There's 4 different versions. But each player is either a single, double, triple or quad

Singles are mostly star players
Doubles are Star players (Turco is a double diamond)
Triple diamond is lesser rookies and stars (Heatley, Hudler)
Quad diamone is better rookies and stars (Fleury, Pitkanen, Horton, Staal, Bergeron)

Mainly UD, but I've picked up quite a few BAP cards as well. I nab most of the stuff off of ebay if I can find it cheap enough. I'd like to get Nash, Sakic and Thornton next, and work my way from there. I'd LOVE to own a Gretzky auto... but some other bum keeps pulling them coughroccocough. :D

What are the plaques that you could get with Artistic Impressions?? I assume they are case toppers??? and is there a master checklist or pictures anyone might have... that might be a future endeavour if I ever find any. I know my card store had an yzerman, but as always they wanted an arm and a leg for it.

Though maybe I'll see if I can pimp out my kurri heritage classic and pick up some nice ones :)

The plaques that you get from Artistic Impression are autographed frames of the base card. To some they look silly however I think they look nice. I have a number of them including a 1/1 of the yzerman. That's the actual painting that they used for the card.

What do you guys think of the UD rookie update dual auto rc?

That's what happen to me too. I stopped collecting for about 5-6 years. Then one day I see a box of cards that were on sale and I said "what the hey, for old times" and then I pulled a quad jersey /25 (the card in my avatar) that books for $1000. Next thing you know I'm hooked and I've been broke because of it ever since.

Yeah me too. I started collecting in like Grade 6 (the year Sakic and Fleury had RC's) and went til like 97-98. Then from benig on the boards, Tim and a couple guys in the Winnipeg thread were all about collecting hockey cards. So I slowly got back into it within the last year. It look me a little while to get back into it cause I didn't know what I wanted to collect and I thought like $20 for a hockey card was crazy. :D I still regret not buying the 03-04 Upper Deck Iginla Signature Jersey and even the Iginla Ice Authentics when I saw them around the $20 mark on ebay.

Yeah when Lemieux is the player you want to collect, you better have a lot of money.

Same goes for Yzerman (which is who I collect) but not as bad as Lemieux.

I'm looking for a Lemieux auto as well. I want at least 1 auto of all the big name guys.

Just buy screwdown cases west. You can get ones for autos and ones for ejrsey cards/thicker auto cards. That's what I have all mine in.

For the premier I think I use a 75PT top loader. Or is it a 50PT. I can check for you if you want.

I like the top loaders better than the screw downs becasue I think putting cards in a soft sleeve is always better than not. since you can't put soft sleevs in a screw down...i never use them unless i have too. I always put my nice cards in a soft sleeve, top loader and then into a team bag.

Well for me specifically I really don;t display yet. Any jersey or auto I get automatically goes ina penny sleeve and toploader, then it either goes in my collection or my trade pile. Depending on the Value of the card, whether it is in my collection or my trade pile, they are put into screwdowns (like my Bobby Orr auto, Sidney Corsby auto, Naslund Jersey/Auto /10, etc). All are safely out of harms way. The only cards I got displayed right now, are my Koivu BUYBACK auto 3/5, and a Marvin Harrison GUJ card, jsut becasue it is right beside his Mcfarlane figure. Eventually all my favorite players will be displayed, jsut gotta think of a way :o
