yeah it does say you can do that... you have to be able to get it because it's a "contest" of sorts - contests must, by law, be enterable (lol?) without purchase.

Some products are easier than others. Trilogy and UD Ultimate was horrible for that. It's bad for the hobby and little kids buying packs. That's why most collectors would advise to buy sealed boxes.

my store doesn't seem to care enough to search packs - they don't even shuffle the packs ... and hopefully the little kids aren't buying the expensive packs anyway. :)

the decoy card was a good call on UDs part... we used to shake packs for the slammers in POG :D

I don't think UD has used decoys in SPx ever,
they just take out base cards to make the packs the same size, or to try and usually fail.

They use decoys in series 1...

and yes, you get less base cards,
it says on teh wrapper or the box 'packs with memorabilia may contain fewer cards than stated'

Ok, from the main jersey source, here's some info on jerseys worn by one of the 22 teams he is part of. (for the 22, go to nhlgameworn.com).

Someone had said that it takes a while to get jerseys and make the cards.. here's the reply

You are incorrect in your assumption that it takes a few months to produce game-worn jersey cards. Independent information from three different card companies consistently states that it is possible to have a game-worn jersey in boxes for retail distribution three weeks from the time the jerseys are acquired.

As we have said on numerous occasions, NHL-MGG facilitates card company early requirements by selling them a small number of lightly worn jerseys (usually one game) so that game use is barely affected.

Upper Deck purchased one game-worn jersey from 2005-06 for each of the four players mentioned in this thread, and these jerseys were shipped well in time for UD to produce the cards pictured.

^ agreed. i've thought of the "Case" searching too.... which is why after i pulled a quad and a jersey from one brand new box of BD, i bought the next box, i already knew most of the stuff was gone.


i would love to see a case study on how much it would cost to start a card company - how long it'd have to run for - and what kind of profit you'd make...


the one spinoff benefit is that i can now buy a base set of most product for around $10.

then again, i'd be happier to pay $70 for a product, get the base set with some rookies and some quality inserts.

Hey guys I need some help to clear something up. I've been told that jersey acrds that have more then on colour will go for more then just a single solid colour card. Even more if they are low numbered and 1 of say 100 or 100 of 100. Now would I be off base to say these 2 cards fall in that catagory?

as to whether it's worth it or not, well, that's your call.


Those would sell for a little more than a single colour, and the dark jersey's are more desirable than a white jersey.

Steve! As a rule multi-colored swatches get a premium of 1.25-1.5, but it really depends on the player some times! Someone like Crosby, could get double even. Patches generally are multi-colored, so don't necessarily command a premium, but sweet looking multi ones can get huge bucks! Depends on the player, and the person's preference.

I busted one today,
got perry and leneveu rookies, + an Amonte shooting stars jersey (which is FT)

my streak of only pulling Shooting stars jersey's continues.
Just wish one of them was a Jagr.

the Perry was nice,
I'm done though,
friggen trying to get 3 BASE cards, and haven't in maybe 4 blasters and hobby box and a half worth of base cards (didnt bust the hobby box)
so I'm not broke, and w/o a base set.
Pathetic.
anywho, I'll snag em from the local I guess.
