hiya guys - i've finally inheirited the massive kraft hockey card collection my boss was telling me she was gonna pawn off on me for ebaying purposes...

a quick look through it shows complete sets of cards and lids and other anomalies running from the 1991-92 series all the way up until after the Nagano Olympics. all in kraft binders with letters from the kraft big wigs and what not. also has some of the upperdeck and pinnacle cards.

there is one set of 1991 cards, with rookies as Jagr and Federov on 'em... (i only have one set of this)

i have two or three sets of each, some shrinkwrapped, some not.

could anyone help me put a price to these? or if anyone is interested in buying them - holler at my PM box. i would *love* to move a full run of the cards as a complete package so i'm not left dealing with stragglers.

oh, there's also a stamp set from kraft in there too... i can get more specifics later.

This was Marty's first season as backup tender in Dallas but with Eddies temper and walkout Marty got quite a few starts that year. hey guys, here's some pictures from the Kraft collection i got..

each year has the full jello/kraft dinner/PB set (or however it was distributed in that year).

i think the the first album you see is my favorite... the one will all the allstars. i checked out the cut, and they were printed like hockey cards - not like the ones you'd have had to hack off the box of a kraft diner. re: they are almost perfectly mint.

I was listening to the local sports radio station yesterday (#1 rated sports station in the country). I was listening to Dale and Holly (Dale is the play by play man for the Bruins).

They were talking about how Raycroft hasn't signed yet when Dale said he was speaking with someone in the Bruins organization (remains anonymous for obvious reasons) and said that Raycroft might not even be their #1 goaltender. He said they are loving what they are seeing from Hannu Toivonen!!!!!!!

The Bruins are in a good spot in terms of goaltending. Two great young goalies.

Quick question everyone....
Today I went to the local cardshop after not being able to secure Battle of Alberta hockey tickets, so I had a little money to spend. I debated it for a couple minutes and decided to open a box of 03-04 SPA. I pulled a couple SP limiteds, your regular assortment of inserts, a Brodeur SOTT, and a Stajan RC auto. A pretty decent box, the Brodeur is really sharp and at least I got a rookie I've heard of. I mentioned to the owner that it would have been really nice to pull a Gretzky auto.

There was also a box with 8 or so loose packs left and the owner said he had the "itch". He started busting packs out of it, and pulling nothing. When it came to the last 3 packs he put the box on the counter so he wouldn't have to be turning around. I reached for a pack, picked it up and then put it back. He motioned for me to take it saying "go ahead", and well this was in it.

I guess my question is; since he was busting the box was this his pull? Or did it become my pull when he told me I could take the pack. It's a sweet card none the less and he let me leave the store without saying anything. I think he was alittle stunned, and maybe alittle choked he didn't pull it. But the other day he pulled a Fuhr/Brodeur/Roy/Esposito out of 05 SPA so he's doing pretty good himself. Anyways

Does it ever!! I opened it and saw it was a SOTT and then moved the card over top of it and saw the Great One staring at me. I put the card down and fell to one knee and did a fist pump while muffling a big "yes"!! Then when I got up the owner was looking stunned. It was GREAT!!

I like that while the card depicts him in a Detroit jersey, the swatch is from the Kings. Kinda gives it the "to know where you are you have to remember where you have been" feel.

Methinks that Thornton (and others from 97-98) should be booking higher than it is, since he signed with the number 6. I can't remember exactly when he switched to 19, but it's safe to say there's a lot more of those floating around (I have one of each)

Well this sucks indeed, only a little over $300 the bid was.

I had in my auction that a dealer could make money by buying the collection, and re-selling the cards individually. I think I just might do that (I THINK I'd make more than the $800 reserve).

I think I'll list individually all my cares above $5 in BV, and put the rest together into team specific lots. Does that seem like a good idea?
