The Toivonen I pulled a couple weeks ago and the Legace out of a couple loose packs today. The Thornton jersey is really nice, and the white swatch on the Legace jersey looks almost pink. I'm not sure what to do with the Morrow/Turco card, being an Oilers fan the card is pure evil and burns to the touch. I might just destroy it.;)

I'd like to thank Ronark for the box and taking care of shipping. Most/All is available for trade for Oilers cards and 03-04 SPA SOTT auto's.

good time at the All Star Skills Comp tonight...

another poorly organized autographed frenzy at the game - but i was the fortunate one this time. got Danis and Montoya (highlights of the batch) and quite a few others, although i noticed alot of players i knew were recalled to the NHL... ah well.

the pregame warmup was pretty cool - not many people were there yet, and the boards along the side of the ice were removed so we could talk to players, Yann Danis put out his blocker to tap my first when he went by which was pretty cool. I didn't realize he was even going to be there.

flaherty was amazing, blanking the 3 on 0 relay. only a few creative goals on the breakaway relay. montoya was also great to watch - he plays a very aggressive style.

on a side note - there was some dorkwad sitting behind the net in row one wearing a Wilkes/Barre jersey.:p tim i tried to pop by to see you but your security wouldn't let me in :D i was the kid in the old school jets jersey standing by the bench during warmup taking pictures. i've got one or two i'll send your way.


highlight of the night: first time in my life i've seen a mascot lose his head. i think the milwaukee admirals guy, all i saw was him scooping his head off the ice and putting it back on lmao. poor guy.

Good to hear you got some autos. By the time we got to the ice all the goalies were gone. Apparently cell phones don't work in the MTS Center too good.... that equals no stick :(... oh well good time anyways. Turned out the ticket I got was right beside my cousins. Didn't even know that. Thought I'd check in on the All Star stuff.

First off, I've got pics up in my articles at www.hockeyology.com/ahl.

- Skills Competition was a lot more fun than the game.
- It was the Admirals guy who lost his head. I was standing beside the entrance with a bunch of Moose execs and we were all laughing (no, I did not trip him, I swear)
- Thank god the boards were down. Much easier to get clean photos!
- Got to go on the ice after each event for photog'ing. Probably will print up my AHL All-Star team photo.
- The auographs were definitely disorganized. They didn't anticipate that many people wanting sigs, espeically from Flats and Roy.
- Got to chat with a bunch of the guys like Fehr, Montoya etc. Best was Joe Mullen.
- A few fans got discs from the hardest shot and the players signed them. Definitely a cool momento.
- Definitely the best swag for me was my press pass and plate from my spot in the press booth. Forgot to take mine from the Winnipeg Arena last year (d'oh!).

i struck out tonight - sitting by the home players bench at the end of the game, hoping for a stick (a few kids that obviously would get firsties, got pucks and water bottles) - nothing from the home team, we looked across the rink and Planet USA must've given out at least 15 sticks. lol ah well, win some you lose some.

i had fun eaves dropping on the scouts from the leafs/marlies. some secret gossip about a player who really just wanted to go home to see his g/f and baby, and other interesting bits about how the marlies can't compete with the leafs on a saturday, or the leafs marketing colliacavo or stajan before they even made the team. kinda cool conversation.

too bad for montoya letting in those weaker goals. i felt bad for the guy.

only disappointing part was the failure of the "go jets go" chant to catch on... the music was so loud during the commercials that it could never build up.

mascot broom ball was amazing - and so were the little kids in the first period.

i really liked the yellow admirals mascot along with Bruiser from hamilton. bruiser was a riot. way cooler then Mick E. in my opinion.
