Looks like my 02-03 BAP SS Sundin auto purchase influenced the Beckett pricing! It went from $40-$50 this month! :eek: :o

Thanks man......... its pretty bad that its my pride and joy of my hockey collection. Theres a great lack of hobby shops that sell Hockey here. So Hockey retail = no good cards.

I bought 3 boxes of Nascar cards from them this morning for prizes in my Fantasy League! Their prices are pretty tough to beat. I'd love to go to the store someday! Only 1 1/2- 2 hours from me, so it could happen!

Also a Kobesaw rookie and a Lemieux mini parallel. I'm real happy with the Spezza, the RC's are numbered to 300.

Speaking of Ovechkin. Look at this auction! Looks like a Toronto Expo stamped card. Those don't usually command much of a premium, if at all. Weird! :confused:

Yeah the Ovechkin cards have been going nuts lately. I'd like to bet the winner hasn't noticed the EXPO stamp on it. Patience is the key to getting his auto's right now. A lot have sold for over $130, but you can still occasionally pick them up for $60.

But there are a LOT of idiots happy to throw their money away.

Is it auto'd?? The base cards are still going for low $$'s because there's so many of them. I haven't noticed show stamped cards fetching as much as non-stamped ones. Like I said earlier I'm sure the winning bidder didn't spot the EXPO stamp on that Ovechkin card.

I'll second that, the non-show stamped version has a production run of 5 and i'm pretty sure I paid over $100 for it and that was before the prices got silly.

Yeah I might have to. The seller has told me that there's another 1 of these cards residing in Ottawa and the other 3 are in the US; not sure if it's all with 1 person or not.

As for the best collection, Tim, well I'm not sure, but it's at least in the top 5, and one of my Russian cards is as rare as rocking horse poop in North America, with almost all the others in Russia.

The swatches are nice, I hate how all the different game used cards look the same. I really like the base cards and the parallels look good (even though there is a **** load of them)

Yeah, really huh? :rolleyes: Some of the SP Game-Used autos from a couple years back were like that too! I think I have a Thornton, and Heatley cut off a bit. Oh well, a jersey/auto out of 25 was a steal for that price, especially for a Jays fan who was a huge follower back then! ;)

It's hard for the window autos
they prolly cut the card before they get the autos in, but, if they send out avery labels, and they're of a certain size, it should be a given that they need to be so big.

can someone tell me what the difference is between the ud artifacts autofacts...as far as #/50 #/75 and #/100. What makes them so different?

Pretty much they are just parallels. Like the /75 is the Copper, /05 is the Silver, /10 is Pewter and I think the /100 is just the regular. Don't even know if there are others, obviously a 1/1 but I heard there was a /5 but I don't know for sure.

And UD has finally smartened up too... they made their jersey cards thicker so that there is no bump on the back, so it is much tougher to search packs now. For the record, I did not search these packs. They were the only 2 on the rack and I wouldn't know how to search these packs anyway now that UD has made the jerseys thicker

Do you guys ever look through the Game Worn Memoribillia section of ebay? You can often pick up real bargains because a few bright sparks decide to sell their cards in that area. Found this today, not sure how much it's worth but it looks pretty nice for you goalie collectors.

Finally got some cash today, made a trip to a diffrent shop thats actually close to my house here. He had sold out of powerplay and Artifacts in 2 days, so I bought 4 packs of 2004 Pacific @ 3.25 a pack. Not bad. First pack I pulled a Shanahan Jersey. Not bad at all. Pulled 2 Nash-Preds cards also, Maybe I can get Upshall to Auto a card sometime in milwaukee when he gets sent back down.

So I arranged a deal with Andrew Groark (raybourque77 from Beckett) last week to purchase his Patrice Bergeron game used stick. This was the first time Andrew and I had dealt with each other, and the transaction couldn't have go any better. The stick arrived toay, and despite Andrew having declared the stick at a value of $150 US (at my request mind you), to my surprise, Canadian Customs did not charge me a single penny for duty! Strange how they work, but hey, can't complain this time! :)

Question for the hockey card experts here.

I have an 86-87 OPC Mario Lemieux second year card. It's in really good condition and I was thinking of getting it graded. Reason being is cause I'd like to sell it off and get something nice for my Iginla collection which I would enjoy more. But the card only books at $60 and it has too much sentimental value to just throw on ebay where I'd probly be lucky if I got $30 bucks for it.

Do you think it's even worth it to do that?
What do you think it would be worth if it got a 9 or higher? (Which I think is very possible)
How do I go about getting it graded and how much does it cost?

What do you guys think? Like I said, I wouldn't let this card go for peanuts but if I could get a nice Iginla for it then I'd be happy letting it go.
