Thanks guys! Didn't really need a Cherry auto, but it was only $13.10, so what the heck! :D Howe cost me quite a bit though. :eek: Didn't have one, and my Patrice Bergeron SPA rookie should almost cover it when it ends at midnight! I'm not a fan of his at all, so it was a no-brainer for me! :D

I decided to bid on some screwdown/magnetic holders for my thick cards since I can't find them anywhere in Winnipeg. I bought 5 at $1.25 each and the jerk is charging me $8.60. I sent him an email to ask why it's so expensive so we'll see how that goes. That's totally over the line in shipping, no way it can be THAT much.

honestly i dont know man they are getting alot of heat thought so im kinda hesitant to end em early honestly.

what do you guys think? or am i just being paranoid?

a second side note - got a pm from a dude saying "keep in mind that they are a third of book value" (the other lot i was offered). i really don't understand how beckett sets the value for anything? if the going rate is something on ebay - then how can you say it's worth more? a Olli Jokinen Jersey will not sell for $8 on ebay. it won't sell for $5 + shipping. i have a tough time getting my head around that... in terms of being fair for trades and what not it's all good - i have no problem paying $15 for 5 jersey cards - just don't try to convince me they are worth $45+ :roll:. anyhoo - what do you guys think? beckett value or ebay value?

there havent been any of the auto /25 on ebay, but the patch /5 ends tomorrow so it would obviously be less than that

Yeah there are a couple gooders of Iginla from SPGU already but they are going to go for quite a bit I think. Don't know what I'm gonna end up picking up from that set. Most of the stuff of his I put on my want list in numbered under 50.

i have the YG and artifacts rookies.. i *never* would've been able to keep up with this. i have some issues with flooding of various 'RCs' (whether they are true RCs or not) - it's a pain in the arse. and i can't imagine player collectors really appreciating it...

my Marc Denis goal will likely be to own all his base cards (straight up base) and pick up assorted jerseys and autos that i like. i'd like to own a nice patch, and jersey/auto at some point, but not in a hurry for that.

Looking at those checklists, it looks like being a Hemsky collector is not going to be too bad this year. Pronger and Peca are getting more Oilers cards. While I really like Pronger, I don't collect a ton of his stuff. The Hemsky/Peca SOTT is the highest end Hemsky card I could see that I don't have already. I find it tougher to get memorabilia cards from ITG from Hemsky's rookie year.

Colorado HAS received a very proven goalie (besides this current season), and just like every player Montreal trades or loses to FA, I'm sure he'll flourish is Colorado. There's only two things I found weird about the deal:

1) The $2.6 Million difference in salary between Theo and Abby. Colorado was not in great cap position as it was, and just added another $2.6 Mil to that total.

2) Theodore is still 2-3 weeks out from returning from his injury. Meaning, in a VERY tight division and conference race, they'll have to solely rely on Budaj for the next 8-12 games. Can the Rookie play HUGE enough to keep Colorado at the top of the conference?

I don't think either team got ripped on the deal, but think MTL probably got a little better, due to the salary they'll save. I'm still sad to see him go though :(

I'm more pissed that Colorado got Theodore cause I know next year he is going to bounce back and have a good year. He needed to get out of Montreal cause he was so done there it isn't funny. The only thing I think Colorado made the mistake of id now they have no goalie for the playoff run, but this will be good for them in the long run.

I just won this card that ShakesO told me about!!

I had a max bid of $3.01 set on it which was the high bid. Knowing that someone might try and snipe it I increased my Max Bid which in turn increased the current bid to the next increment of $3.25?????

Has this ever happened to anyone else?? How can I outbid myself???

you went one increment over the next guy, even though you were already winning.. very strange.. a glitch in the system that corrects the increment if your bid isn't one increment more than the next highest (not including you)
