Roenick makes me sick. I bet he plays for the Flyers if there's a season even though he has concussion problems. Why? BECAUSE HE'LL GET A PAYCHECK. Roenick is a disgrace to his country for not manning up and putting on that red white and blue jersey.
well... playing in the World Cup, he would be putting his career on the line, and what does he get in return??? A chance at winning the World Cup... not a big deal as he already did that in 96. Play in the NHL, again he is putting his career on the line, but he gets paid AND he has a shot at the Stanley Cup, something that has alluded him his entire career thus far

Man, I LOVE Roenick. If for no other reason cause he's such a character and the NHL needs personality. I went to Superstars today to try and trade in a short print Belfour Spectrum parallel 07/10 from this 03'04 SPx. For those of you that know me, you know that I absolutely can't stand Belfour so I was willing to take whatever they'd give me for it. They weren't sure what to give me for it so I got a 2003 Fleer Peyton Manning jersey card which they were selling for $15. The guy told me that he'd like to give me a little bit more, so I asked if they would toss on a pack of SPA. He had no problem doing that so in total I got about $23 in trade for it. Anyways point being is I had yet to pull anything good from SPA this year and I ended up getting the Future Watch Signature of Peter Sejna 101/900. Not a huge pull but at least it was something. I've got photos up on the main page of my tradelist

I've got a question for you guys. I've recently acquired the Pacific Draft Day set through a trade. It's the one that has 3 All-Star net cards and 8 Calder Candidates #'d/499. I'm debating whether to trade or sell it. If I were to offer it up what would any of you be willing to trade for it? Just weighing my options here. I collect Roy, RC's and autos so keep that in mind.

Hey Everyone

How's it going? I haven't posted on the board in a long time, but I do stop in every now and then to find out the latest news. One of the threads that I always check when I'm here is this hockey card thread. I find it interesting to read up on your latest ebay win or see pictures of your mail day. The reason I take such a interest in this is becasue I travel to Asia a lot for business and about half the year, I am not in Canada. Since I enjoy collecting cards a lot, it's nice to find a place where I can read up on hockey cards and see the enjoyment it brings to the collectors. When I win an auction from ebay, I have to wait till I come back to Canada before I can see the card. That sucks a lot but there's not much you can do. Anyways since I just got back from my trip, and since I'll be here in Canada for about a month, I thought this would be the best time to start posting again and maybe making some trades or just simply talking hockey cards.

So with that, let me start off by listing some of the cards I have available for trade.

Sorry, but I disagree. Where in the hell is the national pride? Hell, Marionm Lemieux can barely walk and the guy is out there giving it his all, even fighting for his country and teammates. Roenick could retire today and be comfortable and wealthy for the rest of his life. Chelios is 85 years old and he still represents his country. Brett Hull is half Canadian, old, but still plays for the USA. What, is Roenick too busy betting on sports these days to give back to his country what they have given him? Did the bookies threaten to break his knees if he played in the world cup? How about going out and representing your country and fans, who pay the money to go to the NHL games and buy the jerseys and stuff so he can get a friggin paycheck from the Flyers? The guy is the next Pete Rose, he's a disgrace to his country and fans, and I hope he never plays another game in the NHL.
We all have our opinions, and we won't get anywhere on the subject... so I am going to end it here.

TURCO_35 and razkor got to watch me open a pack of 01/02 BAP Sig Series today. I pulled a Hasek XL Auto that books at 300 bucks. Then I bought a pack of BAP Sig 02/03 and pulled a nice Giguere Auto too. Not a bad day!

Crazy, eh? I didn't believe it until Turco showed me the price in Beckett. I'm not even a Hasek fan, but he does have a cool looking sig. That's one thing that I'm always happy about, if you get an auto of a player that you are not so hot for, then at least if their sig looks cool, it redeems the card.............and the 300.00 book price is not bad either!:D

I got a Lemieux tin liner picture (not auto'd), a Brett Hull tin liner(auto'd) :D , and the jersey cards were Sakic, and 2 color Brodeur! Not worth the money when you can buy the jersey cards for so little on ebay! I guess you learn by your own mistakes! :( That's a sweet Roenick Rocco! Hope you get it! ;) Do you have a Premier Collection Roenick auto from the most recent set? I may be able to pick you up one if you need it! The card show guy I deal with had one! Yeah, I have been hooked on him, ever since I seen him play for Canada in the World Juniors...He just resembles the spitting image of Canadian hockey: he may be small, and not have the best hands, extreme speed, or tremendous playmaking ability, but he has grit, determination, and the biggest heart and love for the game, that I have seen in a long time. I also commend the way, that he basically carved his own path to the NHL, as so many minor and junior teams, just ignore Native American players.

