Got my box of H&P today and I seriously beat the Odds.

BAse included Cros, Ovech., Tavares, Lemieux, Roy, Bourque and Malkin

2 AS. If it books cheap enough I might go for the set.

2 Auto's - Marcel Dionne and Joey MacDonald. Macdonald is cool b/c i shot him a lot last year and I've interviewed Dionne in the past.

2 Jerseys -

Makin the Bigs Hilbert - both the Providence and Bruins swatches were dual color, but ican't tell them apart. The swatches are about twice as big as the preview photo on the ITG website would lead you to believe.

Game-used jersey silver - Pierre Marc Bouchard. Dually wicked because the jersey is a Min. Wild swatch, and it's about a 60/40 split red and green with a seam down the middle. Comparatively, it's bigger than the Tools of the trade swatches form absolute memorabilia '04.

Extremely happy with the set despite the lack of Jets legends. There's also a strong amount of current hockey stars, including AHL alum like Spezza and Lehtonen, plus Thoedore, Brodeur, Lemieux and Yzerman.

Anyone else pulling the goods? The Phanueuf card posted here looks wicked sweet. where's the swatch from?

Jon, I don't understand why Boston didn't give Hilbert a chance. He played great down in Providence the past couple seasons and he didn't see the light of day this year in Boston. He has a 2 goals and an assists in 5 games with Chicago so far.

As for Hilbert, i've found that he's a decent player but he'd really only fit into the role of being third-liner, and Boston has always been heavy on muckers.

Raycroft was great last year, but Toivonen is just playing much better so far. I didn't think Toivonen would excel in the NHL as much as he has so far. .905 SV% compared to Razor's .888 and Hannu has a shutout (against the Sens).

Cost me $60 US for the lot (after getting raped on shipping) when I only wanted the dual auto, but it was still the cheapest I've seen it. Then when I picked it up, the Canadian Government decided to charge me duties on it too so it ended up more like $70 US. Hopefully I can make a few bucks back selling the rest off. Well, I have a couple team sets of the Blue Jackets from 2 years ago and I've been looking at the 05-06 Upper Deck boxes on ebay.


that's cool. i think i'll do a set once a year... i know it's cheaper to buy the individual set, but i really like opening packs. it's not the most economical thing, and i hate that you can't get much for RC's without busting packs or paying $10+ a card (and up there when you're after guys like Phaneuf).

i'm just having a good time with it again. did you buy hockey cards before or are you just getting into it? a few guys here seem to be pretty hardcore - they could help you out with figuring out how to do your buying (ie. boxes vs packs vs singles).

For those asking, I won;t be trading H&P at this point. I love the cards too much, plus a good chunk will be used for my photofiles/topical set of "a card of every NHL player"

The latter is my latest project. It's basically a way for me to wittle down my collection to a <b>reasonable</b> size.

Right now, i'm around 1,300 players without going through the buk of my collection. Thank god for sets like Ultimate Original 6, Franchises and Pro Set!
