versus at all (i'm all fo campaign) but i'm looking forward to any new levels they add for campaign, if any.

oh and I had to put down COD:WAW as I was beginning to HATE IT while trying to beat the game on vet for more points. lol ;)

and I know this isn't the place to mention/ask this, but has anybody else had SERIOUS trouble getting to the boards? It keeps timing me out and giving me PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED messages.... any clue what's going on?



I still need some achievement points, so I'll be down for some L4D, but I can't talk into the headset ... but I'll be listening if you talk.


As for the boards, they've been down since like Friday night-ish because they purged all the boards of the old and useless threads.

How the **** do I blow up the helicopter in Acta Non Verba after you blow up two of the 3 antennas?

Every time I shoot a rocket at the *****, he just dodges it and now I'm all out of ammo.

I gave up last night out of frustration, but I'm gonna try again tonight.

I think you are talking about Crossing over not Acta Non Verba. You don't worry about helicopter just get in the vehicle and drive to the base. When you get there the helicopter leaves and you just deal with humans.

Yeah, you're right ... it is Crossing Over. I forgot I beat ANV already.

I wondered that, but by the time my brain came up with the idea, he had already blown up every building and all the vehicles.

Next time, I'll just haul ass to the next antenna.

I'll try Giles' tactic first and if I get blown to **** too many times, I'll just try to slowly but surely beat him down.

I gotta say, that I love how in this game your teammates actually are helpful.

I got soooooo sick and tired of always having to do everything myself in games like Lego Star Wars while having a completely usesless teammate.

I also really like that enemies don't regenerate health or just come back to life if you die. Makes me insane to have to do everything over and kill the same guys 20 times.

It's probably why I like this game so much.

I think I'm pretty decent at the game, but sometimes I get so frustrated with these idiots I have to play.

Like when Player 2 calls Uno, puts down a wild card and calls yellow as his color, the game goes to Player 3 and they put down a ****ing yellow reverse, HANDING Player 2 the game.

Then you get to see their hand and they had 3 other yellow cards!!!

I just completed the NHL 3 on 3 arcade (100% legit on 11 out of 12 achievements because the final one is impossible to do solo) so that's 1 XBLA and 1 Retail game completed for me.


Wow... Boston's about to go up 3-0 on Montreal. Amazing how the beginning of the season had "SOAP OPERA" written all over it but turned out to be a horror story for the Habs.

I actually won a game of Uno on the first go around. I guess everyone had a bunch of face cards, because after I went out it told me I won and I got 258 points on the first and only hand.

They upgraded the first game and made it playable on the 360, Escape from Butcher Bay (I think it was only available on XBox, not the 360) and included a bunch of DLC codes or extra maps or something to Dark Athena.

Really worth the $$ if you think about it.

It's really addictive and the entire concept blows away the Tony Hawk games. I was getting tired of holding hand plants on the top of ferris wheels. It's tough getting used to the controls though. The Lighthouse level is frustrating as hell if you don't have a plan... if you go in and just gun it out, you'll be lucky to last 2 minutes. There's really no one good spot to try and hold out on the map like the others.

Played some of hte survival mode and liked it; not as much as the campaigns, but it's highly entertaining. My group and I brought all the gas cans and whatnot to the second highest level below the lighthouse and stocked up on pipe bombs and used each item accordingly. The longest we went was about 3 1/2 minutes; I got knocked into the ocean by a tank.................twice. hehehehe

I wish we could get more campaign levels. I'd prefer those.