Nope haven't heard of that product, unless they're talking about the Legendary Signatures product! I know there is only 6 packs per box in that stuff though, so maybe there is another product coming out??

In a recent Beckett article it says that Upper Deck will be the market leader in products with 3 coming out before Christmas. After Legendary Signatures, the regular Upper Deck will be out in early December, followed by UD Classics in late December ($4.99 per pack) yielding 2-3 autos per box! No mention of that other Cuts product!

I buy 3 packs of that every Tuesday at the card show I go to! $20 Canadian for 3 packs! That is pretty much about the same price in the auction which is good! There are a bunch of no name players in that set though! That seller is very good. I've dealt with him twice! Did you see the Knilicka auto I got Tuesday that wasn't signed! Go back a few pages it's on there. In the game said they will take care of it (whatever that means) :rolleyes: Hopefully they will send me something better for my trouble. :)

wandered into the card store today, looking to try out a pack or two of some newer stuff, maybe some black diamond, or a rookie update. and i think to myself "i don't know if i want to spend $8 a pack right now...", so i'm looking around and i see the 2004-2005 UD Legends and i'm like "$40? that's madness"... a guarunteed auto per pack, or memorabilia, stuff that normally doesn't interest me.

and uh, so yeah, being seduced by the images of Roy/Howe/Gretzky on the front of the pack - i up and decide that for the only time in my life i'm gonna take a crack at a ridiculously priced pack of cards... and i buy one. against my complete better judgement.

my Grandpa woke up and was in a lot of pain... we called 911 and it turned out he had another hear attack. The worst part was the Ambulance took 10 minutes to get to the house when they should have been there in 2 minutes.

Espin- The Premier one's are pretty cheap and probably are some of the nicest looking auto's IMO. As far as Ultimate is concerned, consider your self lucky you're sticking to Hemsky who has like 2 cards in what I guess is considered the base set and none in any of the insert sets. For myself there's 12 Spezza cards(excluding 1/1's of course).

The stated print run was 100, but only 74 cards were redeemed (offer has since expired)... BV $400!!!

I snagged it on ebay for $158 :) Oh I was at the Russia/Slovakia game yesterday... but in the afternoon, while meeting up for my friends for lunch, I met and took pics with Mario Lemieux, Dany Heatley, and my hockey idol Ilya Kovalchuk!!! It was a great day! Also saw Scott Hannan, and Wade Redden and Robyn Rehgehr sat at the table next to me and my friend at lunch. :)

That was the first pack of SS I had ever bought! I bought a pack of 02/03 right after and pulled a Giguere Gold Auto too. Razkor bought a pack of 02/03 as well and he pulled a Cajanek auto and a really nice Naslund Gold Auto out of the same pack. It was a good day...

A friend of mine's brother passed away a while ago, he was in his 30's, and so she asked me to try and sell his hockey card collection. His father worked for General Foods Of Canada and Kraft Canada. He was given some of these cards to give to clients, they came without the gum. Some were purchased from collectors. I'm not familar with values on any of them. All cards are mint in plastic card holders in binders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The collection is from 1980-1989.

O-PEE-CHEE = Numbers 1 through 330 complete.
NHL PRO SET = Numbers 1 through 345 complete. Plus CC2 "The Mask".
NHL PRO SET = Numbers 1 through 400. Missing 11, 17, 18, 23, 30, 114, 121, 128, 146, 153, 357, 367, 368, 388 394, 397.

- Also have O-PEE-CHEE Hockey Sticker Album mint with all the stickers from 1983.
- O-PEE-CHEE Hockey Sticker Album from 1984 in mint condition with all the stickers.. On the front is Wayne Gretzky carrying the Grey Cup.
- O-PEE-CHEE Hockey Sticker Yearbook from 1985 in mint condition with all the stickers.
