I have to confess, I think I'm going a bit crazy for these cards.. I refresh my ebay search window frequently throughout the day, and even look at completed auctions, to see if I missed anything.. I think I'm in a self-induced panic about missing out on a 3rd period or another #'d auto Gelinas, or even the OT card, if that ever hits the market, to kmitchel, or a cheap BIN that someone else grabs.

At least the Victory parallels are out of 250 or something, so they shouldn't be TOO hard to come by..

My dad's mail... the Bouwmeester/Luongo was pretty expensive at 16$, and it took 2 months to arrive but well worth the wait.
The Luongo SPA RR was a steal, cost him 22$ DLVD when the card usually goes over 55$

I love my 8x10's but I would hate to pay so much from somewhere, when you can get the photo for $5-6, and then get it signed yourself. Then go to Michael's which always has a 50% sale and get a nice frame that you've picked out.

I have some 8x10's hanging on the wall above my desk. The first thing people see when they come in to my den is the wall of sportspicks, but they always seem to comment on the 8x10 autos. Chris! If you need help with store signings just holler! Nothing scheduled for hockey at the moment, but he has a ton of offers out there to players! Lindros is one of them! LOL!!! Hersh has pretty much unlimited access to Rick Nash, as he promotes almost all his signings! When the NHL 10 hits, I'm getting a base signed! ;) The 8X10's are cheaper at the store signings. Thornton was $36 Canadian for the photo, and auto, and they are $49 US on the site now!

I think it depends on who your rookie was? If it is a big known guy, you should get something cool, but if it is a no name guy that won't play a game ever, don't expect too much! They're usually pretty fair about it, though! Good luck! I hope you get something nice!

I'm getting bad for bid retractions on ebay these days.. 9 in the past 6 months.. most of them because I didn't notice the $3-4 shipping price, but a couple (and I feel bad about these) I wanted to raise the price a little but not win, and ended up getting the highest bid. me neither, need to save up for the Florida jerseys I'm going to get this year ;) Blue preseason hopefully by mid October, white set 1 for my Christmas present, and the red alternate, set 2, by April.

Although, I want to someday have a size 54 pro jersey of each team of Geli's and the hardest to find has been Vancouver's, and there's a size 54 pro jersey that has 8 and a half days to go for bidding.. tasty.

It's hard to watch kmitchel get them for .99 but nobody is counterbidding, and I can't let myself get swept up in competition.. the guy must be paying a fortune in shipping per month..

All I'm after is a 2nd and 3rd period card, maybe another gold auto, best not to hope for the OT card, and at least one of each color Victory parallel. I've got the only all world parallel that's come on ebay since the series came out, that's pretty sweet, I'm glad I didn't wait on that one

Reggie Williams has ALOT of potential. His rookie was nothing spectacular but he does have the skills to make it at an NFL level. However with rookies like Fitzgerald, J. Jones, K. Jones, McGahee, etc., he did not get much hobby love. Don't know if he's worth Elway, Roy or Brodeur calibre. But I'm hopin' for ya :)

Nice, are you going for his older cards too or not? Those look the best in my opinion. All the different colors of Pacific look great together. Also there are some good deals in ebay stores on some Gelinas cards

and Tim, I have all the regular issue cards except for what's that list I sent you.. 29 oilers, 9 nords, 53 canucks (13 parallels there), 25 'canes (7 parallels), and now 21 Flames, with several BAPs..

I should scan them again sometime and replace the pics I have on my webshots page.. Maybe I'll do that now :) I'm also reading reviews on hockey sticks and shafts, seeing what I should get if and when my tri flex breaks..

There was a great sale at Sportswap I saw a few days ago, Koho shafts (like Jagr's stick I think) from 160 to $60.. and now I see on amazon some louisville rubber 1pieces for $60 as well, US$ tho..

I have to be patient tho, I have a brand new 1 piece and 3 wooden backups (although the two best ones are delaminating badly), so I'm not really in the market just yet

I liked the Louisville Rubber one piece too. A couple kids on my team last year got them for free and I used one, not a bad stick but I love the Datsyuk RBK the most.....

As for goalie stick I have one left since the RBK broke in it's second and my CCM Raycroft is closing in on breaking... time to consider getting some new ones. But at 85$ a pop and I go through one in 2 weeks its tough

I think I'm going to try and cut costs and get a couple good shafts on sale, and then just buy blades.. Hopefully the shaft won't break, I don't have the power to bend it til it's lost it's pop, and the blades will just get replaced every few months or so..

Deadman, I had a similar problem with UD. They had a three-year old outstanding redemption with me for a Mike Williams Auto.

They sent me the Williams, plus Jay Fiedler, Troy Williamson Legends RC and another one.

I have three 8x10s for hockey - Jean Beliveau, Dale Hawerchuk and Ulf Nilsson. I like cards better actually, because they take up a lot less space and you can get some cool displays. I have a four-card screwdown with Hawerchuk, Carlyle, Khabby and Numminen, and another with Richard and Bobby Hull on Parkie cards.

One thing I found is cool is the Beehive cards. I pulled a Thornton one and got Daniel Tkazuk to sign one back in tha day. I also have a lot of autographed pucks, including Hull, Richard, Beliveau, Selanne, Tanguay and Luongo. Tanguay's probably my fave, because it was a practice-used puck form the 99 Juniors camp.

I also have auto'd 8x10s in wrestling of Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Lance Storm

the 95-96 BAP autos are higher on the wants, being his only autograph cards up til this year. but like I said the other day, it's a big job to try for every parallel out there, and the cost of shipping a 7 cent card x 10 cards.. it's more than I'm looking to spend. if i could get them all from one guy, then I would, I've gotten most of my cards in lots, including the parallels, from sportslots.com and abd cards here in calgary

When you guys buy them off ebay what do you look for? I've seen some that say the pictures are copies but the auto is real. Do they even look good if they are copies? I think I've also seen ones that said they were real pictures but stamped autos.

Be careful buying auto 8 x 10's off of ebay. Alot of people make a copy of a real autographed photo, and unless you see it up close, it is hard to tell the difference. These auctions usually say "You are bidding on a pre-printed photo." And alot of people don't realize they are getting a copy. It burns me up when I see someone winning the auction then giving negative feedback saying "Auto is not real!", only to get a reply from the seller saying "You should have read the description." To me this is very deceptive especially when the words PRE-PRINTED is buried in the description.
