I am going to be getting a package from UD soon hopefully
I bought 2 cases of HOF baseball and Both were missing a key card
1 case was w/o the 1/1 and the 2nd case was missing the 2nd dual/trip/quad auto.
my store owner contacted UD and i guess i am gonna be getting some stuff from them soon.

they're stickers.
you can tell because some of the auto's are missing pieces where the sticker stops.

I think sakic's was like that, some of the guys who have taller and more spread out autos.

I've seen especially on the Becketts board how some people have some sorta grid in their sig where they place cards they've got and there's spaces with the name of the card for ones they still have to get. How do they get those?

I'm so tired of them producing "gold" versions that aren't any different to the reg except for a strip of gold, or in the case of 05/06 UD Be a player using 1st period, 2nd period etc etc. It's such a cop out. Why not stick an extra piece of memoribillia or a different photo. At least put some effort into it.

I feel the same way. I do not collect parallells and feel they are a waste of money. Some are alright like refractors or some other major change. But, like you said, a print run of 10 with nothing more than a strip of gold, does nothing for me.

I have a poll question for you hockey card guys...lol

Do you think Dion Phaneuf will be kept on the Flames Roster, the entire season? I mean there is no doubt, he can crack the line-up, but seeing that Calgary has an already very solid/young group of D-men (Leopold, Regher, Lydman, etc.), do they really want to rush the best D-Man Prosperct in the NHL right now? The skill is there, NO DOUBT...but is the "total game" there jsut yet?

My opinion:

He is VERY talented, and has the Skill Level to produce and have an impact on the game of hockey. But, there's no need to rush the guy, and with the current roster the Flames have, they are already young and established. I would personally, play him in the early part of the season, to help him get a taste of NHL calibre. I would allow him to play in the AHL, and carry him as the "7th D-Man" is spot of any injuries or anything. I see him making a minor impact in 05/06...but in 06/07 he will become the most feared D-Man in the game!

Remember only a poll question...and feel free to leave your opinion, but lets not argue :)...just curious to what others think

Well Calgary has Regehr, Leopold, Ferrence, Lydman, Montador, Warrener (RFA I think). That's 6 good D-Men right there if they sign Warrener, which I can't see them not signing him. I've heard some rumors they might trade Lydman so that might help Phaneuf get a full season in.

What I think it boils down to is if he start the season and plays like Montador and even the some extent like Commadore played when they got a chance in the last hockey season then I really believe he'll stay the whole year.

so people would often go for the auto's and leave the glass cards, even though 1 of those per box was a auto.
pends what people go for Rookies or the Auto or Jsys.
Most stores here now dont let you feel packs anymore to try to avoid pack searching.

Well I started the tedious process of sorting and listing my entire hockey card collection. I am listing them all on Beckett so that I can get an accurate count and value, because I am selling the whole collection. The collection is about 15,000 cards big and the BV is likely around the $15,000 mark as well.

I just got my base cards listed. 9,546 cards with a BV of $4,174.7.

If you're looking to complete sets, post what you need here. I will see if I can help you out. The collection is heavy on goalies so if you need a lot of goalies, I may be able to help you.

Troy, who's your dealer? There's NO WAY anyone can say who is going to be on the card. Malkin isn't even a guarnatee to play in Pitts. this year. If I'm not mistaken, he hasn't signed a contract, and with the Stink the REL is putting up, he might not even be eligible to go to North America.

There are a number of Pitt. possibilities, such as Michel Ouellet and Ryan Whitney, but there is no guarantee yet of anyone being anything. Either UD is BSing your dealer, or your dealer is BSing you.

Shakes, the Chi card could also be Cam Barker or Brent Seabrook

Just got the phone with upper deck and he has said that Patrick Roy has commited to signing he changed on my redemption list my Signature patch from shipped back to my waiting list and said that I can keep the cards they send me.Big Big props to upper deck for being this generous.I hear alot of people saying they don't like upper deck just thought i would show something positive.Thanks Again

I agree I spend thousands on cards and to get a redemptions sucks but hopefully it will be worth it in the end