I also randomly got two new achievements unlocked: hunter punter and dead stop I believe; I was pretty pleased. :)

Yes - I need the Jump Shot, Field Medic (heal 25 survivors), Pharm-assist (10 pain pills), Sneak around witch. Stomach upset would be cool, too:)

All four pile in there and take things out; it usually works. Or, relax in the room by the stairs and take chances running back to ammo. The folks tonight wanted to go on the rooftop and use the gattling gun and blah blah blah.

during the week i'm not on until 11:30 midnight sometimes closer to one i don't get off work till 11 (central) i was on last night playing the vs mode picked up 2 achievments missed the boomer one by one person so if your on tonight i send an invite otherwise the weekends i can get on earlier.

in terms of having something new to play yes. also the new zombie map is really cool and even better yet different in how you play it vs how you play the first map. fav map for the new pack is nightfire i believe it's called

left controls movement and the right knob is left and right to deke, forward to shoot and back then forward to slapshot. Its pretty easy. right knob also checks.

well, right now it's at miscrosoft.. gave them a decent story, told them the actual problem of 2 lights but threw in "and half the time it freezes on start up and i get three red lights" ;) under the repair staus it's still listed as "being repaired" so we'll see what happens.

if they don't fix it i'll try and do it myself. i'm a career computer tech guy for many years and they're not that hard to figure out. i routinely haul apart and fix my original xbox myself. i have a 360 in pieces on my floor now my friend donated to me for "research", i just need some thermal paste and maybe a soldering iron.

It's all good. I got real bored with the whole survival thing anyway, so I just went back to playing some songs on RB2.

I was hoping to complete the game, but it seems like every time I do something good, I unlock like 90 more venues and the game feel endless.

Kinda agree with sentence #1; REALLY agree with the last sentence. I have a lot more fun playing campaigns and a few more levels would be AMAZING.

I think they'll do it in time though; a sequel won't work for this game and L4D has a HUGE following that would gladly download/buy new levels. C'mon Valve! Make some new levels!!

And there is an uncaged version of the game with even more gore. the demo was awesome with the lunging aspects and the regen of health with his skin being ripped off and it slowly grows back. The cinematics were awesome to watch too. Origins, Red Faction, and Battlefield were all really awesome demos.

It is all about practice. Everyone sucks when they first start playing. It just takes time to get the hang of it. I guess it also helped that we all use to play each other so you would get to know the habits of the other players as well, so you had a pretty good idea of where they would be and stuff.

Happens to everyone Eric. When you're host....your shotgun is golden. A one shot show stopper. When you're not host...or in a connection relatively close to the host...avoid close combat...you can't win.

That is why it is nice to learn to snipe. Once they are missing their head there is no chance that their shotgun is going to kill you. Plus the melee on the weapons are so overpowered that they are effective close range as well.

I was already scared to see one of my favorite franchises from childhood given the "next-gen" treatment (most updates are terrible...although BC: Rearmed was outstanding), especially with what seemed like a tacked on multiplayer. Why is it that developers feel they have to tack on a multiplayer. Are we really that petty nowadays a great single player campaign isn't enough? :confused:

My 20 GB from 2006 is finally at its end. I have just under 3 GB left. Thanks to RB/RB 2, Oblivion, and my Fallout 3 stuff alone (I have all expansions for both), my HDD has taken a beating. I am planning on getting a 60 GB HDD, and I know it doesn't have the holy transfer kit. Does anyone have one that I can buy or borrow? I come with some references here (Scott, Rob, Mike---stand up for me!). Or, is Microsoft willing to let me pass on not having bought a new system? Their form for the kit implies you need to buy a new one. Help! :cool:

The wording on all of Microsoft's "official" pages imply you need to be going from a 20 GB to a 120 GB. It's amazing that they assume that everyone is buying an Elite fresh, yet they include the kit in a 120 GB. Still, the 60 GB SKU came out later. I have thought about the 120 GB HDD, but it's all about cost versus use. Decisions, decisions...

I guess it might not be so bad to buy the 120 GB, especially since Infamous is the next game I even see on the horizon to buy for myself.

I was just whining to Mike recently how this has been my recent experience with them, as well. They took nearly 3 business days after getting my last 2 games to send the next. They were spot-on when I was in the free trial period (a month ago), but they seemed to start sucking once it got to the paid part. And, to boot, they always seem to be shipping from a secondary station, instead of my primary. Granted, my primary is LA (since I live in CA), and I can understand it being busy, but we're not talking brand new games here. I am getting some games that are 1 1/2 years old from them.

I have a question for you guys regarding getting online w/ my 360 and PS3. I just moved and my router is now in the office (it used to be in the bedroom w/ my PS3 and 360). It is too far to run cables to both units. Would it work to get a 2nd router out in the living room, plug the units into that and have the routers talking to each other? It was my Dad's suggestion. I was just curious if anyone out there has a similar set up.

Is it a wireless router? If not it might be the way to go. The PS3 already has built in Wifi so you would be set with that one. You can get an adapter for the 360 as well.

I have a question for you guys regarding getting online w/ my 360 and PS3. I just moved and my router is now in the office (it used to be in the bedroom w/ my PS3 and 360). It is too far to run cables to both units. Would it work to get a 2nd router out in the living room, plug the units into that and have the routers talking to each other? It was my Dad's suggestion. I was just curious if anyone out there has a similar set up.

Is it a wireless router? If not it might be the way to go. The PS3 already has built in Wifi so you would be set with that one. You can get an adapter for the 360 as well.

Linksys Wireless-G router. That is with the computer and the idea is to set up another one in the living room w/ the 360 and PS3. That would then communicate with the router in the office (main connection).

I think it would just be easier to get a wireless adapter for the 360. Getting two routers to work with each other and share can be a pain at times. As I have said you should be good to go already with the PS3. As it comes equipped with a wireless card.

Gambit fight was cool, i hated the weapon 11 fight. I can't decide if it's worth playing through on hard for the achievment, i think i'm done with the game.

I played that russian sniper level on expert or whatever and it was DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. It took me many, many tries to get through it, but dammit, I finally did. hehehe

It isn't terrible, but MW is better. It was just Mike and I doing our known "CoD hating". I have never said I HATE the franchise, merely that it isn't the perfect game series it has been made to be since MW.

BTW, Black Cats is my favorite level. :cool:

See I didnt hate COD4 as a game, I actually hated the multiplayer part of it. It was just a huge camp and sniper fest. I am sorry but that is just boring as hell to me.

I'm supposed to climb or walk over a metal wall, but I for some reason CANNOT do this.

Is there a special trick or spot?

When I jump on it, Robin sticks for a microsecond then falls off or jumps off.

If I press any direction, he falls. Any buttons, he jumps. It's making me insane!!!

So I play Lego Batman and get 9 more achievements only to see that my gamercard still has my old gamer points score.

The next time I log on and connect to Live, will it update or do I have to do all those damn things over again?

as long as you don't recover your gamercard before the next time you connect then you will get the achievments, it'll just say "aquired" next to them instead of an actual date

So I went ahead and bought the elite this morning, but then I realized that the new elites don't come with the jasper chips. So I returned it and went ahead with the Arcade edition with the new Jasper chip. I plugged it and played COD4 on it...um, it's supposed to require less energy and it's cooler than the others, but damn, the disc drive is waaaay too loud.

I guess I'll go ahead and upgrade the HDD to 120 to download the games because it's just distractingly loud.

Actually, I used the stupid MN-740 at Kabong's recommendation and I hate it. It doesn't plug into anything on the 360 except the ethernet port.

It was easy to hook up, but straight out of the box it's given me nothing but issues.

I'll probably just bite the bullet and get the MS one.

OK, guys.... Some more Lego Batman help!

I'm gonna suggest that it's only because it was late, I was really tired and frustrated, but I cannot get I think minikit #8 on The Face Off when you fight Two-Face.

It's the one where after you pass the broken up bridge where you have to assemble the jumping platforms to the right and left, there's a left side minikit, which I got and then there's a right side minikit where you have to freeze some water, then super jump onto the water.

What the hell do I do? I froze the water but anytime I go to super jump, Mr. Freeze can't do it, the Joker can't do it and everyone else just dies in the toxic waste.
